    Why is everything getting hosed in WD40?

      It was used for easier and more correct disassembly of components.

    You can push the caliper back in place with your fingers, can't you? That wind back tool is only for extreme cases right?

      You need the tool to actually get it back otherwise it’s a pain, had to use a makeshift one because I didn’t have the right tool

      @@jordjones2718 I did it a couple years ago without that tool, and I don’t remember having any trouble. But I’ll buy the tool in advance, before my repair, seems like the best plan.

      @@nitrodreng may depend on car model and year, past few cars I’ve had has needed it so definitely better to have it for future anyway
