I just got my 2012 Honda Accord 2012 EX-L on October the 5th of this month so I’m definitely doing this upgrade Edit: I HAVE ITTT😍 it looks wonderful. Android 10.1
Some things I learned from hooking up this unit in my 2010 Honda Accord EX-L: 1) Apple CarPlay does exist! You just have to click apps in the Android interface > then CarLink (I was afraid at first that I purchased the wrong item! lol) 2) After hooking all available wires, I noticed my AC and remote control (that unlocks/locks my doors) stopped working. I learned that you don't need to use all the wires. I removed the the adapter/wire that connected to my AC climate control unit (this is the one with the extra red/white cables that say AUX IN). Just use the OEM connection to your climate control, or else your car will act kinda funky (and hot) 3) Although the video skipped the part where everything was hooked up (GPS, USB, 4G antennas, etc), you'll figure it all out eventually because the parts won't connect if it's not the right shape. All adapters were uniquely shaped 4) I don't know what the two black 4G cables were for (they're the ones with a black flat piece connected), so I removed it and it didn't mess up anything. I'm guessing these are antennas for cellular connection (if SIM is inserted) , but not sure 5) Do follow the instructions in the video to mount the OEM display first > then AC middle unit > then the head unit. Getting the head unit on was a b, but I learned a slight trick.. You need to make sure the top of the head unit aligns and the rest will follow. I had to use quick force (like a push/slap LOL) to get it snap in place 6) I did not have to buy any extra parts. With that said, when your device/box arrives, make sure you don't lose any of the things they provided!
Its a good piece but because there is no screws holding it place, it may fall out at some point. Thats the case for mine now fell out once and won't go back in again. Snap on is just not good enough if you drive quick.
Thank you for the video and thank you to those that gave the rca to aux cable suggestion and checking the fuse for the A/C. This unit is great and provides a modern look.
For anyone that’s having issue with sound and got the wrong connector (the 20 pin), just order a rca to aux cable and plug it into the female rca plug they gave you that connects to the new unit. Connect it to the two aux out female rca plugs and plug it into the aux port in the center console. I just ran the wire under the cup holder plastic. Best way around it that I found and works perfect. Also make sure your car is off when you’re working on it, if your AC went out you probably blew a fuse. You can go underneath the driver side by the pedals and there’s a fuse box to replace the fuse. Hope that helps anyone.
I did get a 12 pin connector that has red and white male RCA cables on it. I don't see them using it in the video. Did you use it in yours. Currently did the method you mentioned and it works. Just wondering if there was some incorporation of the 12 pin cable I got that needed to be done instead

Just got my unit in today. After checking all the cables, I noticed that my AUX cable is different from yours. Hey! I just installed mine into my accord today and love it! The only concern I have is that my climate control doesn’t seem to be working properly. The AC and heat work, but the controls don’t show up on the old display at the bottom anymore which is frustrating because I live in a very cold climate and need to know when my heat is working and in what area of the car. Hopefully you have an idea of what the possible issue is. Thanks!
its a little overrated i got a 10" Boss unit in my 09 and it fits where the factory radio is. Swivels and moves up and down and its easier to touch than this one I presume (closer). Also, this unit is said to not deliver that much power, so you would want a aftermarket radio to replace your existing stock radio. This adds up in cost. I payed 360 for the BOss unit, and an extra 70 for a steering wheel control kit. The downside is my clock no longer works and also i can't mirror my phone to it easily without a rooted phone and some apps. But, you don't really want to be watching movies anyways in your car I use it for my job with android auto. I did buy one of these and it got sent to me from China however i was not at all impressed by the instructions and the fact they did not send all the cables needed (the big cable was not there). Just save your money and buy a name brand 10" radio and you will be better off. Unless you fear the clock being blank or having to do wiring (its not hard just if your colorblind) .

@@JohnNguyenVincent hi I tried to install bit something went off with the electricals , have you heard of an issue where the air conditioning stop working, head lights are not working, central locking stopped working and dashboard lights when you turn on the lights at night are not working. I tried and got the fuse check, not sure what was wrong
Theres so many of these types for honda accord. So many brands. Is the android version important? Theres 9.1 android os version to 10.1 etcc. Which one should be the best or best brand cause all of them looks and function the sane
Hi John! Your tutorial was very inspirational for me; great job! I have a couple of issue with AUX I thing I don't have an entrance for it 🙄. What I need to do now
I would check if you have a factory navigation system. It could be on the back of the unit.
I need that on my 2012 Accord
Does it work for regular 8th gen accords or only crosstours ?
Yes sir available you can connect to me i can we have all kinds of Android navigate systems Dubai
@@ronaldoruano yes sir
@@TEYESDUBAI hi,
Do you provide the aux cable for Android head unit with Honda accord SE 2012 which gas single cd oem radio?
