Idk what these guys are talking about. This is the GM’s fault and Sean Payton’s fault. Was it Russ’s fault they were 29th in defense? Was it Russ’s fault Jerry Jeudy is looking like a bust? No. This is a coaching and roster management issue.
This is a lot of revisionist history. I distinctly remember Wilson having some nearly miraculous drives and extended plays that helped lead the Seahawks to wins in the regular season, playoffs, and superbowl. All of that in conjunction with a great defense.

Don't know yet. Watson was winning almost every game he played until he got too hurt to play. Browns chose to not risk him and sit him down and invest in surgeries and rehabing his body. And it all went downhill from there for the Browns. I don't ever give anyone props until the end of year 3. So the jury is still out on CJ. Great players that have not been studied by the coaches tend to do great their first year. Can he keep it up now that his every move is being analyzed?

Hackett, the GM, and Sean Payton deserve blame for parts of the last 2 seasons. But Russ coming in not ready to play and to lead in 2022 really shaped the narrative for this whole situation. His ego got the best of him in 2022 and he simply didn't produce and win enough in 2023 to change the narrative.
All I can say is, I saw it coming the whole time. When he first got to Denver, I knew there was no way it was gonna work. But when Sean Payton arrived, bro just threw fuel on an already raging fire.

Because Wilson cost them 8 players not 5. The draft picks plus 3 players on top. One of the players given to Seattle was a first round pick (Noah Fant) and Drew Lock was a second round pick. So the Broncos did give up three first rounders and three second rounders a 5th rounder and a defensive lineman Shelby Harris who was a decent player

I think what’s getting lost in bashing Denver for giving him the contract is that I think Russ had a no trade clause. He wasn’t going anywhere that wouldn’t offer him an extension. I could be wrong about the trade clause though.

Problem was they wanted him to push back his injury guarantee and then play without it. Not only that but he declined because they already told him he wasn’t their future.

Here's the difference between pete and russ. Pete went 18-16 since the breakup while russ went 13-21. Everyone was shocked when pete was removed. No one was surprised when russ got cut.

Letting an injured Drew Brees play in a playoff game when Teddy Bridgewater was 6-0 going into the playoffs while Drew was nursing the injury. That was a terrible coaching decision.
