Blaze Cap underwhelming due to volume? It's not big so that be expected. Personally I love the tone of all the 0 series martins. I have a baby Taylor and it has a beautiful sparkle.
Blaze Cap Gosh damn guitars always a financial issue! I'm not into fat necks myself, Although I have a 86 Japan strat 62 reissue, it's the fattest neck I've come across on a strat but the quality out ways a far more expensive /contemporary strat. So I force that thumb to wrap around the bloody top of the neck. It's probably why that model of Martin is so good for sitting in a mix after recording, no overly low end booms to eq out. For me acoustic is for small confined spaces and if you want to play a big space get a pick up fitted, I did it to my Taylor, it's actually not bad either, the amplified sound translate pretty good from its natural sound.
Blaze Cap I think it's funny you mention that, I recently bought one and it was actually surprised by 2 things 1. How small it is and 2. How load it was
Nice little name drop here...I had built 25 guitars before I brought one of my models to a meet and greet with Tommy Emmanuel who noticed the low saddle and clued me in on pressure on the saddle and what it does for a guitar's tone and volume. This is more of a necessary evil but you can also plane down the bridge, re-countersink the pin holes and expose more of the saddle increasing the break angle. Not something you would want to do on a vintage but sometimes steaming that dovetail joint open (not to mention loosening the glue joint between the fretboard and the top) can be intimidating!
That's a great sounding guitar. I can't believe it's from 1955. My best mate and fellow player has the al Mahogany new OM but that one seems to have more warmth. Nice playin' Mark.
Mark - Is i possible to do a "Guitar Of The Day Section" on your website? I often cant find the guitars on you site. Or if theres a simple solution to my problem, let me know. It might be that Im not looking in the right places :-P And by the way, awesome show man!! I watch everyday. Much love and respect from Denmark, Scandinavia ;-)
That guitar sounds great! I might have to get another Martin. Laughed so hard at the Coachella comment about 22 year old girls cosplaying being hippies 😹😹😹😹
All mahogany acoustics are really dark sounding. Not a bad kind of dark, but compared to a spruce top it is like you took a seven band EQ and brought the right three faders down to 0, or even down to -1 or -2. No treble, no highs at all. Solid mid-range and low end for sure. Not everyone's cup of tea.
Hey can you do me a solid and play the song swing life away by rise against this Friday for flat top friday. I have just gotten out of the hospital for the second suicide attempt in 6 months. I can't tell you how much this show means to me, it is literally the high point of my day Tuesday-saturday.
Just wanted to say how I red somewhere that John Frusciante bought one from you, and that it's a shame you didn't play any of his songs... And then you play Road trippin'
It’s 2020 and I am rewatching old GOTD videos
I miss Mark Agnesi so much.
That John Frusciante guitar is so cool!!!

I just love the honest and straight forward sound of these 0-15s - all warmth ... no fuzz 🙂
Please don't ever stop doing guitar of the day mark and jen!
THAT THING REALLY RINGS OUT! WELL DONE, AS ALWAYS AGNESI!
Great information; great playing. This has been one of your best. They are fortunate to have you as an employee. 5 stars!
I'll be honest, the guitar of the day is what gets me through the day during a stressful week. Hats off to you, Mark.
Song 1 patience by guns n roses
Song 2 road tripping red hot chili peppers

Nice one Mark. One of the more entertaining demos. Nice guitar.
Oh yes Mark! I was this close to get disappointed but then you threw in Road Trippin! Favorite acoustic and favorite band
Yet another great detail history and explanation of neck sets!
Fantastic playing. I just bought a very clean 1955 0-15 that needs a neck reset. Can't wait to get that done to hear how the tone gets even better!

Road trippin, one of my favorite songs by rhcp. Very well played
Cool. I snagged one of these last year, and had the neck reset before I took it home. It's a little cannon!
Very informative.
Nice work Mark!
RHCP sounds bitchin' on that thing! 👍
guitarcollector008 frusciante is known for using all mahogany martins i just dont know what size, dont quote me on this but i think its an 0-15
Yep, owns two of them. One from the 40's and the other from the 50's.
Great tone! What are your EQ's set at?
I didn't know......now I do. Interesting stuff. tthanks
really like this guitar. Don't usually like the big, bright top end of martins. The mahogany here sounds real great.
Road Tripping sounded awesome!!
hey Mark why don't we ever see Jen? we hear her voice, and I saw her shoes one time, how about introducing us to her.
She made a rare appearance on her birthday on the Guitar of the Day: 1968 Gibson Dove clip and you can also see her photo in the website's "staff" tab
It's my dream to make a trip to the US with the exclusive purpose of buying a guitar at Norman's. I just wish Jen could say HI on camera before that!
great lesson on neck sets 👍
nice pickin n tickling Mark, tone on that Martin is sweet!

Cool One fuckin creepy dude
Assemblage_of_wolves Nothing creepy about complimenting a beautiful and talented woman.
There is however something creepy about seeking out a woman whom you never physically see to compliment her. But hey. Maybe that's just my opinion.
