I will say that was a wonderful twist in the narrative. The 94 roll made the story just so much more engaging. I can't wait to hear more about Prince Dareon and his family adventure.
Tutorials about Mythic GME are quite rare and your choice of actually playing an adventure using the mechanics is really helpful. Thanks for these videos!
Enjoying these characters and the story. Hope you do continue it! Also, as a Savage Worlds fan, you may have sold me on looking into the Basic Roleplaying system sometime - thanks for showing it off
You are very welcome! Basic roleplaying is a really smooth system when you get past the character creation, and it specially shines for more grounded adventures! A quick tip for newcomers who feel that individual starting skill numbers are too intense... You can use the Skill groups as a base and the skills themselves as specialisation. You can create every skill group base with two of your Stats. For example: combat group base could be DEX+STR. And you can use that as a base for all combat skills and then you can develop the skills further with the skill points.
Finally watched this video. Thanks for making it! Came for the tutorial, and stayed for your stories… I know this is supposed to be a how to video for mythic but gosh your stories are so engaging. Using a different system was also quite a great surprise that made me quite curious about basic roleplaying system… I read your previous comment, I really can’t wait to see what happens with this story after the cliffhanger and get to know Mythic even more too! Plus I hope you’ll continue it more to the fourth video too
Hi from Russia. Thx for good video. You inspire me to continue my walkthrough of WHRP4e as solo with MGME2e. And it was awesome experience. And yes it would be very convenient if you show some examples with Basic RPG system. Good luck.
Yeah I am so fully invested in the story as well :D... If there is demand for it we can definitely try to find some kind of conclusion for Sir Oliver and Prince Dareon!
Hi there. Sorry for my English, I'm French. I'm a big fan of the Mythic system and I discovered your channel thanks to it. I loved the three tutorial videos you made on this system and the way you play it. You made it very concrete and motivating. So I went through the other videos on your channel and it's a real goldmine that I'm thinking of exploiting as much as possible. You asked for suggestions for future videos and I have to admit that I'd really like to see videos explaining systems with examples for solo play with Mythic (like you've just done with Savage World and Basic Roleplaying Game). Among other things, I'd especially like Alien (the Year Zero Engine), Basic Roleplaying Game (more in-depth) or Cthulhu, as well as Fate (full version). I'd also love to see how you manage different themes in single-player games with Mythic, such as Horror or Investigation (Mythic has a system for Investigation in the Magazines, I think it's number 6). Those are my suggestions. I've really loved the way you've explained and presented this fabulous Mythic system to us. Thank you and here's to you.
Merci beacoup mon ami! Really great suggestions. I still need to come back into this series sometimes to talk about running horror in Mythic! I have a video about FATE condensed in my channel if you are interested!
These videos are so helpful! I bought Mythic 2e months ago and have yet to play it, despite wanting to, due to its complexity. Now, I feel motivated to try it again! Your examples made it feel less daunting, and they were very entertaining. Thank you! :)
That is so nice to hear! Have fun with it! Just start small and you will be fine :). If you ever need more examples, my series NPC ADVENTURES actually starts to use mythic 2nd. From episode two.
I'm glad you found my video helpful. Remember that creativity is a muscle that can be trained! I have a 10-year professional career in musical theater that has also included studying impro ( my dissertation subject was all about impro). So in the beginning it requires quite a lot of effort but through practice, it is something that will get easier. And this is not me just flexing my experience the point I really want to make is that just like professional athletes. Creativity is not just something people either have or don't have. Everyone has creativity, but it is also something that needs to be cultivated. :) that said, there are a lot of different things you can do if you feel like you do not want to create everything yourself ( for that you can watch part 3 hehee ;p)
@@CRP-Waltteri Thank you for your detailed answer :) Actually, I've never seen it that way. But now that you say it, it actually makes sense... the human brain is amazing in learning new skills, and maybe creativity is just like you said a skill or muscle that can be trained. I was a bit sad after my first attempt. But maybe I just need to give it some more tries. Maybe at the moment my creativity is in sleep mode because being catered day in day out by video games and shows on the TV which are just consumed. I'm really excited to see if I can wake it :). Part 3 is on my schedule for the weekend! :)
heya, great video, excited for how that story evolves as well! :) i was trying to get into solo rp using mythic and swade as well, actually, since i dont get to play much with other people right now. but mythic just looked super intimidating and i didn't really know how to start. i must say - you sure made it look a lot easier now and i think i am gonna be ready to tackle that now. question - what're you using for notes and character sheet and all? you got yourself a new sub :)
Im so glad to hear that my video had value to you! Thank you. I am using a browser based white board app called Miro here is a link for it: miro.com/app/dashboard/
You're so good at roleplaying by yourself! When you roleplaying the librarian the first time i burst out laughing so hard. I wonder how you keep track of the stories? Do you do journalling of some sort? Ive been trying getting into solo rp using mythic but so far I've never commit to any story to the end, i just keep wanting to jump to a new one for some reason.
I know how you are feeling! actually I just talked about this in my TOP 5 TTRPGs for West marches campaign video, It is also very possible to make your adventures episodic! have different adventures in the same world! Using different characters. Then you can switch around characters and gamesystems, while still keeping on building the same world! How do I keep track on my stories? I am so lucky as a TH-camr that I can just visit my channel and watch a video about it what happened last time XD. but when I am not filming, easiest for me is to just take a map, and while I go into my adventures, Ill just time to time drop few bulletpoints and pictures of the locations, that really helps me to remember.
Haha don't worry it is close in the production line! I have How it Plays video of Scarlet Heroes in the works right now and after that I will start making the 3rd. Part of the Mythic Tutorial.
I have seen some solo roleplayers use a source like a fantasy or horror book (depending on their adventure), and when they need to consult an oracle or generate some keywords they would pick some random words or a random passage from the book. Have you ever done this?
Yeah I know what you mean! I have Geek Gamer TH-cam channel have done this (very good solo channel BTW). I have never done this myself tho... I am not an avid reader myself (except for TTRPG books lol) So I really do not have a great base knowledge to pick good books that would fit to this type of play. But I am up to trying it out when the right moment presents itself!
I am using Miro, which is browser based whiteboard tool and I just simply open all my pdfs on different Chrome tabs. So I can keep my "game screen" and multiple pdfs in the same window.
@@CRP-Waltteri thanks, for the reply, I’ll give that a go. I am really enjoying this series on Mythic 2. I bought it several months ago, but am still a bit intimidated by all the options!
Haha no worries, I was too at first as well! It might be one of the most popular oracles out there, but it is quite a lot to take in as at first! let me know if you have any other questions.@@atheistboomer7700

Well luckily there is also part 3, and it seems that you guys enjoy this series so I will definitely make part 4 at some point!
Very interesting. Just came over from part 1
I am glad to see that you stuck around!
Great video, both in Mythic mechanics and storyline. Looking forward to watching part 3
