Fished off there many times and had to stand out on the stays as the cane trams pulled their loads past as the cane stalks would often be projecting out a few feet from the bins and would go straight thru you or at best knock you into the river. If you go there at low tide and go down to the waters edge on the northern down stream side you will find old dumps from years ago, crockery, bottles and such. These dumps are all along the river.

Great memories! I'll have to head back at low tide. Thanks Dan!

Oh yeah, I forgot to mention that I totally dig your use of those Google Earth animations. I would do that too in my vids but I don't want to give away my secret spots, lol

Ha ha. Yes it’s my drone alternative. Wonderful that google has made it freely available.

    It is indeed the last.
But there were only the two of them in Queensland that I am aware of. Both on the former Moreton system.
A photo of the other, across Petrie Creek, can be found on my Maroochy Shire Tramways website below.

    Great video BTW.

Very interesting area and history. I've never seen a lift bridge either. I like your take on things and those historical photos were a great feature as well. You are quite the professor! Btw, we're practicing social distancing and we are on mandatory 'stay at home' orders from the Governor of California and you know, I'm good with it. I'm getting a ton of stuff done out here on the ranch. Stay safe and I look forward to your next video!

Thanks Billy! Yes - at home myself trying to keep the kids busy. Glad you’re safe and well. Very uncertain times. Hopefully our scientists can fast track a vaccine. Certainly puts things into perspective.

Great video, love seeing historical place and buildings on TH-cam. I’m from Delaware USA and just yesterday I took my sea doo out on Delaware bay cruising around pea patch island that holds a prison that housed prisoners from civil war 150 years ago.

Thanks Mark! Yeah there's a lot of history along the waterways. You might enjoy the "Prison Island Series" I previously made. th-cam.com/video/ULRuTDUCbdc/w-d-xo.html
