Nick - as a fellow adoptive parent (daughter is currently 10 yrs old, also special needs, home 8 yrs) I applaud your aproach on discussing adoption with your son. You are open to talking about it, don’t make it an awkward topic of conversation, and make your responses developmentally appropriate. You are correct that the conversation will change as he grows. My daughter has wavering emotions regarding her adoption. Sometimes it’s cool, sometimes she’s sad about it, but I always try to keep the lines of communication open. And it will come up at unexpected times, but also be aware of anniversaries. For my daughter, birthdays and gotcha days are rough.
It was so crazy to meet Tim at the TVA line! lol.. thank you for being nice and taking a photo with me. I was trying not to be awkward. The store thing definetly messed me up.. I wanted D23 merch so I got the virtual Que for that store and was disappointed.. then didn’t get the virtual Que for the Walt Disney store at 1300 and I never saw MOG.. just thought it was a pin store. I only had one day and was with my husband and he was ready to go.. so we left at 3. I’ll need more days next time. Thanks for sharing your perspectives.
It was my first time this year and I only went on Sunday, no Honda Center just Anaheim Convention Center; I would recommend it but keep expectations low. I ended the day way happier than I expected, and walked out with a stunning amount of freebies. If you’re willing to risk not grabbing the merch you want, I say go on the last day 👍🏻
I'm adopted and these conversations are so amazing! My parents were not as...well...let's just say that they were the opposite 😊. I will always say this. You both are amazing human beings and I can tell you truly do put in effort into this process. It's beautiful and traumatic. But you both are handling everything with love and it shows!
I think they could make the Starcruiser hotel an actual Star Wars themed hotel. Not an immersive experience that destroys people's bank accounts, but maybe a Star Wars theme with activities to do.