That is absolutely awesome. So where does the usb cable come from? The driver side? How well does it work? Any lag? Or anything? Do you still have the bottom storage space still available after relocating the volume display? I got a 2012 Accord coupe i4. I guess it should work on mine as well.
Also, the big screen on top, how did you secure that? Screws?
Looks slick. I couldn’t justify the price though especially being a Chinese off brand company, comparatively to doing a regular replacement with something like a Kenwood or Pioneer
How much is the kenwood or the pioneer ?
If you have model number will be fantastic
true pricey af
Does this work if the accord already has a navigation system ?
I don't think so since the space for installing the unit would be different
Would you rather get this over the daisata head unit?
Lmao im glad that there is this option now back in 2012 i was going to install the big one that replaced the whole ac unit and such and my friend was like are you dumb you just got this car
Love it video. Will you be doing a video on Nissan Sentra 2017?
I need to find one local 😔
I wish i was close by🥲
look on a sentra lil noy thisis for big boy honda drivers no tcrappy sentra lmao
Pedí por ebay esa misma pantalla , espero instalarlo bien mirando tu video 😅
Fantastic! Just bought an 08 Accord and need my Apple Car play and this looks like the perfect solution....now when can you make it up to Washington state to install it? :)
no cap, cause a lot of this is just over my current skill set
Wow such an amazing outstanding video. I’m wondering how much this job will cost??
How much do people usually charge to do the install and to buy the apple car play
I think this video is great I just wished he really showed working through with the wires especially plugging in the wires. But great video I may upgrade my Honda
would you take iDoing over Dasaita based on all of your experiences?
Thanks!
What is your location? I would definitely pay you for this same installation in my 09 accord !!
I just bought a Honda Accord 2012 and it came up with this radio so I need to figured out how it work with all the buttons on the panel 🙏
Can I fit this in my 2008 Honda Accord coupe
Hello, I am a little late to this upgrade. I was wondering if there’s anything newer/better than this given this video is 2 years old?
I thought it said OLED on the title. I was about to ask where and how much? 😂
You are a god! Thank you so much for this
I want to do this to my Accord but scared I’ll mess something up 😭
Lol, you'll be alright.
iT'S simple after you do it for a while, just take your time. Took an hour my first time now I can do it in 15mins
its a little overrated i got a 10" Boss unit in my 09 and it fits where the factory radio is.
@@justshady taking everything out looked easy but then he started talking about all the cables and crap and I got confused and lost all my confidence in trying myself
@@justshady just installed it for the first time. Yesterday took me 4 hours but today I redid it for fun and finished in 30 mins 💀
Does the new head unit get secured with screws? or does it just mount like that. i’ve seen reviews that people said and that its fallen off before. And also can a backup camera connect to it? if so which one is recommended?
YEEEEEAAAAAHHHHHHHHH BOIIIIIIIII
makes the car look 1000000000x better so dopee honda for fuckin life
I was able to hook everything up and it looks great and works but my steering wheel buttons stopped working. Any ideas? Thanks for the video!
Did you fix this, now my steering wheel command contro lboth old and new radio :(
What is the separate harness for? Do I need it? I just purchased my screen and don’t want to take apart everything to find out I need a missing part.
Hey John, you’re amazing man. This video, your direction and dedication is awesome. Question. Do I need to order the orange Clip things? Also, can a backup cam be added? Again, incredible video.
Orange tool is included and yes you can add a camera for about 20 bucks!
@@JohnNguyenVincent John, I was able to install this bc of your video and the confidence you gave me. One of the guys at my work paid $1,200 to have someone do it for him. Besides the hiss/grounding, my install almost perfect. You're a legend, dude. Thanks!
@@JohnNguyenVincent how do you add it?
The fitment looks super nicee. Wondering if the cd player still works with the headunit?
Yeah everything still works even steering wheel controls still work with everything too
I installed one on my 2011 Accord and the CD works fine
Awesome vid!!!
Thanks, I hope it helps!
Question where did you get the bottom platic cover to mount the lcd screen(the one that used to be at the top).
It came with the kit
Absolutely great tutorial
thank you!
This one has wireless car play or do I have to get a separate price for it
Just set mine up it’s built in wireless CarPlay
@@Solely_Kixkz was it hard to do? Gonna install mine tomorrow
Any suggestions on a more affordable CarPlay head unit?
My head unit is loose and keeps coming off and idk how to fix it in. Can someone help ?
May need to replace the plastic plate/frame which hold the unit.
Did you find a solution to this? The clips don't seem to fit properly on mine, so the head unit doesn't fasten to the dashboard.
