Another suggestion.....check with your dealer and/or look for one that may LEASE to the police. Some departments lease their bike rather than purchase and turn them in every couple years. Some that deal with smaller departments end up with bikes that may have VERY low mileage. I got one for my department that another had put only 1100 miles in 2 years, and saved a bundle. We bought and leased over the years. Those we bought were kept for many years, leases only 2
Enjoyed the video. I have a 2010 Road King police bike that is green and white metal flake color. I bought it new in 2010. The dealership had just got it. It was love at first sight. Enjoy your bike!
The "troll" was specific about the "police edition". Without knowing the specific reasons for the comment, not sure how "troll" is anything more than a knee-jerk trigger to a comment that could be enlightening and contribute to the discussion. But sure
Even tho I don’t have nor know how to ride a motorcycle yet …learning this yr and the RK is my favorite Harley in front of the Heritage….seen a couple of Police RK on my local dealership page and was interested …couples days later you pop up on my algorithm….so thanks
Make sure you take some classes. You might also want to rent a couple of different bikes before you make a final decision. Best wishes on your journey!
I’ve had two police bikes love them one 89 flhtp Electra Glide and a 94 EG , plan on getting a 2021 with lo miles EG hard to find a RK around here in Mo
Q like your review of your Police Road King. I had a 2006 RK and now own a 2022 RK standard. You made a great purchase with the RK, this bike is a work horse for Police Departments even in some countries overseas. I live in Austin Texas and have the RK and a 2021 Honda Goldwing, but I chose to travel with the King for many positive reasons and here are two of them. Number one, it’s a Road King, just the name always gets people attention. Number two, the riding with the freedom of air in your face and our country ahead of you during any travel. God Blessings to you Q and take care always.
I like what you intend to do with the Harley. You are correct on what you stated about it being cheaper, good for you on going in this direction. Enjoy your videos.
Thank you for following up. Many UTubers just move on and never follow up. Best wishes to you on this journey. I may go this route too and I look forward to the journey
Nice bike, I liked that you answered questions then you were able to come up with a few more that you need answers for.... of which I am of no help. Enjoy your time in Florida... Memphis may warm up by the time you get back.
I bought the same bike back in December. Put the small tour pack on the rear and a soft brake pedal on. I also removed that cone catcher from the bottom of the front finder. The 114 motor seems to be a lot better than the 107 on my 2022 road king. I will see you in Pensacola next month.
Q, gotta tell you ive liked the RK model for all the right reasons! I do want to get yhe "police" version of the RK woth wide white wall tires. Not sure of the color yet, I do have a couple of "eye popping" options in mind!❤. Keep up the great work in the "Joe regular" riders to upgrade to "a great rider" status! Doug🏍️🧸🦅🇺🇸🎉😀🐻
Cue, engine guards is another "must have" item on the RK! LED head, tail lights! The 107 is fine, unless it came with the 114ci already under the tank & chassis. I'd be content with the 107ci. Love the fact that you owned up to a mistake of yours and corrected it!👍 Doug🏍️❤️⭐⭐⭐😎🐻
I have a similar motorcycle and added a magnet to my kickstand. I grind down the spring often so the magnet will keep the stand up and out of the way if I break the spring! I also added 13" HD Fused bars, which are the same width as the stock RK bars. Safe riding and see ya in Pensacola!!
Q I love my road police, yes, they do have different colors, I have a Birch White, my brother-in-law has a blue and birch white, and his friend has a black one. My 2012 Paul Road king has a twin cam and it doesn’t have a fan on my oil cooler, I think that’s just on the Milwaukee 8s . all I know is you’re gonna love the police road king
Nice vids and nice riding skills. As a owner of a 18 road king police, buy yourself a couple of degrees cooler and remove the rear jug heat shields, with the police seat they are pointless..
My bike, Prudence, is black and white (birch white). With all the mods over the years, she looks like something from the '50-'60's era. As far as I know, cop bikes have bone stock engines unless something has changed. You're right that used police bikes are run through the ringer. Many of those used bikes with low miles have been used for training, so they've been layed down countless times. Mine has sanded down and bent floorboard mounts. Their clutches also get abused. King George is awesome! I can't wait to see what mods you to to it. If you ever want a matching police seat passenger pillion, I have a pristine Mustang pillion for a fair price. Thanks for the video.
I always calibrate my HD speedometers via GPS. You can go in to the tune and change the pulse count to get it perfect. You do need an aftermarket tuner on your bike to do this, or a Koso speedometer.
Heavy bike.... HIGHLY suggest Stage II upgrade. Harley measures HP and Torque at the crank not the rear wheel where it matters. On a dyno stock 114 is 85 HP with 105TQ +/- little either way. Woods WM8-222 cam with some slip-ons will boost it to 118 HP 120 TQ at the rear wheel and sound great. Fuel Moto has some great cam packages and big list of dyno runs available to check out.
Will do. I've been trying to figure out where to keep my garage door opener....There aren't many good choices! I'm hoping to find the wires for one of the police switches and solder them to my garage door opener. We shall see!
