Why not use a bowl or something smaller under the item you are spraying (in the box on the paper) so you can continually move through your items to spray and not have to worry about the next item getting stuck...

You could but if there's any breeze at all, the pieces are going to go flopping around. That slight tackiness can hold the pieces down.

    Will this work with vellum?

Yes, this is the adhesive that I use for vellum pieces. If using it like that, just position carefully as, when it comes into contact with whatever you're using the vellum on, it really sticks aggressively. You won't want to have to re-position. And, when I'm fusing the vellum on to something, I don't spray the vellum but I spray the other (usually) stiffer/thicker surface. If you get any trapped air bubbles, work them out right away. I'd get them when I started using vellum but after a couple pieces, I knew what I was doing and didn't get the bubbles anymore. I'd try and lay the vellum flat but now, I kind of position one side of the vellum and work my way across the piece like your'e rolling it on. Sometimes, it's not perfectly straight so I just trim that part off on the edge.