@@aflyingcougar I ended up hot gluing it bro and it’s all set now
@@Shiroyashasama I used the same method. But I don't think it is reliable solution,so I decide to buy other type of head Unit to replace it.
@@fenggu2767 like which one ?
Just got an 2011 Honda accord coupe EX-L 4cylinder nothing crazy in the engine but would love to do some modifications, this looks awesome also eventually some performance boost and turbo chargers or maybe even engine swap but all in due time
@John Nguyen, do you need to get a separate harness for wiring or is that included as well?
Did you find the anwser?
Just set mine up LOVE IT 😍
Does it have wireless CarPlay?
Hi John, Thanks for the video. This gave a good idea. I have Honda Accord 2009 LX model. I bought similar product. but the Aux cable is different. Need some help. Please let me know how to reach you.
did u figure it out
Oh man, so many of got the same problem.
Do all the Y harness wires and the clear plastic for covering the old screen and everything needed , come with the purchase of the new unit?
I bought it and i have 2 issues:
Bluetooth connection works well with music
Bluetooth connection with phone calls i can't hear anything but mic is working and the can hear me
The other issue is android auto is only working wired, not working wireless
Is it the same with Apple CarPlay? Or does CarPlay work wirelessly?
@@josed7869 wireless carplay
Good Video, where are you located. I have a 2011 Accord, and was wondering if you do installations?
are you able to install a backup camera on this setup?
Yup
dont be afraid of wiring one of those up I did and it was one of the easiest things I ever done electrically
@@ItsTheLemur you connect the trip wire for the reverse light to the wire that goes with the AV cable. It should be a small wire thst goes with the very long video wire. There should be a tag for the harness which explans which one is the reverse trip wire. Should be in the manual. Its not difficult.
Great video! Did you say it works on a 2008 accord? Also to confirm, does it allow u to charge an apple iphone via lightning to usb, while listening to music or making calls or using carplay wirelessly?
different countries have different model years. So if it looks like the same interior than it should work.
And yeah you can do all of the above.
@@JohnNguyenVincent thanks
Where do u get the trim piece for the bottom
I’m sometimes very hesitant to buy from a brand I don’t know especially when not many reviews are given. How has this unit responded for you after the years?
Great video! Will you be doing a 2012 Kia Optima SX head unit any time soon?
I actually really want to do that car. I hope i can get my hands on one and i will!
Man it’s a lot for Kias man I got mines done up system and everything
Bypassed the factory amp for more sound
I have purchased this unit and install went great. However, my review camera does not display on screen. I wired in the reverse light trigger and that works, just no picture from the camera. I even plugged the yellow video jack into an external monitor and the video showed up fine there. I am wondering if I have a defective video cable jack on the unit or there is a setting I am missing?
How do you get the top part to clip in?
my unit is weird, music through car play consistently glitches out and maps freezes... any advice? already checked all connections
Does everything you need come with the unit or do you need to buy it separately ?
Everything you need comes in the box just got mine today

Do know if I’m doing something wrong but is there a reason I’m struggling getting my headunit to stay latched in? It slowly keeps falling out overtime
As much as I love the look, I don't like that now you have 2 radios or 2 units. But it does look very clean.
would definitely ask you whether you would take a iDoing or Joying or Dasaita! Dasaita has PX6 while these have UIS7862. Could you tell us what the differences are? Pros and Cons?
Man this is sick AF and plan to put it in my 2010 ex. Just wonder would you do anything to make it more theft proof or beef up security? I’m just worried about someone breaking my window and stealing it. 🙏 thank you.
Have you done a dual din ( top and bottom) monitor install? My question is, how to get them both to work. My idea comes from the 350Z setup, and I wanted to do that in my 2011 Accord. Any thoughts on that.
Yeah you can definitely do something like that but it's so niche.
Actually on my nsx, my friend wants me to do a android double din up in the "oem navigation radio pod" location and then keep the stock oem radio.
Hey great vid ! how’s the head unit is it still working good ?
Great tutorial!!! What is the model number of this unit? I only see Android units at the iDoing store. We need the Apple CarPlay model as you have.

Great job man can you show how to connect with back up camera also.
Thanks for teaching us how to install a monitor to the car!! But can you do a video on how to connect a iPhone of any kind to a Honda Accord without using the monitor?
I’ve used a previous version of this since 2009. Simple direct connection for sound. But the CarPlay option does look better.
Dang, I wish you were in GA to hook mines up , I know I wouldn’t able to do it, awesome !! I have a 2010 Honda Accord
This year of honda accord is more difficult to do. They are generally not this difficult!
Wow … I have a question… will it be same procedure on Honda crosstour as well?
Just go mine today and so far I’m loving it. But mine seems to missing the bag of screws to close off the back of the unit and the mini display
