In this video on the Meet Kevin TH-cam channel, Barbara Corcoran, a successful entrepreneur, shares valuable insights on various topics. She discusses the advantages of starting a business and emphasizes the importance of resilience and determination. Barbara highlights how artificial intelligence has transformed businesses and advises viewers to seize opportunities within the limited window of influence they have over their children. The conversation also touches on economic recession, political figures like DeSantis, Trump, and Biden, and the need for vitamins.
The interview takes place in New York City, where Barbara reflects on the city's role in her career and the welcoming environment she experienced as a poor kid from New Jersey. She emphasizes that New York values what you can bring to the table rather than where you're from. Barbara contrasts her love for owning real estate with her son's preference for investing in other types of real estate, highlighting the intrinsic desire to be in control and the satisfaction of watching properties grow in value over time.
The discussion extends to personal topics like marriage and raising children. Barbara shares her perspective on the enduring nature of marriage, emphasizing the importance of staying focused on core values rather than being swayed by external temptations. She also touches on the hiring practices she employed in her business, from working with inexperienced individuals, including housewives, to hiring recent college graduates who bring ambition and potential to the table.
The conversation concludes by discussing the importance of listening and adjusting in entrepreneurship. Barbara believes in incorporating different perspectives and changing her mind based on new information, rather than rigidly sticking to one course of action. While she disagrees with Kevin O'Leary's assertion that flip-flopping is necessary in entrepreneurship, she agrees that adjusting is key and believes that the ability to listen and adapt is crucial for success.
Overall, the interview provides valuable insights into entrepreneurship, real estate, marriage, and decision-making, offering viewers a wealth of practical wisdom from Barbara Corcoran's experiences and perspectives.

Kevin pauses immediately when the guest starts to speak or respond. This is Great! Letting the guest freely say everything she wants without forcing them to wait for you to finish your own thoughts is great. We want to hear the guest, then save your own thoughts for later or a separate video. Great job, Kevin!

Kevin is way less than half her age and already worth half as much as her. He's a really modest guy.
She has no idea his net worth is half of hers already!!

Barbara has hit the nail on the head. I started my own business in 1977, with the whole family and friends telling me I was stupid. Yes I was dumb didn’t know the market, but I know my technology and my skills and offering service that nobody else could, and I’m still in business today I just ignored all the criticism and the competition I just did but I know I could do good. and important thing was to make a profit every year. Now I have 10 people working for me and my turnover is well over £1 million a year. I have accumulated a vast wealth.

I totally agree with the child rearing perspective. I've raised multiple children. It's your job as a parent to create a safe place for them to fail. I use the analogy of teaching them to ride a bike. They are probably going to fall at some point and it's gonna hurt you and them. But they eventually gotta get back on and do it themselves. They'll feel accomplished and you'll be proud for both of you. It's a win/ win. You can apply this analogy to almost anything they will do for the rest of their lives. And you may teach and mentor them, but you really have to see each other(you and your children) as equals. I appreciate all your content. Have a great day.

@@chiragmehta8212 I guess that the stock market is full of the rich, and all of them are propping it up. Some companies having stock in other companies; business to business (B2B) stuff going on too. Some of us have some stock because of pandemic insurance pay during that time. The unemployment crisis, that's how I got some stock I may as well admit it. It seems like anything can happen now, and the Ukranie - Russia war is going to effect economies to. I think it's all just beginning.