Great video Cue, love to see specific content on the FLHP - curious to see how King George evolves. I gave my 2021 Police Road King some new paint and put 12” Meat hook style bars on it. Being a tall dude you will definitely feel the difference with the taller bars. Sent you some pics to the email account you mentioned
I can't wait to go back. I plan to spend a day walking around. I love touring old battleships and aircraft carriers. I have visited the North Carolina, Kidd, and now the Alabama. I served on an FFG and a short stint on a DDG
The Police Rodeos that I've been to, I noticed some Cops removed the kickstand prior to the Rodeo. They leaned their bike on the curb. I did see one pit stand that looked homemade.
Get the extended and lowered rear brake lever for your king. Being tall like you are it will make using your rear brake easier. I have it on my ultra. Comes from a company called soft brake
I have a 2021 FLHP, solid black just like yours. I named her “Elvira” because she’s from Milwaukee; all dressed in black; and has BIG headlights! Looking forward to meeting you in Pensacola at the L&L event!
Whilst they may not look so good low profile tyres on larger wheels give a worse ride (IMO) than higher profile tyres on smaller wheels which means that your suspension set up needs to be more refined i.e. more expensive. More importantly, this side of the pond at least here in the UK, such is the state of our roads pot holes are ever more present. I've hit some really big and deep ones such that I stopped to check the bike over just in case - all good. Watch Danny Hayes riding down through South America with his larger wheels and lower profile tyres to see what happens when you hit a big pot hole. Like you I have some Ohlins shocks on my 2018 Road King standard and the ride is totally transformed. I have the standard bars set to their lowest position such that they don't hit the speedometer on full lock which I find very comfortable. My days of riding "Apes" are long gone as are loud exhausts, poor old ears can't take them any more; comfort over style is now my preference. Love the relaxed attitude to you videos.
I agree. Lower profile tires degrade riding comfort. I experienced that issue when I went with a taller tire on my 18 RG. After a little more research, I discovored the 19" tire isn't going to help me. It would be simply for looks. I still want to reduce the kick stand scraping
Love the roadking. I agree police bike is much better value. In the past twin cam police bike came with screaming eagle engine ,clutch, parts and upgraded charging systems. Dont know about the Milwaukee 8 you'll have to call harley themselves. Goodluck in the rodeo. 💪
According what is found on the HD website the 2023 Road King Special has 118 ft lbs of torque and 95 horsepower and the Road King Police has 123 ft lbs of torque and 100 horsepower but I guess that could very upon the rpm's and speed
I checked Cycle trader a few weeks ago too. Found a couple. Currently I ride a 2014 BMW R1200RT, have you tried them for rodeo stuff? Have you seen them at competitions?
That remark you made about 16-23 colors, is because they come in solids colors and two tone colors. You can mix and match to get the colors you want. I'm on my third cop bike and have a suggestion for you being yours is brand new. There's a company out there that makes covers for the front and rear crash bars, to protect them from getting all road rashed up. If your going to be down cone training, and slow speed maneuvers they will protect your investment. The motorman did a video about them a while back if you can find it, it gives the company's name. If you can find someplace that makes a protector for the floorboards, get em. If not you could try and make your own. If you train alot, they will get worn down so sharp you could shave with them. If you look at other cops bike that were used in training, you'll see what I mean.,,
I think you're referring to Motorcycle Drop Guards. I have a set that I will be installing on this bike. They are fantastic. I have them on all of my bikes. I've seen some floor boards that have been worn down pretty deep. I haven't seen protectors for them. I guess that will just be a cost of training. Slow riding is fun to me. My plan is to continue training ALOT!
Hey I have 2 Police Harleys and am looking to purchase a 2023/24 Police Road King. Negotiating price now, would you mind sharing what you paid for yours? Thanks
I was able to pick up 2022 FLHP last year in TX at $20k out the door and Motorman quoted some others getting various police bikes at that price in a video last year as well. No trade.
Current motor guy here; you are correct on the preload on the springs. It does wonders. Im 6'3" and 280 and I prefer 3/4 preload
BTW, we host the Palmetto Police Motorcycle Skills Competition (PPMSC) in North Myrtle Beach SC
wish I could make it! I will be retiring next year. That will give me more time to participate in events
Another suggestion.....check with your dealer and/or look for one that may LEASE to the police. Some departments lease their bike rather than purchase and turn them in every couple years. We bought and leased over the years. Those we bought were kept for many years, leases only 2
That's a great idea! I was so stoked when I found this one. It was actually less than a few RK Specials that I looked at.
Enjoyed the video. I have a 2010 Road King police bike that is green and white metal flake color. I bought it new in 2010. The dealership had just got it. It was love at first sight. Enjoy your bike!
I had a blue & white 2014 police bike for a few years. Fun bike and good looking!
That is awesome!
Great video
Thanks!

