i love this video I refer all my beginner friends an local kendama players to this video his got a great great way of teach basic kendama!!! thanks buddy
9:57 also lots of influence from Mexico's favorite toy for over 340 years, ball in a cup! You just toss the ball, catch it in the cup, dump it out of the cup, toss it, and catch it in the cup again. Its a ball on a string and attached to a cup, so theres no worry if you don't catch the ball in the cup. And cleaning up is as easy as catching a ball, in a cup!
I like the play back close up hand shots very helpful. Can you talk about the kendama you are using and where to get one? I want to try doing these beginner tricks
Hero Hendel when you pull up the tama push your Ken hand out away from you. This will swing the hole towards you as it rises. Then practice keeping the hole in the same position as you perform each catch. But as the other comments mention you should learn to break each trick down into smaller elements and then put them all together
What model is the first Kendama with the green ball? I’m very new to this but I read there’s different types on the Kendama website? Is the one you used a “SunRise Mini” or which do you suggest for beginners? Being from El Salvador, I’ve only ever played the basic cup and ball but recently discovered kendamas! And want to learn more before I order one! Plz any advice will be muchhh appreciated! Thank u!
I would recommend Kendama USA for cheaper ones cause they have very good sales but me personally like Krom kendama but I’m wating on the restock with kendam usa
Yes use your knees but please use them on the catch, its more important then. Just letting the tama slap against the cups will make it bounce out, you want to coushon the catch
Me thinking this guy had never done it befor 😂 I really hope he has otherwise he's a wizarddd Also I've had my kendama for a day and I did this trick and I got it onto the big cup I then threw the ball up off it then as it was in the air went 360 round the ball with the Ken and landed the ball back down on the big cup. Really ain't good at explaining but I'm so obsessed and I've had it for a day Just continued watching and it's just like orbit but i threw into the big cup first then did the orbit Now gonna have a go at orbit ❤️
Accualy in the video the spike is clean spike, just spike is when you put the tama spinning and do it, orbit is the same you do big cup and then arund the tama, what he did was called pull up orbit.
*@GoProJoe.* Actually it's lot older that that. The french version called the _bilboquet_ dates back from the 1570s, then became forgotten for the next 200 years, then became popular again during the reign of Louis XV, you know the guy who's son got his head chopped. The Japanese version, _kendama_ is from the 18th century, modernized in the 20th century.
Start with a kendama USA kendama, which are good for beginners but when you get really good and want a challenge go to Sweets Kendama and get a Homegrown kendama. Even though they cost a lot they are worth it if you are determined to kendama

"I'm not a professional"... lands every trick on first try
Manny Rodriguez its not first try its called editing
Manny Rodriguez those are the easiest kendama tricks
Professional means "gets paid to do it", as in this is your profession. You can be good at something and at the same time not be a professional.
These tricks are easy to do first try if u hav played for more than 3 days

superb explanation bro.
My only problem with around Japan is to hit the spike. How can I assure that the hole is on the right place?
Practice big cup to spike and really try to control where the hole ends up. Have fun!
Hero Hendel when you pull up the tama push your Ken hand out away from you. This will swing the hole towards you as it rises. Then practice keeping the hole in the same position as you perform each catch. But as the other comments mention you should learn to break each trick down into smaller elements and then put them all together
You spin the ball while it's still hanging, and then you pull it up.It pretty much works for me.
Easy spin the ball very fast and that hole will always be down
@@corpse4434 That's pussy shit doe
has anybody tried spinning the ball than straightening the string for a precise spike?
Great video
It blows my mind that you don’t have more subscribers.
But you should have showed us how to do the basics in BOTH grips.
You helped me so much!!!!!!!
Idk about using your knee but like I do it sitting down more effetive
def more relaxing haha

Why did you stop uploading?
While in ken grip try bringing your fingers closer to the cups. This will give you more control
Very deep details! I enjoyed this video a lot! What Kendama are you using?
I bought one from taiwan years ago and just found it again now

Why I watch u play it so easy?
Have you ever done a trick where you end up with the spike through your gauge? You can use that 👍
Is play grip good??

The Rat Gamer that's just cup spike tho
