Man, crazy to think how different the experience would've been in a large city. I'd honestly love to exchange with a student and see how public school in a major city compares to it in a town in the Czech Republic.

When he says that it can get to 100° in America you gotta remember that it changes drastically if you go somewhere else. For example, in new York it never gets hotter than 90°. In Anchorage the maximum you'll ever get is probably 70°
From what I’ve picked up from Americans I’ve met in England. Also from relatives and friends opinions after visiting. You are way more positive than we are here in the UK. You have much more space but there’s more segregation between races. You have everything there as it’s much larger than the whole of the European continent. I think it’s easier to be successful out there. I wish I had moved out there when younger. I have an auntie and uncle who emigrated in the sixties. They only come back to visit and buy clothes. As they have lots of air miles and say the clothes are better quality over here in the UK.
I'm going to say this even though it's 6 months late. You're definitely not going to see major segregation in the USA. The reason Americans are probably happier is because the whole of the USA has amazing weather and many different types of climates with the tundra, Rainforests, Tropical Rainforests Deserts, Swamps, Mountain Ranges, Plains etc... All being within our borders as well as our States being like their own countries within the country with them all having a different culture, Accent, Different official languages etc... You also have to see that the American culture is a Culture made up of cultures from around the world as well and i mean a person can travel from the freezing weather of Alaska to the warm weather of Hawai'i or even the humid weather of Louisiana without a passport or even by Car (In the mainland 48 States) even though it may take you 4,8,10,12,14 hours for you to get to that destination and with it being like you've traveled to a whole other country with how different some states can be. I also have to agree that Clothes outside of the USA are way better than in the USA (I don't really know exactly why) Also its not easy to become successful in the USA but there are opportunities around every corner you just have to look for them.

"Their education is really poor" Yup. And I'm blaming the education system. Like, I know the quadratic formula: x equals negative b, plus or minus the square root of b squared minus 4 a c, all over 2 a. But I don't know how to function in society once I graduate. I also don't know how to freaking spell to save my life because they are literally like: here's the word. I'm only going to show this to you once. Got it? No? Oh well. Go and try to function now. Well, that's my school at least. Also, the majority of us are depressed, stressed, sleep-deprived, anxious, dead inside, and dehydrated. What state is this in? The education system varies from state to state. Based upon the Pisa international student ranking study, the U.S. and Czech Republic scored similar overall in math, reading and science...
This was shot in North Carolina. I don't doubt that what you're saying is true, but I do agree that most of the students at our school aren't very intelligent. I'm only speaking for our school in particular, so I'm not trying to say anything about the American or North Carolinian school system in general. Matej's opinion was formed after spending one year in one American high school, so I don't know if he can accurately judge the nation as a whole either.
As my friend Garret said, my opinion was only made from one high school after one year..Even in Czech every school is different and I have no idea if my school in NC was a normal high school or not..
Well at least you're aware of this and are being objective...I've seen exchange students have negative experiences and then blame and judge all 1/3 of a billion Americans...and then I've seen exchange students understand that one negative experience is not reflective of the entire nation and American society...So thanks for being aware and unbiased! :D
This is typically an American college freshman syndrome: I'm so smart and everyone else is so dumb. Usually, maturity changes that young way of thinking. People are smart in all sorts of ways, sometimes in ways that aren't immediately apparent.
+Steve Finlay it is difference between "smart" and "educated" he spoke about common knowledge, that seems to be lower than in europe, that doesn't necesserily mean that they are stupid, and yea people who ask taht if in europe we can see moon, are not causing impression of being smart
Did they really ask you if we use cars? interesting. The czech republic is a very beautiful country with one of the most beautiful cities of the world as its capital: Prague. I am surprised that you did not say that you miss "Knedel" , my favourite czech dish.
Ha! I don't think he is very impressed with his host country....we are apparently mostly stupid (accurate enough in my case), well except of course for that 10% that might reach 'average' in the Czech Republic. Hey at least he didn't hold anything back. I don't know how we survive without that Czech brilliance guiding us. I guess he does get points for being blunt.
Sorry we are a much bigger country then Czech Republic so there is room for a lot of fat or dumb people, but on the other hand we have some of the most bad ass bright minded people on earth !