The "troll" was specific about the "police edition". Without knowing the specific reasons for the comment, not sure how "troll" is anything more than a knee-jerk trigger to a comment that could be enlightening and contribute to the discussion. But sure
I'm not worried about it. It's very difficult to know what people mean with written words. It certainly sounds like a troll comment.

This could easily become my favorite bike. It's fun to ride and looks good! I'll do more update videos soon! Thanks for watching!
I like what you intend to do with the Harley. You are correct on what you stated about it being cheaper, good for you on going in this direction. Enjoy your videos.
This is becoming my favorite bike. I never thought a naked bike could be so much fun

Great update on the new bike, I have a 2022 Police Road King and I love it.
Good choice!
Great video great channel 💯🇺🇸🏍️

I may try that. I scrape the kick stand so much, nothing good can come from this in the long term

I always calibrate my HD speedometers via GPS. You can go in to the tune and change the pulse count to get it perfect. You do need an aftermarket tuner on your bike to do this, or a Koso speedometer.
I didn't know that was possible! I asked a dealer if the speedo could be calibrated...they said no.
Thanks so much, very interesting just before to get my new RK police edition 2023 next week 🙏
That's awesome! What color is your Road King?
Black and white the same as the CHP (California Highway Patrol)😍
They are calibrated if your stock rims are lift on if you upgrade the tries and wheels it will throw off the calibration
The difference in diameter would depend on the size of the tires.
Nice Looking bike . Harley has so many nice bikes it’s hard to choose.
I agree!

Harley Davidson police bike 2023
Love my 2022 FLHP! KhromeWerks 4.5 HPs sound great on the 114.
If youre successful on that garage door opener, let me know!

I’ve been to the USS Alabama Memorial. Spent around 2 hours onboard her. Never made it onboard the USS Drum that day. I served on the USS Guam (LPH-9)

SP/Vascar tracking they been using it for years.I might get down to Pensacola ✌🏾
The Police Rodeos that I've been to, I noticed some Cops removed the kickstand prior to the Rodeo. They leaned their bike on the curb. I did see one pit stand that looked homemade.
Some rodeos don't allow bike modifications (including taller tires). I'm hoping adjustments to the suspension will resolve the kick stand scraping.
awesome brother congrats on this bike
Great bike! Really enjoy your videos.

Speedo is calibrated! Testet it on my EU 2016 😉
Get the extended and lowered rear brake lever for your king. Being tall like you are it will make using your rear brake easier. I have it on my ultra. Comes from a company called soft brake
I'm waiting for my extended brake lever from soft brake. It'll be one of my future upgrade videos
I have a 2021 FLHP, solid black just like yours. I named her “Elvira” because she’s from Milwaukee; all dressed in black; and has BIG headlights! Looking forward to meeting you in Pensacola at the L&L event!

Police bike engines from the factory have the same cam and breather as other 114 touring bikes. You can verify that by looking at the part numbers.
Makes sense. The 114 is a pretty strong motor.
Whilst they may not look so good low profile tyres on larger wheels give a worse ride (IMO) than higher profile tyres on smaller wheels which means that your suspension set up needs to be more refined i.e. more expensive.

The old 103s had a different cam, but the new 114 is the same engine found in the Special
I figured that was the case. The 114 is a pretty strong motor. Plenty of power
That Road King isn't gonna give you an advantage, you're still gonna lose! 🤣
He wins 1 race....you're going down pal!!!

I've heard different answers to the M8 question. I suspect it's the same as the RK Special, but I don't know.
Get the 12" bars. You'll like those better than 10" for what you plan to do.
I'm going to get 12" bars. The 10s aren't worth the effort
The bike I inherited at work has 12". 10" would be much better for me at my height.

@@robertp6950 I missed that! I found the spec sheet for the bikes but it didn't list HP....unless I overlooked it!

Hey Ridding let me know if you want to sell the bars when you change them. I have a 2000 RoadKing classic but still think they’ll fit.
Will do. Send me an email. Ridingandwrenching@gmail.com
Have you ever heard of the navy seals???
I didn’t do that!!! Haaa
I gotta remember that, did 6 years on the flight deck of the f.i.d.
If it counts....I was on Coronado Island during Buds training.....I wasn't in Buds training! Much respect to the Amazing members of the Navy SEALS!!
