      I am watching this channel for a while. All I can say is, this channel is a real example of not-to-do things. He has a very basic level of knowledge about the cars. Goes to cheap way, patches the issues. Especially this video is a very good example. What the hell you patch the oil pan, instead of replacing? Don't you know that the crack will extend by time regardless the patch material you have used? I do not even would like to talk about the gloves.

      Considering the other one he mentioned, was also around the same spot & same size.... you are prob right. New, learning or just in a hurry & careless. Regardless, for the fees they charge... imho, should be a lot more careful + at least get anything blood/bio/drug related OUT. One would think that could be quite a legal pickle, if, say... he was pulled over driving the thing home or something & they found drugs, loose pills, used needles, ends of joints, unknown, unaccessable glove box w/ who knows what in it... etc. (I mean, would be nice if it were some stacks of $100's in there or some nice jewelry or something, but..... lol I would've cracked that sucker open somehow before I left that lot. But that's just me) As a consumer, first & foremost... would be mechanically sound. REALLY making sure (only once he knew it'd start/run w/ no 'major issues' ((which I think he's too impulsive about usually & jumps in, spending, fixing, replacing etc BEFORE ensuring that much)) THEN....) it's going to start & be worth putting even a penny into. I'd want to make sure it'd run first. Be sure that oil pan fix is legit & going to stick/work. Otherwise, now... replace it first. He already did tire ahead of, so good thing it started, I guess. After making sure it's reliable, I'd clean inside best I could (have it CHEAPLY detailed inside) Then, wash outside & really check into what's worth my time/$... for best return/sale/profit. At this point, before another penny, see if maybe WeirdBeard wants it to flip... sell it to him for like $3500/quick flip, small profit & some left at other end MAYBE (if it can be sourced quick or cheaply enough/matching) see about touching up scuffs or fender ding. Idk that I'd replace & DEF don't think repainting would be smart (which he usually wants to do) Other than those spots (from here, anyway) looks nice new-ish white color. He or WB can touch up (which WB is great at) & then.... quick flip asap, mark it for like $5200, end up taking $4700 or something, at lowest. A good reliable car, esp these days... for best price is what people want. I couldn't care LESS about those little scuffs on front, not even really the dent by wheel. I'd rather have the oil pan fixed for sure, as the consumer. TLDR: Sorry for the rambling. Totally agree w/ you & w/ the fees they charge, that should be unacceptable; esp since it 'sems' to have prob also be the culprit for the hole in oil pan. IMHO & since he asked, I'd clean out inside for as cheaply as possible/detail.. be sure it's mechanically sound, touch up what you can, buff out, etc... NO repainting, NO replacing doors, entire pieces, etc (unless can get matching, quick & super cheaply) Maybe pass it to Weird Beard for cheap, let him sell it for $5200 ish. Get 'er gone..... Nickle & diming on what really isn't worth it OR a necessity only eats at profits & time; won't ever get your investment back, otherwise imho. If I were closer to them, phew... am on the hunt for something reliable & inexpensive due to a situation I've been put in. I'd buy many of those they've bought, shown & esp the ones I've sen Weird Beard flip so far.. Any day. ~Stay safe all & be well.

Used car prices are going up and this one is in the sweet spot for the extra boost. Plus it would be another video that just adds even more to the profit.

    Dude you REALLY need to wear some heavy gloves when you're going thru a BIO car to empty it out. Especially if there's needles and stuff that carries germs/diseases. Also, it's asinine that IAA won't pay for the damages when they fuck up a car with their forks. They should be towing these cars and not carrying them around with a big hamfisted forklift... personally I'd try to source a new bumper of the right color.

      & super cheaply too. Otherwise, I'd clean the inside via cheapest svc, wash outside... be SURE it's mechanically sound & that patch is going to hold (as consumer I'd rather that be replaced if need be, than some scuffs/dents) I think to not eat into profits, esp now when people will be looking to get price down when buying... he's gotta flip it quick & not nickle/dime on things not necessary or worth it, financially. Clean & flip... mark it $5200 & take $4700 if need be OR... get it to Weird Beard for $3500 & let him do his thaaaaang & make the profit at the other end. Either way, hope it works out for them. :) Stay safe & be well.

