One of the BEST tutorials I’ve seen on TH-cam - and I’ve been on TH-cam since it wasn’t even a thing. Thanks for taking the time. Just changed all the spark plugs/wires (was misfiring) on my nieces mustang and noticed she has some leaks on both valve covers as well. Cylinder six had oil on the threads and all the plugs were pretty charred. She was in dire need for a car and got it cheap but I can tell old owner did some quick Mickeys to sell it. Yep, would need a day to make sure I could take my time.
"I just wanted to express my gratitude for the two instructional videos you posted on replacing the valve gaskets on a 2006 Ford Mustang V6. Initially, my partner was hesitant to attempt the job as he is not a mechanic and did not want to risk damaging my car. However, after watching your videos, he felt more confident and we were able to successfully replace both gaskets. We saved over $2k by not taking it to the dealership, and I am proud of my partner for taking the chance and stepping out of his comfort zone. Thank you for your helpful videos, and we look forward to seeing more. God bless."
That makes my day! That’s really awesome. Tell him I said great job. Going out of your comfort zone is never easy. if he ever needs help or questions feel free to reach out and I will try to help how I can. Thanks for watching!
Unfortunately I don’t have one on that car. But, it’s pretty much the same on almost all cars. If has any trouble write a new comment (easier to see it) and I’ll walk him through it or I can send him tech data.
Great video! I am about half way getting all the parts out of the way, I got hung up at the little bolt holding the fuel line hose and had to come back to the video.
@JunkyardJunkie All right it's completed and test drove and it's perfect I'm so happy! Thank you for all your help you saved me a ton of time especially with the bald way down at the bottom which was such a pain and then also the fuel line clip and then letting us know that we have to take off the fuel injector connectors so I did everything and it was a breeze. Thanks again keep up the great work 👍🏻. Mustang going. I bought mine almost new in 2006 for cash and have been driving it ever since, The only problem I've had out of it is the fuel pump which I replaced and then a sensor and that was it it's a solid bulletproof car the engine 's runs like new I'm really blown away by the car. Some people think Ford can't make a good vehicle but Ford mustang is 😀
Very helpful! I want to change mine on my 2011 and save $1200 but my husband laughed and said I need a mechanic to do it :( I know I could do this, your video was very easy to follow.
Thanks! You should do it when you have a full day to do it and then tell him you’re going to spend the 1200$ on your self haha. Also yours a 3.7 if your doing driver side it’s super easy. Passenger sides easy but will have to remove intake manifold. If you do decide to do it I’d be glad to help you with anything you need help with. Best of luck! Thanks for watching!
Hey brother that tutorial was freakin’ awesome!!! Side note, I used a 1/4 inch universal joint on that fuel line bracket and it worked!!! Hallelujah Jesus!!! Thank you for making that pain in the ass task more than easy! Kudos to you! Sincerely,George.
Glad I could help. I have a head gasket video but not for this car. If it would have needed one I would have made a video. But I will tell you know these 4.0 are horrible designed so it is not an easy job. Best of luck thanks for watching!
6:36 I did not unclip this. I simply lifted up on it, pulling it off of the valve cover bolt it was resting on. Then, like @Junkyard Junkie, I flipped the coil pack to the other side of the engine bay. I think this is better because it keeps the coil wire together and makes it less likely to lose the clip.
hey broski, i had the exact same problem and replaced the gaskets and all, only problem is its white smoke that’s coming out after replacement, hopefully its still just the old oil on the exhaust coming off but wanted to say thanks and any tips for cleaning the exhaust👍
Hey brother! Thanks SO much for this video!!! Question… would it be cool to get the gasket from Autozone? Or do you specifically recommend the eBay one? Thanks a Millie! PS - how long would you say this took you?
You’re very welcome! Ya it’s fine to get it from autozone. As for how long, it should only take you 30 mins-1 hr. Hope this helps. Thanks for watching!
I’m glad I was able to help! I would call your local ford dealer and ask for parts department. They will be able to get the part for you and give you a part number. I hope this helps. Thanks for watching!

Hey! Thanks for the video. I recently did this job + snapped bolts ending in helicoil inserts.... and since then, I've been getting a ROUGH loud idle at every startup. For about a minute. Then it goes smoothly without further issues. No change in oil pressure, new plugs, wires ect... Any direction you could point me in would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Then read what your fuel trims are doing first. Always start simple. Also you were carful not to drop anything in while you had the cover off right? Hope this helps. Thanks for watching!