I feel like Disney will make sure you can skip going through Villains-land or if you have to pass through it to get to another part of the park it won’t be super in your face scary. They want happy kids not people leaving cause the kids are terrified. Now not everyone will be pleased but when is everyone happy at once 😉🧡🖤🧡🖤. I’m so glad you had a better time this trip Nick. Think I have to counter Tim's thought on Cars being its own little separate land. Josh D'Amaro specifically said they were bringing Cars to a "re-imagined section of Frontierland," that it will "Bring some new energy to Frontierland," and that they are continuing to "grow and evolve what it means to explore the wilderness" so they're just making the word frontier mean in the parkswhat it actually means as a word. Instead of traveling through time from Liberty Square to the Wild West, we're traveling to the regions that came after the colonial era: The Southwest (Big Thunder), the South Central Bayou (Tiana's) and the mountains (Cars).
I’m super stoked over Villians Land!!! As for how kids will like it, I believe they will love it. They watch the movies they see the villains and they’ll be fine. Also, you know your kids, don’t take them to that area if they won’t like it
I have never been to tom sawyer island. I've never riden the steamboat either. I see Cars fitting into Frontierland in the sense of wilderness. Like BTM is exploring the desert, Tiana's is exploring the bayou, Cars looks like it would be exploring Forest and Mountains.
Ok, so I absolutely loooove the Muppets. I am 45 and they have always been in my life. Started watching as a kid with my mom. However, that whole area of Muppets at HS is a complete waste of space. If they are not going to do anything further with that area the whole space just needs to go. We have a movie that is older than dirt, that no one laughs anymore (went recently and it was crickets) and a horrible pizza place. It makes me so sad that this is what Disney feels about Jim Henson’s legacy, unless there is some sort of legal reason they can’t create new attractions.
Hey Nick, hi Tim So as an adopted, it's a beautiful thing when you hear about other peoples adoption stories. My story was very special and it was private and I was an infant, but ugh there was always something special. The lawyers used to tell my parents that and when I got older, I actually even spoke to the lawyer who handled my adoption. They never charged our families because they said they just knew that we would find each other and as a kid, because my parents had already adopted another child before. May they always use to. We're gonna go and adopt some puppies today. Because we love them, and we want them to become our family. They always incorporated things that showed love family and it was very good to grow up that way. I won't lie. My brother was a bit of a jerk growing up. I'm the baby, so my older sister was adopted. My brother was biological to my parents and I was adopted, so Michael had a few choice nicknames for me. And he also once brought me a piece of an eggshell, and told me that I was hatched, and then my father would say, well, that's what makes her even more special. So it was fun. I never took offense to it but I love families that always tell the children the truth. I sadly had a friend who was adopted And her family never told her, and she found out because of some medical things. And it broke her heart, and she cut ties with her adopted family because they lied to her. Even now, when we're older much older, she still has no connection with them. Her adopted mom did pass and left her a long letter. And spoke of regret for not telling her and hiding the secret all those years so it's lovely when I see people so open open adoptions to me are something amazing. Uh, a friend of my daughter's has a beautiful relationship with her son that she put up for adoption and the family that he went to. I love to see that, but for the kids who were like in the 60s who were adopted, it's hard, I would love to have medical records for my father, my bio father, but when I did find his family, they all thought I was coming for money and they just wouldn't talk to me but I've had a beautiful 30 plus year relationship with my birth mother. And we are very close, so just keep enjoying. That's your child? And I hope the cruelties I endured, and sadly, there were a few, and recently I was told by someone I should not inherit anything from my adopted father when he passes, because I'm not blood, don't let people be cruel. Just keep smiling, ride. Those roller coasters and have fun and treasure every minute.Because adopted kids are even more special because you chose them, and it's a wonderful thing. I was never able get a virtual queue for any of the shopping despite getting up at 4am each day. I was staying at the Disneyland hotel and using my Verizon wireless but I got queue no longer available messages immediately. By Sunday I could go in some places but there was nothing left worth buying!
Earlier this morning, I was listening to a different Disney podcast🫢 anyway they said something very interesting, that when you give your opinions about what Disney is doing remember they’re not just doing it for you or against you. Disney is for ALL ages and so when you think things aren’t to your liking or something you’re not interested in, guess what it’s for someone else that goes to Disney and likes that particular experience. So when something seems too 80s, there are thousands of us that can’t wait for it. Nick seems to point out often that Tim is older, I think that’s a great thing. Otherwise you would lose a lot of listeners. There’s a lot of of us that remember way more of Disney because we’ve been around longer. And maybe the younger listeners feel more like Nick at times. But again, Disney is literally for every age from infant on up. So if you don’t like some thing, or you think it might be boring or a waste of time, remember that attraction is not for you but it’s for plenty of others. There’s always something for everyone.
I think villains go perfect in Magic Kingdom as long as they're the villains from Snow White, Sleeping Beauty, The Little Mermaid, Beauty & the Beast, Pocahontas, Mulan, etc....I, personally, can't wait! My daughter LOVES Ursula & it would be great to see her at the parks more often!
What I’d like to know, and ye guys are much more up on these things, is why they didn’t decide to keep all things Pixar together in Hollywood Studios? I agree with Tim, in that MK is over saturated with attractions and therefore people. They need to spread future projects out into the other parks.
Toy Story 5 ❣️ I’ve watched these and my son has followed Andy’s growth and his name is same . I literally cry at these movies 😊. He’s now married and has two small girls and he’s always telling his daughter to get off the iPad and play 😂 So Andy needs to be the Dad THAT TRACKS ❣️❤️❤️
The no food rule was a D23 event rule. The venue rules said nothing about them not allowing food in. I also had my snacks trashed on day 1. But then I talked to someone who said all we had to say was “dietary reason” and they let them have their snacks.
See I was wondering about that, I have a diabetic in the family and I have health issues that won’t allow me to eat most yummy foods (so depressing 😜) so I’d need my saltines. Ridiculous rule and awful they made people toss food. To be honest…everything about these events makes it sound like too much awful for not enough wow. I’ll stay home and enjoy through our brave TH-cam friends 😉

