Love the old K104's. We got a '99 one that used to haul a B-double and now on a semi. Got the Detroit D60 in it (505HP), Eaton Fuller 18-speed Road Ranger gearbox and over 1.6 Million kilometres on the clock and still runs like a dream. Love the sound of the exhaust brake on the old girl
If you want to be a big rig truck driver in Australia just wear footy shorts and thongs when you see this you now his 30 years in the industry and that's all he now's is a road ranger . He is god
This is something I've always wanted to do is drive these big trucks, from being a country boy working on stations to now back in the city, I've got my truck licence, but very hard to find something that will give you a go. Nice video bro.
Its hard to break into a job, Our company requires 4 yrs MC experience as a minimum. With 100 tons on the back they don't want that 4th trailer hitting the ditch.
So, How are you ment to experience when no one is willing to give anyone a go? Also i dont want to jump straight into those large trucks straight away, i only have a HR licence and you cant even get a go at a transport company packing or stacking or unloading or loading trucks to get a foot in the door. Either way, its bullshit.
Specialize BS I know. I got out into the office. They keep asking me to go back driving but I'm done. Let some new whipper snipper come in and do the hard yards. Our company demands high quality, yet they don't breed young blood to do the job. Hypocritical. They just want to show how much they've made for the shareholders.
Specialize Had any luck with getting a job mate? I'm in the same boat as you. Every job I see advertised can almost guarantee that they will ask for experience! I have my HR and planning on getting my MC in September. Kinda starting to think why waste 2 grand to get the licence when no company seems to want to give the new fellas a crack...
Ash, no i havent mate. Im still in the same boat. Ive been told several times to lie, but how can you lie when you will get caught out not knowing nothing. Im as mad as you are bud, its because of the government and its put alot of pressure on this industry, and now its pretty much locked all doors. But then again i know 22yr olds doing heavy haulage and Road Trains. It really isnt fair bud. Come on the facebook site called "Truckin' in Qld" there is 10,000 members on there, and lots of people putting up advertisements. Even with no experience, you will get to know people. Ive had no luck either, but im slowly talking to people. Ill get my MC in October, same time as you man, im falling back to my Trade till i can get a start. Hopefully keep in touch bud, Via Facebook.
i see u mainfreight guys all the time up an down pacific hwy between newcastle an Coffs, Hopefully go for my MC this yea, only been driving roadrangers for a few months, piss easy box once you know them
@@AussiesR6 Ahh yeah.. poor bastard .. lol .. life’s different behind the wheel of a truck.. slows down I recon., suddenly you realise how society is so rushed & in a hurry. Good on ya btw .. I lost my license back in 2012 .. bloody break up & thought it good idea to go to a titty bar.. 9 months I Copt for that mistake. Lucky I had money in the bank. Took the time off. Hunkered down on spending.
Ok,so where were the big tips as indicated in the heading?Ive been driving roadrangers for 31 years & it don’t change. The trick to these boxes is getting the revs right before you slip in a gear.
serious mate?. Definitely a 104 not a k200. K108 and the k108B came after that. the k200 has the jake control on the steering wheel not on the back of steering column like these .

1.6 million on a 20 year old truck is nothing. Must have had a new engine in its life or has been sitting
And people wonder why we love driving trucks. Beautiful. Can't wait to get my license back lol.
@Vivek Saji First and last DUI on Christmas night. I've learnt my lesson. License is back now 👍

Why split them why dont just change first to second and 3rd 4th 5th 6th ect?