    The dealership I work for had a 2013 Chevy Sonic with 135K miles on it, and if I remember correctly they sold it for about around $6,000 believe it or not. Granted an actual dealership is different I know. But still. I think you could get a little more than 4,500.. I would say at least try up to 5,000, that being if you do replace at least the fender. The bumper isn't too terrible but if you find one paint matched for cheap then hey, might as well lol.
    Keep up the good work man!

    The holes in the oil pan are from the tow truck . The wheel lift is close to the pan and with the blown out tire it sits lower in the wheel lift . When it bounces it smacks the wheel lift and cracks the pan . The tow truck driver is supposed to put a small tire between the wheel lift and the oil pan to protect it

    Hi Randy,we would repair front and rear bumper and most likely the fender as well,then just flash in the repairs would not replace the front bumper.Surely if its a clean title done up its got to be worth 5+.Here in the UK we would have got the keys done by an independant auto locksmith,a lot cheaper.I think the issue with the 350z video is that theres a lot covering bodywork on youtube,what you normally do is different to most.As for the sonic is it not a job for WB he will soon sort it.

    You have spent enough! Leave the bumper and fender as is. Take the money and run! Great job with the oil pan.

    I'd do the fender for sure, especially if you can get it used in the right color.

    We have a 2013 Sonic and it’s the most reliable vehicle we’ve ever owned. I’d say it’s definitely worth replacing the bumper and fender, 100%

  • @waltergt78
    @waltergt78 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    Definitely change the fender. Bumper if you find it, I could be replaced too. And maybe a new oil pan, it would give the car a long lifespan. And you still can sell it for $5,500 easily given the year and miles.

    Just put on used fender on it and try buffing out the back bumper and ship it.

  • @stan2719

    No. Kick it down the road. Don't replace the bumper or fender just see if you can get $4500 out of it and if you can't get $4500 just get it gone with trying to make something from it and move on to the next project. You have alot of other things that would be a better and more valuable than a Chevy Sonic. Love the channel and content. 👍🏻

    I'd replace the fender, leave the bumper how it is, not big enough of an issue to make buyers look away

    Hole in pan is most likely from improper towing . If wheel bars are not set correctly on tow hitch . The bar will slap the pan as u drive over pot holes in the road.

    Randy, try paintless dent removal on the fender, won’t be perfect but may make it acceptable. Definitely respray the bumpers, should be very cheap.

    Hello Randy, honestly your best and cheapest way to make it loo better, would be to call a mobile Autobody repair guy.

    Replace oil pan and fender. Use plastic welder to fix front bumper. Should be able to get $4500. Replace cabin air filter and engine air filter. Check/clean spark plugs. Touch up paint on rear quarter panel.

    Also, those Sonics are pretty good little cars. I’m a Ford guy but put my 16 year old daughter in one as her first car. Once she gets done hitting shit we’ll upgrade her to something a little bigger and more comfortable

    Pull the fender out best you can by hand and go to local parts store and get color match rattle can and touch up bumpers and ship it down road

    tbh in this car it does make sense to change the oil pan as its very easy to change and im pretty sure you would find a used one for very little money

  • @Andapse
    @Andapse 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    Randy, you could use it on Touro if it is clean title :) Also it need the change of the OIL FILTER and you need to reset the computer. Second, I think WB can do the front fender treatment if you can not find white good one and he can touch with paint bumpers :) PPS - never throw away coins, it is money too, so it is better to give it away for some kid or a person who could appreciate.

    The fender is worth replacing if you can find one in the same color for a cheap price. Honestly, other than that, just get it detailed and send it on it’s way. I bought a ‘13 Hyundai Accent last year around what you are thinking of asking for this, the most important thing to me was if everything worked and it was mechanically sound.

    I'd replace the fender because that sticks out like a sore thumb, the bumper damage is low enough and minor enough that most people wouldn't notice or care much about it.

    Watching the tachometer when the car was being driven for the first time looked like the trans wasnt shifting correctly, the rpms were way too high and stayed there for a while. But as it kept going to seemed to work ok.
