Lost, Out Of Service, In The Middle Of Nowhere: Will Our Raptor Survive?

- The Raptor needs to get some test miles on it- so naturally we thought a day trip through the Rocky Mountains in the Winter Time was the right test. Everything started out just peachy until SOMEONE (who will remain nameless... we will call her..Schmanielle) wanted to go see some ice-fields based on a road sign. Well... needless to say- we had an adventure- and lunch was not going to be eaten any time soon!

My wife and I took our 2008 Cadillac STS for its first voyage since I did all new brakes, lines, everything, and the front struts are shot, but we were blown away how awesome the drive was. We paid $2,500 and have zero rust. We have about 600 into the brakes and another 600 in struts, and we have a super nice all black Cadillac, fully paid for. They are right guys, just get them running and driving and enjoy them, and we're having a blast.
The ice fields are definitely worth the trip 👍
Visit the icefields in the summer, then carry on to Shuswap Lake Canadas houseboat capital.
Icefields are awesome in the late fall. Also have to stop by Sunwapta Falls just a bit further north on that same highway!
Very cool . Yeah a Raptor looked so comfortable 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻😎
Beautiful scenery hope you kids had a good time
Oh my gosh you guys are bringing back to my childhood with this drive. you guys are practically in my old back yard. we drove that route so many times when we went to visit my cousins in Calgary. its been years since ive been out that way but i recognize it like it was only yesterday.
Im a truck driver, and from time to time, I drive from BC to Alberta/Saskatchewan. I always stop at Kananaskis all the time.
I've never been to the Icefields (no trucks), but the wife has, and says its really cool!
Loved the trip!
Awesome tour, drive on!
Ive had 2 first gen raptors and a second gen raptor and they are comfortable and work well at just about everything. I pulled an 18ft car trailer all across america in the first gen hauling cars I bought and had no issues at all.
Thanks for taking us along on this beautiful road trip!
Hey Dan & Dani I was about to stop the video then I seen the mountains. Wow how beautiful. Thankyou for sharing. My wife and I did a nice little tour of our high country here in STRAYA…. Now our high country ain’t that high but it’s ours 😂😂 thanks for sharing once again would love to see it in RL
🎉🤠Thanks for the Ride🎉
I am so proud of you guys... excited to see how far you go.
Thank you for the scenic drive, very nice.
Hey Dan&Dannie
Nice ride, thanks for sharing.
Take care 😊
GOOD JOB!
Beautiful country. Thanks for taking us along
I am from Oregon now you know why I love this side of the continent.
Excellent video . Thank You
Hi you all God bless and have a blessed evening and night
Ford!!!!! Best truck for 47 years !
Great video!
Can’t wait to see it again in the spring or summer
The Athabasca ice fields are cool, in 88 I was 10 n running around in shorts n t shirt. My parents where amazed at the glacier's recession from there first visit in 75
Climate change is real.
@philhubert5505 it has receded alot more since then. My first visit was 76 and it is very different now.
Great road trip. Awesome country side thanks for taking us along 👍😎✌️
Hey Dan and Danielle👋, Truck sounds like a winner for yah. Thanks for the ride along. Have a great weekend!
Who knew DD was a cowboy 🤠 yee yee let's freaking go 😂👉💨
Trucks do that to dudes somehow..
Cowboy Dan rocks 💪😎
high end living, right on good to see you enjoying life
Thank you for taking us on drive to beautiful scenery
It looks like a very beautiful trip. Happy that You have a chance to travel together and take us along. Thanks
Yeah, well don’t bother going there
Hey! That drive was B A U tiful dudes
That looks like some parts of Colorado, gorgeous landscape! 😊
You guys look really great in that Raptor, enjoy. Cheers!! 😎
Thanks for the video.
Definitely looked like a Nice Road Trip Beautiful scenery, Dan & Dani Very nice
24:19 Been there numerous times when I was younger and I always enjoyed it it’s absolutely awesome definitely something to go look at
A comfortable ride and a nice tour through pristine countryside! Danny has a great chauffeur!!
Thanks for the beautiful mountain ride.... remember always pack snack bag and a emergency kit for every trip.
The ride was cool and fun but this new truck thing is freaking me out.... jump back in the classics, man. You have a sweet Tri-5 beauty in the garage right now.... just find a newer Chevy 4X4 with a totaled body but good frame that you can drop that classic body on, and you'll be off and running towards a DD Speed Shop Resto Tri-5 classic truck. It would also make a awesome project for the channel... wink... wink 😁
Thanks again guys & enjoy the weekend everyone 😎👍
If you two ever get the chance I highly recommend a few days in Kaslo BC. Take the route from the south through Creston and then up to Crawford Bay, probably one of the most beautiful drives you'll ever take. Plus the grilled cheese sandwiches on the ferry to Balfour are killer lol.
Diggin the bert reynolds vibe out of the gate lol…. 👍🏻💪🏻
I love that truck!
Great road trip
Awesome video of the trip. The view was awesome indeed. Keep up the great work.
A nice ride in the summer is the Highway 40 loop nice half day run to full day if you stop alot. Some water comes from the Bow Glacier and other comes from the elbow river
Beautiful scenery. Happy to travel with you. Ford - no thanks 🇨🇦
100% worth the drive through the icefields!
Rode there from eastern Iowa in 2016, stayed at the Stoney Nakoda motel/casino, spent a week riding around the area.
The ice fields are cool!
Nice to spending time with each other keeps love
The icefields road is one of the best drives in the world. Any time of year.
