Yes!! Just trimmed mine today in twists. I got a couple pops and snags, no waiting anymore trim time❣❣❣ Staying on it has changed the game in my length retention 💖
This is why I always recommend your channel. Practical, direct and simple hair care. Trimmed after your 'Why your natural hair isn't growing' and detangling/styling is a breeze!
Just got my hair trimmed yesterday. The trim was sooooo needed. I plan to stay on schedule with regular trims. The stylist was great, she didn't over do it! I was extremely pleased. She made the comment that my hair was in good condition and told me to "keep doing what you're doing". :) :) It's your videos and teachings that my hair is thriving!!! Thanks!
You can always cut individual splits out, it is called "S&D" (search & destroy) and you just go through your hair/ends and search the splits out, then snip the "one" hair just above the split and then you have no need to cut all your gained length off (which takes a long time to grow).
My hair ends was werid but then I trim and put on some vo5 and softee grease. I think my ends weren't properly moisturized and lubricated. Also I think my shed hairs and hair shrinkage cause my hair to knot. Also, I need to make sure to unravel twists from bottom to top to prevent unnecessary tangles.
I was just thinking earlier that it was time for me to set up my appointment for a trim for next month. I usually get a trim every six months, but in between I will snip, snip myself. Great info.
I definitely need a trim & have an appointment with my curly stylist on Sat. Can’t wait! This is the longest I’ve waited between trims since I big chopped - going into month five since my last trim. Can now tell that 3 should be my standard. Definitely hearing a little popping when I detangle & some small knots on ends during my wash and go. Can’t wait to get back to easy detangling!
Good tips! I have experienced some of these things you mentioned in this video! Truth be told, l need a professional trim now, so that my hair can be healthy and spring up fast because the growth is currently stunted as a result!
From my mini big chop that began as a trim that began Monday and ended Tuesday, I cut 5-7 inches. My hair looks and feels a thousand times better!! I also came to the conclusion that though I have a wash routine I didn’t have a hair regimen. So now as I grow my hair back I’m looking to create an actual regimen.
Some things like "harder to detangle" comes with longer hair, so it (to me) is not always a sign I should get it trimmed. I trim when I get knots in my hair that I normally don't get. I keep my hair classic (over the bum) length. It's "only" wavy/curly, though so maybe it is a little easier to get to that length. Took a lot of patience (and cursing) though. LOL! ;)
Yea I'm at number 8 currently. Been blow drying back to back this summer like I don't know better. I'll need to asses the damage after I take these braids out sometime in November. I believe my last trim was in March lol possibly. I was doing so good with my hair back in March or before March
I feel so triggered by your trim videos. I have been dragging my feet to trim my hair. I think i was due for a trim since like May. I need to commit to letting these ends go hopefully this weekend.
So many videos on hair trimming this week it must be a sign 😂😭 i cant remember the last time i fully trimmed my hair but i do trim random spots, dust and cut the ssks so idk whats going on with my hair at this point because i get scissor happy lmao maybe I should do one overall trim and leave it alone
Yo, I feel you on the "scissor happy" thing lol. You get some fresh sheers, and once you start it's hard to stop and walk away. It's addicting seeing damage drop off and smooth healthy hair left in its place. I have to literally make my scissors hard to get to because if they are right there looking me in the face, I'm going to start going through my hair and cutting again lol. Stay away from the scissors self!
I trimmed my daughter's hair in September. It was much needed! Do you ever experience knots after a wng for week? My daughter's hair gets a lot of knots after wearing wngs.
Great and timely video! Would you share what protein conditioner you are using, or recommend? My hair is definitely coconut oil sensitive, which rules out far too many great options... Thanks much.
@@ALove4Me Thank you for your response. I have the Aphogee Keratin and Green Tea Restructurizer, which I use after weekly shampoos and deep conditioning. But this past week, I left Aussie Moist Conditioner, along with oil, on my high porosity hair overnight as a pre-poo. The next day my hair shed heavily. YIKES! So, now I am trying to find a good protein treatment. I am not sure about the difference between the Intensive Two Minute Reconstructor and the Green Tea Restrurcturizer... Again, thanks much for your input and suggestions.
I’ve had locs for one year. I’ve been natural for soon to be 3 years. This will be my first trim. My splits, and small knots aren’t midway. Should I clip one inch? My hair is about 12 inches now.
Hey, what if you know you need a trim, like 1/2 weeks before the date you set, to get a trim? Because this year, I've set dates,( every 3 months) because I was always inconsistent, so my length retention, wasn't there. And if I don't stick to what I have written, it will mess me up 🤦🏾♀️
In the long hair community "thin" ends are called fairytale ends, we never trim them off just to trim them off. We're talking knee and ankle length hair here, though. :) It's a whole different world, but we have a couple 4 type girls among us, one of which has just reached classic length (over the bum length) with a relaxer in.

I just trimmed mine last week. I had to trim a lot because it was really bad. But now it is better.
You are so right. it is better to trim to help improve hair health

My last trim was in August. And I NEEDED it (splits up the wazoo). Prior to that was in March.
I trim my hair every 10-12 weeks. I'll be trimming next week. I usually go to a hair stylist. However, my last trim I did myself.
Thanks for the good advice. Did a trim 2 weeks ago. My hair is thanking me kkk. Easier to manage.
Love your lipstick colour.
Just got a trim last week 🙌🏾
I do trim my hair every 4 months but I'll trim earlier if my ends have too many knots.
I recently trimmed! And I always love how full my hair looks after 🙌🏾 BTW, your lippie is fab!

Love this vid! 😍😍😍
I did my trim a week & a half ago. Ready for the Fall/Winter season 😀

Love the lip color💄😊. Details please?
Thank you! It's Dose of Colors Kiss of Fire

im not sure exactly what day but I know I gave myself a trim over the summer :)
THANKS!!!!
Last trim was about 4weeks ago staying on it!

@@TheTjoy910 exactly which is why i cut my hair so randomly because id see something and be like "nope gotta go" 😂
That's why I stopped doing it. I was trimming too much, so I started going to a hair stylist every season and hiding my scissors.
@@ALove4Me lmao if i could find a stylist i can trust then i wouldn't mind but for now 😂 gonna have to fight it out
Makes sense.
Thanks!

I used to when I had mid-shaft splits. Now I don't

I used one with coconut oil, but I also like Aphogee Intensive Two Minute Reconstructor and it doesn't contain coconut oil

I just trimmed my hair last Saturday because my ends felt yucky.
That time i did a trim was less than a month ago... sometimes i feel like i always need a trim.. i hate seeing single strand knots smh

Depends on the health of your ends
I do not get my hair professionally done. I always trim my hair every 3-4 months. ❤

Should be fine
Is it possible to have split ends but not have Thin hair at the end ?
It’s the only reason I haven’t trimmed it yet it’s posing me off
Like my hair don’t LOOK split, but the way it tangles and knots it must be
You could have mid-shaft splits

I've thought about growing my hair out to classic length cause shrinkage would bring it back up to my shoulder blades. Maybe one day...
@@ALove4Me I think your length is pretty! It suits you. :)
Can you go to a barber
Yes
@@ALove4Me thank you
Oh snap I need a trim bad 😂 I’m scared took a year for me to grow out my hair 😅 I have thin ends ,dry ends, and tiny knots occasionally 😭😭