I think Tim was a little tired tonight. He seemed low energy, or maybe it was just that Nick showed up with more energy and enthusiasm tonight. It will be a shame to see the Muppets go, if that's the outcome, but as Tim said, you gotta go and fill up those seats in the theater, if you want this attraction the stay. All these changes are years and years away, probably beyond my lifetime, so I imagine all we will be seeing on TH-cam vlogs is lots and lots of construction walls.
maybe they could move the Monsters show in Tomorrow Land to Hollywood Studios and put the Muppets show in that building. I do hope they keep the Muppets.
This is what I don’t understand as a Disneyland person who has visited WDW just three times. Why do they need to build new lands/rides over existing lands/rides. I feel like there is so much room for expansion, that I don’t understand why they’re building over existing attractions.
See I disagree with more thrill rides at Magic Kingdom. Not as an overall concept, but again Magic kingdom was started for all ages. And not all ages can ride roller coasters or major thrill rides. I think they’re better suited in Hollywood Studios or Epcot. Or maybe like Tim has been saying, a fifth gate. People complain about Tom Sawyer Island going but want roller coasters in MK? It doesn’t really fit that landscape. Cars I get, it’s not a major roller coaster.
Hot take: I think anything older than Star Tours, or is no longer popular, needs to be sunset across the parks. We NEED to be done with pre-millenial nostalgia. The parks will not sustain themselves if the younger generation does not care for it. Classic ride, legacy or not, it needs to go. I get the whole Walt aspect, but even he said they constantly need to be inproved
@@amy_soucy I mean....yea? To be fair, a lot of the rides with good systems (space, big thunder) can be retooled with a new theme to make it more modern (especially space) but there's a reason Epcot is basically doing this already.
I thought adding Cars land to MK was good, until they revealed where it was going. Why didn’t they announce the replacing of Rivers of America at D23? Because they would’ve got booed - Iger, D’Amaro, Vahle have to go. They are destroying Disney World. They are destroying a beautiful area of the park, when they have all the land they need behind Big Thunder.
I don’t like that they want to destroy Rivers of America and TS Island. It’s like demolishing the Main Street or the castle. It’s a key element of the original parks. Doesn’t matter if a ton of people go there or not it’s a beautiful area just to look at and relax. I think a park needs areas like that and Disney has the luxury of space. It’s not a small park that needs to demolish older areas to stay relevant. Disney has enough space to keep key elements of the park. Also cars doesn’t fit the theme of Frontierland. And why do cars again and not nothing new and unique unique? And Avatar again? Whyyy? 😅 I really don’t care about those movies. Hope they don’t do cars and avatar. They promised us Mary Poppins years ago and nothing ever happened.
I have to disagree with you about Snow White. The original film was bully fuel against dwarves for so many years and now they want to bring it back to relevancy? It might be just a movie but it did, and still does, affect their lives. They have to right to be angry about the way the dwarves are being portrayed in the film and to say otherwise is just unaware
I am so not sad about Tom Sawyer island and rivers of America going. I know people will clutch on to the nostalgia, but Tom Sawyer is so outdated and weird to be in Disney anyway. No one goes over there really, it really feels like it was wasted space that will be WAY better utilized this way
Exactly! No one goes over there but everyone is so upset about it leaving. Disney would have not considered this area an option had it been a popular attraction.
Right and I feel like a lot of the people i see complaining are saying the reason they loved it was because they could go over there and get peace and quiet… because no one was there. Empty unused space is just not good for a theme park. I feel the same way about the Swiss Family Robinson treehouse. I would love for them to knock that down and replace it with something actually exciting rather than just a walkthrough experience that no one ever goes to

It doesn't make sense to have pixar in magic kingdom. It doesn't make sense for the haunted mansion overlooking cars in general. Theme is everything, it doesn't fit. Also, Avatar has nothing to do with California. It's not a "theme" park anymore...it's more of an amusement park. JUST MY OPINION!
I am usually very positive and hopeful with Disney projects. However this Snow White situation is bad. And I don’t normally say that. I just feel like they don’t know what to do with this story anymore. I don’t necessarily blame them either. Some stories just don’t translate well to current times and it’s ok to let them go. If they wanted to tell a story about a young liberated woman they should have wrote an original story and not just slap the Snow White name on this thing. Disney is clearly confused with this movie and so am I.
Seeing those stupid racecars with eyes drive by shouting Kachow! or whatever while I wait on line for Haunted Mansion is going to suck so hard. We could have had Coco or anything else. Incredibly disappointing.

I am a huge Muppets and Sesame Street fan as well. Almost 51. Wish they could add something to that area to show Jim some love

You are thinking of 'baja' or 'dakar' not just a 'rally'. A rally can be in literally any terrain.
What I’d like to know, and ye guys are much more up on these things, is why they didn’t decide to keep all things Pixar together in Hollywood Studios? I agree with Tim, in that MK is over saturated with attractions and therefore people. They need to spread future projects out into the other parks.

I’m with Tim on the Avatar stuff. Never watched the movie, never really cared about it.
Hopefully they do 2 runs of the night time parade like they do for the parties to help with crowds.
Pinocchio sits basically directly on top of the entrance to the tunnel system so they can’t utilize that space

Hot Wheels definitely do Mario cars as there is a set you can buy which is like rainbow road, so I am shocked they didn't have those for sale there!
The no food rule was a D23 event rule. The venue rules said nothing about them not allowing food in. I also had my snacks trashed on day 1. But then I talked to someone who said all we had to say was “dietary reason” and they let them have their snacks.
See I was wondering about that, I have a diabetic in the family and I have health issues that won’t allow me to eat most yummy foods (so depressing 😜) so I’d need my saltines. Ridiculous rule and awful they made people toss food. To be honest…everything about these events makes it sound like too much awful for not enough wow. I’ll stay home and enjoy through our brave TH-cam friends 😉

I think Tim was a little tired tonight. He seemed low energy, or maybe it was just that Nick showed up with more energy and enthusiasm tonight. It will be a shame to see the Muppets go, if that's the outcome, but as Tim said, you gotta go and fill up those seats in the theater, if you want this attraction the stay. All these changes are years and years away, probably beyond my lifetime, so I imagine all we will be seeing on TH-cam vlogs is lots and lots of construction walls.