Kitzy kat I learned that shit in my 10th grade world history class. That's you fault if you don't know geography. I don't know how you don't know where those places are
+Joe Bob i know the information, also it is not my fault for not being taught that stuff. Its not my fault my teachers didnt teach me those things. Dont you dare blame me for not knowing something. Thats retarded
Joe Bob the american schooling system is retarded
i fuckin died laughing at "they're not fat" while that guy in the background passed by...
This guy is amazing
4:53 is something I would literally see on the office
As an ex exchange student I would have answered all the questions the same way he did
HIS NAME SOUNDS LIKE MIGHTY CASTLE
in my town in America, a lot of the people I know are very smart. But, mostly, there are kids who slack off and dont think of their future. poor kids. I wish i lived in the U.K. :3
wow. i didn't know that. Ive never been outside America. plus, Im in middle school and they only teach us about ONE state. nowhere else.
@Poop Poop bro leave the basing for people who deserve it, she never said anythin wrong about America (USA), she actually said a good thing (her city people are smart)
not every state in the us has bojangles BUT ITS FUCKING AMAZING LIKE WOW I HAVE NEVER
there is a lot of drama honestly that is in some american high schools
What state is this in? The education system varies from state to state. Based upon the Pisa international student ranking study, the U.S. and Czech Republic scored similar overall in math, reading and science...
This was shot in North Carolina. I don't doubt that what you're saying is true, but I do agree that most of the students at our school aren't very intelligent. I'm only speaking for our school in particular, so I'm not trying to say anything about the American or North Carolinian school system in general. Matej's opinion was formed after spending one year in one American high school, so I don't know if he can accurately judge the nation as a whole either.
That's true...If he went to a high school in New England, perhaps he would feel differently.
There is not a billion americans
He is so sweet
We always had reeses and skittles in EU, lol.
Why did he say "i'm from Europe" ??? It's like saying I'm from North America, or Africa, etc.
I hope he knows that Stanford is on the west coast
*Sanford
4:54 "not all americans are far and dumb" far American walks by lmao. I'm American which disappoints me
Did he say "kittles?" LOL
I subscribed to him literally just to be the 100th subscriber
Did they really ask you if we use cars? interesting. The czech republic is a very beautiful country with one of the most beautiful cities of the world as its capital: Prague. I am surprised that you did not say that you miss "Knedel" , my favourite czech dish.
Matej, did you have any problems catching up with the school when you got back to czech republic?
At 4:56 when he says they're not fat and stupid, a fat lady walks by in a red shirt. Lol
lol i though it was a fat guy😊
Great oratory skills for a high-school student, I got to admit.
Its really seeming like American accents arent really strong accents, kind of like a base accent. He isnt from U.S but he has an American accent.
I might have caught a bit from them.. but I still dont have full American Accent:)
LMFAO! That just made the whole video! 4:55
I love this guy
+Faith Ike-Elechi Aww :D
i whas wondering how did you become a exchange student btw ?
He’s so cute omg
@4:57 he says "Americans are fat"... then a fat kid walks behind him. lmao perfect
"He says"
He did not talk about intelligence but about culture
does he know what Czech Streets is?
Did they really say, that they ride horses in europe?
There were even more stupid questions haha
I'm from Australia and they asked me if I ride a kangaroo to school....
Definitely a joke
Other parts of America are much colder than where your at, depends on where you are.
Sorry we are a much bigger country then Czech Republic so there is room for a lot of fat or dumb people, but on the other hand we have some of the most bad ass bright minded people on earth !
Because those bright smart people are either immigrants or foreigners
Lol, Bojangles.
Not sure why a common misconception about america is that we eat tons of burgers and hotdogs.
I think we eat more chicken than anything, and that's not just black americans.
Bojangles is the shit.
The fat guy in the background killed me😂😂😂😂
