King Diamond is essentially the Diamond of Heavy Metal. Not everyone likes fancy jewelry, but those who can appreciate it's beauty never cease to see it's sparkle.
I stopped and closed the video and what do ya know the video popped back up again !.. I couldn't resist to respond. I'm glad it did because I really love this song!!!!
It has really great dynamics. I love the frequent shifts between the clean melodic passages and intense speed riffs. The ending of this song is such a beautiful blend of crushing rhythms and classical harmonies. World class musicianship, imo.🤘
I had the pleasure of meeting King 4 yrs ago, I was starstruck!! King was my Dad's biggest Idol he was literally his most dedicated #1 fan. He had the Don't Break the Oath album from Mercyful Fate tattooed on his entire back, met King's/Fate's bands over 20x and had all of King's/Fate's memorabilia/records/posters/clothing everything u name it plus its all autographed from the original bandmates and King! My Dad was so obsessed, he even had an old coke can of King's with his cig butt in it from 95' when he hung out with him (he swiped it he loved King that much haha!) and its still in his closet to this day! But sadly, my dad committed suicide a year ago so now King Diamond will forever have a special place in my heart and life. Thank you for a great childhood memories Dad and thank you for the incredible music King Diamond!! 🤘🤘🤘❤

I am a professional musician who plays pop, hip hop and rock and my whole childhood was listening to King Diamond and the most amazing guitar play of all time!!! I love Andy's leads and unique style. This band has earned a place in the hall of fame!
Growing up in the 90's I was big into thrash metal and I used to find King Diamond so corny, but now that I started listening to the early Mercyful Fate stuff and was introduced to a few great King Diamond song's like this one, I've changed my tune bigtime. It's not for everyone but he's very unique and waaaaaaay ahead of his time.
Lol yeah I was into thrash and death metal in the 80s s and the 90s and I thought king diamond was rather weak in terms of heaviness. Years later I realized he created very good music - just a different taste from what I was used to
@@brianmeen2158and on top of the fact that he influenced all of the major Black, Thrash and Death bands. Definitely same, albeit I'm a teenager today and was born in the 2000s. I first got into metal through hair metal as a toddler, grew up on that. Metallica, Forbidden, Sodom, Testament, etcetera and after all that, traditional metal was lost on me. Oh my, King Diamond easily has the best vocals of any band. For a man to hit those falsetto notes, not only that, they are so accurate. And the style of his singing, bringing theatrical influences into metal, pure genius!
This world is missing this type of Metal. Kids today have NO idea of how good we had it. We didn't need cell phones to control our lives Just KIND DIAMOND👿
One of the first songs I heard of King Daimond back in 1990....opened a totally new genre of metal for me. And god did I enjoy it. Makes me all sentimental and nostalgic to hear it again now.

Because of the falsetto choice.

A friend asked me what he sounds like and I told him imagine if Frieza from dragon ball z and daffy duck had a baby.

That guitar solo is amazing. I'm speechless.
It's like being shot to the moon on a rocket
And what even more, its cut in a half
Andy was channeling his inner Randy Rhoads during his solo. There's this one part that sounds so Randy-esque.

He's going to be the future King Diamond!!

King Diamond has a voice like no other. He gives me chills.

Conspiracy was recorded with a Marshall JCM 800 and a Silver Jubilee, both of which are EL34 tube powered amps.
Buster McNutt the grit of the tone yet has clarity. Probably studio magic. You can hear both notes in his power chords vs just hearing the chord.
