I'm a loader and forklift driver at a salvage yard. The reason the car was stuck when he backed out. He had the front end to close to the carriage. Reason why for the damage front bumper. He had long forks on the carriage and no need to have the car that close.
I noticed your comment as I was writing mine. I agree with you 100%. I would not be surprised if that driver was responsible for the front end bumper damage

IAA fork drivers are horrible... I’ve had multiple suspension issues from vehicles bought from there... weren’t there when I inspected it but was there once I checked it on the trailer... it’s sad.
Probably how the oil pan got a hole too. Unless the car can bottom out when the tire popped.

w/ antibiotics in the car... A kind used for skin infections, bacteria, travelers diarrhea... ETC. .... ewwwwww! NO car, NO amount of 'content' is worth taking such high risk (esp THESE DAYS, in these times & all) Not like there's nothing in there, where it'd be a lot less risky. The red flags are everywhere.... recovery car, bio. marked all over car, gross, filthy inside, drugs... needles.... All considered, at the very least he should've been wearing gloves. Prob 2 pairs.... a mask... have like a case of Lysol on hand (lol) & hand sanitizer.... something. It's like.... (well, think it was Jeff Foxworthy the comedian who says it best) ..... "Heeeeere's your sign!" Anyway, stay safe & be well.

tunedskillsz yes it does but that is the least of your worries when there’s needles in there. Could easily prick yourself with a dirty needle! I bought a fiesta from copart in January stolen recovered in the U.K and they don’t write if it’s a bio hazard here. I wore two pairs of elbow length gloves just in case and I did come across some nasty stuff

Randy, please wear gloves going through all your cars you buy specially this one. Yes the fork lift driver has no business having the front end slammed in the forklift like that and he pushed it back with the car being in park. Forklift caused that oil pan damage and front bumper damage and wouldn't be surprise if they dented the driver side fender as well. I would have them be responsible for all that! No way I'm paying 3k and let them do that. Good luck.
The white pills are antiboics for bacterial infection which you may well need by the time you clean this car up.

If you look carefully at the video when the loader brings the car out of the yard you can see the forks are pushed hard into the bumper.
Randy the H49 PILL you found is a combination of two antibiotics sulfamethoxazole and trimethoprim. its used to treat urine, respiratory, intestinal and middle ear infections. basically to treat STDs lol!! its also used to treat some strains of pneumonia. Don't worry it cant get you high ( I think) lol !!

by the location of the pan, being next to the busted tire, most likely bottomed out when they hit whatever it was. looks like maybe a curb of some kind.
I had one and I live in South America, in 2 years I had to fix the oil pan 3 times when you see one of this cars, run away from it. They eat thermostats for lunch.

They simply continued driving after they blew the tire until they completely obliterated the tire wall.
I have seen the same done to Firestone, Goodyear, etc.
Just watch some police pursuits where the suspect gets a flat tire and they continue driving, on this car they stoped before they drove on the bare rim.
That jerk of a forklift driver the way he unloaded that car I would have been hot as hell especially after you noticed it was in park when you got in it

A suggestion...... After you carefully clean out the interior of all the debris, run an ozonator in the sonic for a day or so to disinfect the interior of the vehicle to be on the safe side, make certain the air handling system is running on internal circulation as well while disinfecting!!!!!.
I think you got a winner. Get a junkyard finder, fix the oil pan and should be able to make a decent profit.

Touch up the chips and scrapes, it's white and it's a disposable car. Work the left fender damage out to minimize. Make it clean, replace the oil pan and send it.

Randy, Go to a Locksmith keys cut and programmed a lot cheaper than the dealer. Just a bit of information.
Steel weld stick from walmart. Clean very well push in hole let dry 20 mins good to go. I've done it to a Ford mini van with like 6 holes in pan

Oakihomi.. My dad's cousin lives in Davidson. Needles... solid thick pig skin welding gloves are required. I'm guessing the tire and undercarriage damage was from a spike strip.
In the UK you take that along to A&E and they'll clean out the sharps. God bless the NHS.

Go to gm and buy a new key. Dont have them program it you can do it yourself. Put the key in the car and turn it to the on position. Leave it for 10 minutes like that. Then do that again for a total of 3 times. After the third time your new key will be programmed. Make sure uour battery is charged or on a charger. I've done the personally so I know it works.

Hi Randy!, I love the content lately but have one suggestion for the Sonic. As you know the interior has some... faults. If you clean it and find anything suspicious, call the local pd and have them secure it just for your own safety. Thanks for the content and stay safe!

Start it with no oil in it
Oil pan maybe a seal, and tire and new tim, your good, the drivers front fender is minor
This car made me go out and buy my own Chevy sonic!! I got it at a dealer who sold it with a rebuilt tilte! And I only paid 1.9k with 118k miles and it needed just a little bit of work done.
I wouldn’t even replace the fender I’d just pull the inner fender pop the dent out as much as you can. Fix the oil pan and clean it up and send it down the road.
Forklift ran into the oil pan you can see it when you got into all the way in the back with the camera right before you started to pull it back out when you inspecting the bottom before you took it to the dealership
Those compact cars are so small and low to the ground those forks just scrap the bottom no matter what
I would not sit on the seats in case there's a needle embedded in the cushion. I would not touch the clothing (same reason). I would not touch the carpet (same reason) that interior needs to be gutted and the seats need to be completely disassembled to verify that there are no needles embedded anywhere.

When it makes that "ping" sound is to let you know the door is open
Should only "ping" if the door is open while the key is in the ignition barrel.
The thief probably bypassed the immobilizer somehow and fucked up the ignition in the process. Randy will probably need to trace the ignition wires in order to get the keyfob working and replace the ignition cylinder.
Just leave the fender on smooth it a bit frontbumper also put some stickie on the oilpan hole for now and let it clean by a company sell it for like 4 to 5 grant done.

I love our dd 13 sonic, non turbo sedan, 62k on it as we speak ....what i have not figured out if what is the card slot for below the media controls ? They have a neutral slot beside the shifter to get it in neutral, good video randy ...i reailze it an older video but good, was this a 1.8 as well? Best of the 2 motors ....turbos dont last - Mark

The pill is Bactrim, broad spectrum antibiotic used for UTIs, kidney infections, etc.

The car looks like the inside and outside of my old integra when it was recovered after being stolen. It was spotted on the street and chased down by sheriffs. It had a fender pushed in when they bailed out and was left running with no key. Clothes and junk everywhere and weed all over the passenger seat and floor. That engine is probably damaged from being run dry by the tweakers. I was lucky? enough to drive mine home and sell it on.

Be careful you shouldn’t even be touching nothing in that car without gloves I wouldn’t touch nothing in there with my bare hands. You can make a key for that car for around 150-225 depending on state.
When I had to take the behind the wheel classes required to get a license i drove a chevy sonic for 8 hours just like this one, except it was gray and not white.
