@Tian The Rich also lobby with billions of dollars in politics, to undermine/destroy any kind of organized unions. With the ultimate aim to be able to pay their workers at slave wage rates. And the pay doesn't have any rising rate. But one thing that does is the cost of living, and rents. What Nancy means is that the Rich have also had their fortunes enabled in the first place, by the very people they pay to do the work. Now the super wealthy, just wish to become even more rich by making people dependent on them, as their wealth has made them powerful enough to abuse the work force. Any kind of equivalent treatment in society by the government, and it would be called a tyranny.
So yeah. The rich provide jobs, but these days the workers have gone from saying "At what pay ?, and what more can i do for my employer to improve my situation" to instead be saying "At what cost ?, and to what end ?".

In real capitalistic societies when the banks gamble with money and crash the market they do not get bailed out by the govt. There also isn't a federal reserve/central bank in a true free society. The central banks print off monopoly money and rig interest rates in the favor of the powerful interests. Government enables the powerful to bend us over without lube. I can easily empathise with these stories. Sometimes, small businesses are the biggest source of new jobs in an economy, but the new economy requires much more flexibility and lower costs for competing. So many small businesses end up being themselves like part-time workers, and need flexible staffing to survive.

I think her story has to do more with her age then anything, i am 30 and i had a hard time getting a sponsor for a apprenticeship. To add these are tactics that company's use to avoid having to deal with the labor board. Part time workers, Sub contract workers, replace staff when possible.
What company's do want are energetic young people who will work for cheap, the office world has absolutely no job security, think of doing general office work no different then a factory line work except the factory line worker has a strong Union, so when you are young you better fight for a long term position at a reputable company.

    • @Baseshocks

    • @Baseshocks

In that case, ya what can you do when your position becomes automated. You have to build on something new, like in my case getting into a apprenticeship, i had construction experience beforehand so i pushed for something in the related field. Try and look for a field somewhat similar that you can use the skills you have to carry over, if no, the best advice i could give is to try and fight for a city union job, apply and keep on applying. When you are older like me you are competing with young positive people that a company can mold into what they want them to be. Be positive call it a carrier change into a something you are interested in and just keep fighting for it.

Lauren S My mother worked the same way. When I was 15 my brother and I fought habitually over a PS3: we had no cable, no internet, no books, and my mother refused to drive us to others houses, or school events.
My sister suffered considerably from this: 13yo. I said to my mother, "Just pay 300 dollars for a new console, or do anything to stop the fights. " She had the power.
She didn't do anything, and my family crumbled. That year my sister asked me if I thought she should leave to her fathers. I told her yes, to avoid those fights. She did.
It is five years later. I am 20. I am living with my mother. I have no job. I have no friends. I can not afford a down payment for an apartment. In 5 months the law will allow her to kick me out.
The sad thing is. My sister will be graduating highschool, and be 19 in July. He uses her for food expenses, and bills while he owns a self started failing business.
I wanted to show you what happens when you don't have a hard skill out of high school, and an un-supportive family.

    • @BobBob-bn5jc
      @BobBob-bn5jc 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

Lauren S TL;DR: Get a hard skill before you graduate highschool. Maybe your family won't support you in 5=10 years, and college is useless.

for average worker to buy a house or new apartment here is impossible this condition make rental market also expensive and unaffordable for many
There is no job security unless working for government
Best place to live for the rich who don't work and don't pay tax
But the worst place to live for middle class with the over burden taxation

Well I've thought about this for many years, and just 20 years ago, companies would do a massive hire say 8or more workers, then just before the three months or probationary period, lay you off,,,they win, they don't have to pay benefits ,it's like they don't want to commit to keeping employees...
Today now it seems ,Canada is short workers,,so now companies keep your hours below the 20hr pay period, and consider you partime employee. Again less responsibility for the employers..think about it..(even big companies)
So I think we should be pointing a finger at employers.maybe even the government for this little loophole they created.and not at the race.just my view,