Marlboro man Dan at raptor ranch here, dd speed shop here😂(sorry guys I had to stop here I'm laughing here). I think raptor ranch may look good on the doors or a vanity plate. That did look like a cool date day. Awesome scenery. Keep making those great videos. Now back to work and action.
Lol I can't stop laughing at that hat ,Dani why did you let him drive the truck when it's yours?? Great video
I enjoy your videos and I hope the truck serves y’all well ! Beautiful scenery on your cruise!
I think there are way too many sensors on these newer vehicles! Knock sensors, oxygen sensors, mass air flow sensors ,etc .Tire sensors like people haven’t got enough knowledge how to walk around and look at tires ?
This is another reason I drive my old cars and trucks.
A friend bought a king ranch ford with the 3 valve v8 engine that didn’t survive a year before it gave him engine problems and he dumped that turd of a truck and bought a diesel powered truck!
Here in Mn driving 20mph over the posted speed is just what we do. Last time I got pulled over for doing 19 over I got a warning. But I’m 58 and only have 1 speeding ticket form 1992. It also pays to talk to the police here to show your appreciation for all that they have to put up with.
It's beautiful to see unspoiled land guys...Steve
Mopar's for us but we also have a '55 Chevy BelAir and a '56 F100. Thanks for the Canadian road trip into the mountains!!!
Those are great road trip trucks. Mine gets about 14 mpg towing, so that's not terrible. In fact when I got the DDSS 57 from Montana Garage, I drug it back to Spokane behind my 2012 Raptor.
Thanks for the ride along and nice shirt
Riding in through the Rockies in style. Lucky. Myself and the wife did the Rocky Mountain drive in a VW Golf a couple of years ago. The comfort of a Raptor would have been appreciated for sure.
If you guys moved to Quebec instead of Alberta, Dan would be wearing a beret now.
Dan seems to be more of a kilt guy..🤣🤣
Now that's funny right here.
Rowdy rowdy Dan instead of rowdy rowdy piper. That's funny. At least they both wear hot rod t shirts.😂
Who would ever want to move to qubecastan
Quebexico is a no-no.
Danielle looks so happy driving that ford raptor.....she will never want to drive that crusty chevy again....LOL
Howdy, Dan here DD Speed Ranch! 😂👌
As someone who has lived in the Calgary area for 30+ years the Ice Fields Parkway is worth it. However I would recommend going to Waterton Lakes National Park, its like a way less commercial Banff.
The cowboy hat 😂
Sole performance sells a throttle response unit that will fix your sluggish pedal response. They work great. Makes you feel like it's got an extra 100 horsepower.
Banks power makes one that's excellent. It's fully adjustable and it will derate when you go into reverse so you don't have a hot pedal when you're backing up a trailer.
Love your channel Dan, nice truck I own a 94F50 XL 4x4 single cab with the 4.9inline six I love it it has 267000klms on it runs like a charm. If you and Danny are ever in the Salmon Arm are your more than welcome to drop in. Love your videos been watching From the beginning . Cheers; David👍
This was a great buy.
Columbia ice fields are awesome. But you really should take the monster truck tired bus trip out onto the glacier !! 👍👍🙂
The ford raptor is one bad a$$ truck. Bring it on haters.
Ice roads parkway. The best road in the world
Nice views
Great looking country. Great backgrounds for some thumbnails .
That's an awesome freaking hat
Bad battery in tps. Yup great idea!
Dan in his cowboy hat looks like Dale Earnhardt if ya bought him from Wish! LOL! Good stuff, guys. Not a big Ford fan, but the Raptor is definitely cool!
Wow that's cool as hell yeah man too here ❤❤
See Dan you like the Nice Smooth Ride in that truck n Now you need to do a Body Swap n leave that Dash n firewall n floor pan n mount a classic on it n you will love it n get the Best of Both sides , New n Old n I did n I love it 😆
Stunning
Very nice
This is what I picture Canada
I'm not a Ford person either, but the Ford Raptor is the one exception for me when it comes to newer•ish trucks. You guys did good. 😊👍
Raptor owners say that they are great for long trips because of the long suspension travel. And they are very good on trails. Because of that ride they are not designed for serious off-roading.
Nice hat you look like the guy from Broke back Mountain . Lol 😂
Dan's rockin' a Ford gotta love it!
10:18 the receipt on the windshield? Does it cost you extra to go up there ?
I was thinking.. that old truck u bought might make a cool tow truck for all your hotrods!
Danni the ice fields are pretty cool though we’ve only been there in the fall.
You need to get a On X Off-road sponsorship for videos like this
Giddy up cowboy
Change the cabin filter. It help with the smell
New style fits you
Looks like custard’s last ride, with your outfit . Move to Calgary become a cowboy. Looks very beautiful there. We got 4 inches of snow here in Nashville. Be safe
In September you gotta check out the radium hot springs show, 1000cars for 3 days . It’s awesome and only a couple hrs from Calgary
Lived all my life except for the last 3 years in the mountains. So done with them. The mountains just get in my way now.. Got tried of walking up hill both ways.
That ford is growing on you Dan look good driving now give it to Danielle dam it 😂😂😂😂😂😂
Nice Mountain Views
Danallan Jackson....DD speed shop😉
We’ve got a foot of snow in northwest Missouri we’ll send you.
The Bandit and Sally's back.
Stylin' & Profilin' Lost in Canada 😉
Would recommend driving the loop from Calgary, Banff (Would recommend the old hwy) Ice fields, Rock Mountain House , Red Deer.
Cowboy Trail is the best drive in your area.
El Gordo Pinstriping
We went on a 17 state all out west for 3 weeks man i think those mountains are pretty then any we seen i know it a car show take a horse in there that would be awesome