This is what I don’t understand as a Disneyland person who has visited WDW just three times. Why do they need to build new lands/rides over existing lands/rides. I feel like there is so much room for expansion, that I don’t understand why they’re building over existing attractions.

The thing is that I love the muppets and want parks representation but don’t like Muppet Vision. I want an actual dark ride for muppets
I would love a dark ride for Muppets with TONS of characters and fun things jammed into it.
See I disagree with more thrill rides at Magic Kingdom. Not as an overall concept, but again Magic kingdom was started for all ages. And not all ages can ride roller coasters or major thrill rides. I think they’re better suited in Hollywood Studios or Epcot. Or maybe like Tim has been saying, a fifth gate.
People complain about Tom Sawyer Island going but want roller coasters in MK? It doesn’t really fit that landscape. Cars I get, it’s not a major roller coaster.

Hot take: I think anything older than Star Tours, or is no longer popular, needs to be sunset across the parks. We NEED to be done with pre-millenial nostalgia. The parks will not sustain themselves if the younger generation does not care for it. Classic ride, legacy or not, it needs to go. I get the whole Walt aspect, but even he said they constantly need to be inproved

@@amy_soucy I mean....yea? To be fair, a lot of the rides with good systems (space, big thunder) can be retooled with a new theme to make it more modern (especially space) but there's a reason Epcot is basically doing this already.

I thought adding Cars land to MK was good, until they revealed where it was going. Why didn’t they announce the replacing of Rivers of America at D23? Because they would’ve got booed - Iger, D’Amaro, Vahle have to go. They are destroying Disney World. They are destroying a beautiful area of the park, when they have all the land they need behind Big Thunder.
I don’t like that they want to destroy Rivers of America and TS Island. It’s like demolishing the Main Street or the castle. It’s a key element of the original parks. Doesn’t matter if a ton of people go there or not it’s a beautiful area just to look at and relax. I think a park needs areas like that and Disney has the luxury of space. It’s not a small park that needs to demolish older areas to stay relevant. Disney has enough space to keep key elements of the park. Also cars doesn’t fit the theme of Frontierland. And why do cars again and not nothing new and unique unique?
And Avatar again? Whyyy? 😅 I really don’t care about those movies.

I have to disagree with you about Snow White. The original film was bully fuel against dwarves for so many years and now they want to bring it back to relevancy? It might be just a movie but it did, and still does, affect their lives. They have to right to be angry about the way the dwarves are being portrayed in the film and to say otherwise is just unaware
I am so not sad about Tom Sawyer island and rivers of America going. I know people will clutch on to the nostalgia, but Tom Sawyer is so outdated and weird to be in Disney anyway. No one goes over there really, it really feels like it was wasted space that will be WAY better utilized this way
Exactly! No one goes over there but everyone is so upset about it leaving. Disney would have not considered this area an option had it been a popular attraction.
Right and I feel like a lot of the people i see complaining are saying the reason they loved it was because they could go over there and get peace and quiet… because no one was there. Empty unused space is just not good for a theme park.
I feel the same way about the Swiss Family Robinson treehouse. I would love for them to knock that down and replace it with something actually exciting rather than just a walkthrough experience that no one ever goes to

@@beckystar101 I would argue Splash Mountain is still there with a different IP. ‘Song of the South’ was an extremely problematic movie with racist undertones. The theming needed to be changed.

It doesn't make sense to have pixar in magic kingdom. It doesn't make sense for the haunted mansion overlooking cars in general. Theme is everything, it doesn't fit.
Also, Avatar has nothing to do with California. It's not a "theme" park anymore...it's more of an amusement park. JUST MY OPINION!
I am usually very positive and hopeful with Disney projects. However this Snow White situation is bad. And I don’t normally say that. I just feel like they don’t know what to do with this story anymore. I don’t necessarily blame them either. Some stories just don’t translate well to current times and it’s ok to let them go. If they wanted to tell a story about a young liberated woman they should have wrote an original story and not just slap the Snow White name on this thing. Disney is clearly confused with this movie and so am I.

This is just the same show as last week. If disney opened a super Mario land in California ya would have been there day 1. Making folks wake up a 4 am to book a place in line to spend hundreds of dollars is some kind of psychological grooming tactic. You're in too deep!
I’m really excited for all the changes and additions coming to WDW. Rivers of America hasn’t had a long wait in over 30 years. Walt would have had it replaced a long time ago.
