When I was younger I was like no way I'm changing, but when you actually start to internally mature you look back & realize you've changed & continue to. That's the best feeling once you realize that.

I'm always a sucker for shippings that makes the main character make a drastic development, whether over the course of the series or sudden one (thought they are usually hit or miss). I guess that's why I ship Ragna and Noel from Blazblue.
Huh. I do find it interesting how there are some parts that seem like they'll almost slide right into the music from To The Beginning. Makes me wonder if it was intentional or just a quirk of similar style from the same artists.
Tokiomi would've disgusted with Rin for dating Kiritsugu's son since he, along with most mages, considered him a disgrace and probably would've written Shirou off just the same. Kiritsugu probably would've had reservations given who Tokiomi was and since Rin was raised by Kirei but I think he would've warmed up to her eventually since she has more heart than most mages (remembering she saved dozens of kids when she was only 7 years old).
Shirou x Rin is like Kirei x Claudia. Both Rin and Claudia know that the man they love can't feel joy or happiness, but still try to make the man they love feel happy
There is one important difference. Rin ultimately succeeds in helping Shirou at least somewhat moderate his self-destructive tendencies, and she genuinely helps fill the hole in Shirou's life. That, and Claudia never truly understood Kirei the way Rin understands Shirou.

Even after doing that, Kirei couldn't love her, but still wanted to find meaning in her death. The difference isn't between Rin and Claudia, but between Shirou and Kirei. They are both apathetic to everything and everyone around them, only having one thing that could bring them joy. The happiness and suffering of others. When Shirou helped people, it wasn't because he cared. When Kirei hurt people, it wasn't because he had anything against them. They were both selfish and twisted, then one difference came between them, Shirou could actually learn to love if he let people into his heart. Kirei on the other hand had tried that, but nothing would change.

Of all his loved ones, Claudia came the closest to understanding him, knowing he couldn't love in any normal, human way, but she also mistakenly believed that if she killed herself, Kirei would feel grief for her and learn what it meant to truly feel for someone else, not completely realizing the nature of his distortion. Instead, when she killed herself, Kirei felt upset, but only upset that he couldn't drive the knife in himself and feel her pain for himself. Claudia never realized this about her husband, and she died believing his grief was for her death itself. Rin, on the other hand, due to the dream cycle and Shirou's forced reckoning with his ideals, has a thorough understanding of the man she loves second only to Shirou himself.

Idk, I think each route has its own canon material, what is not mentioned in a route does not mean it is true for other routes. If we see three of them as one(the routes) it certainly feel like UBW is not canon enough (due to the Stay night being the most popular while in HF Sakura was too pitiful). There are plenty differents among 3 routes that I suppose assuming not everything happened in one route was also true in others. Plus I read it somewhere that the author only wrote HF because Sakura was so pitiful. Is that not mean it should have been only 2 canon routes? However I feel like Fate is completed in its 3 parts and I would like to acknowledge the canon-ness of each route. (That Saber can finally rest in peace, that Shirou and Rin can continue to live on with happiness and Sakura can be saved)
