I love these. I've been playing for 10 months but I still learn some things from this because Matt is so descriptive! Make some advanced ones, like lunar Tre or juggles to spike
I wish I had these videos when I started playing. Trying to rebuild my game from the ground up by practicing these basic tutorial techniques. I started off just learning how to catch on the cups and totally ignoring tama orientation. These forward-looking (as stressed by Matt-they will make it easier down the road) tutorials are amazing. Thanks for this, Sweets.
I was just at ubbi dubbi fest in texas and tried kendama for the first time and I fell in love with it. My friend let me use his quil and said if I could spike an around the world I could keep it. I practiced all Saturday and Sunday and late Sunday night I spiked it! I am totally hooked!
Love your tutorials and the kendama I bought from you! Will now work my way through the playlist. Just landed this trick after a few tries and had no idea how to hole control!
Just started playing, and Sweets video have helped bug time. Just tried the trick in this and landed on my first try. Thank for putting videos out Sweets.
This is a far better tutorial, and needed for progression in Kendama, then the previous trick tutorials. A very dense video. Love it. Especially like the message about learning from mistakes and using mistakes as ways to improve. Learning from mistakes will take you further in Kendama then just trying to be perfect every time.
Hey thanks bro my buddy at work brought one in and I was whaaat so he gave me one this is my first TH-cam video that I have watched and it has helped me out I appreciate it
Thank you! This is a great tutorial, Sweets! I find, when doing longer "around" lines, that too many earths get the string twisted quickly. I like to employ both techniques when controlling the hole. "I'm a kendama fan, and I'm calling."
Nice guide! :D I popped off when I landed a couple of Big Cup > Spike sequences (both with ideal and less-than-ideal hole positions when the Tama was pulled up into Big Cup), it's very cool to be exposed to this sort of stuff early on and the encouragement to try spiking anyway despite unideal conditions is appreciated! 💙
Hollerup from Norway. Excellent tutorial videos; very detailed, as others have pointed out. I only want to emphasize more how it's important to attempt every chance to catch it, even when you land it badly on the cup. And this should be a mantra among all kendama players: Always go further. Every time you land a spike, try an earth turn. And when you're starting to get that, flip it to bird's nest next, or instead. Yessir, you'll land it before you know it! And it'll feel like the first time you got a spike on, only much better.
These are soooooo much better than the original tuts you guys put out years ago. Can you guys teach us trapeze? I seem to find that a lot of tricks are called trapeze but they are all very different. Would love some clarification!
I wanted to buy a sweets kendama but couldn't find one that I liked so I went to kendamausa. But this video really helped especially the spin, can't seem to spike it with out it thoe. But thanks keep the videos coming, I just started playing 3 days ago. Kendama love all around !!
Yooooo I watched soo ment videos on this and none were as helpful as this just did my first big cup spike and also spike small cup spike cheers sweets:)
yeah man in 3-5 tries I had it from big cup onto the spike. I have landed some cool stuff in my first few days of dama the hard part is getting it consistent xD
Its my 4th day with a kendama and my best trick is where the ball is hanging and i yank it up with the handel and make the handel do a double backflip to spike

I love these. I've been playing for 10 months but I still learn some things from this because Matt is so descriptive! Make some advanced ones, like lunar Tre or juggles to spike
