Unfortunately, I got rid of all my 80s and 90s toys about 20 years ago - either thrown away or sold at a car boot (flea market). Transformers, GI Joe, Thundercats, Star Wars, etc...all gone. Thankfully we are in an era where toy companies can now exploit our nostalgia, but by actually making decent products like this. I thought the older anniversary edition Prime would be the best we got, but these missing links g1 toys are all looking amazing - finally, we can re-create the poses of Prime we saw on the box toy art!

That’s so cool you have your childhood Prime. My mom sold mine when I went to college. I should have took it with me. Mine didn’t look as good as yours did. Pretty rough. I bought missing link 01 and 02. I think the toy version with the trailer is 01. Anyway that resides in its box. I did open 02 and had to just play around with that new articulation. It’s so dang cool! Currently 02 is riding my Hammond T-Rex on the shelf of my faves. It has Tiger Force Classified Outback riding my big sounds Mach 5. There’s some Lego and Gundam Deathscythe. and 18” Spider-Man from Toybiz days. It’s just a hodgepodge of fun. 02 fits right in. Just awesome! I don’t know if I will need any other Missing Link figs. Maybe Soundwave if he’s made. My favorite part of 02 is all the ratcheted joints and I guess the weighted legs too. It just great.
@@prophet924 thanx for sharing. So sorry ur mom sold your toys. I got lucky and saved mine. We found them all in a box with price labels on them -so they planned a garage sale but maybe never went through it or I got to them in time. this was back in the 90’s. I got the original prime when I was a kid at Xmas. But this missing link one is just soooo cool. As for the mini figures, I had a couple knock off transformers that had the pilot seat as a kid. Would love to get a couple of those mini figs. I know there were toys that had those. Just can't remember which ones.

I looked up those mini figs. They had arms and legs that could move. Also magnets on their feet. From the few I saw on eBay they're not cheap. Yes it did bring back memories! Keep up the good work on your videos
Definitely the best Prime so far! It really is the same as the G1 but the increased articulation takes him to the next level. Perfect! Thanks for another amazing video, John!!
I just saw on the documentary shiw The toys that built america had an eoisode on transformers and if i recall correctly hasbro took the guys out to save in costs and so they would be robots slef autonomous like u said.

You were correct about the toys first coming out in 1984 - in the USA. They came out a year later (under the "Transformers" branding as opposed to the earlier 'Diaclone' & 'Micro Change' lines) in Japan.
