    i believe that newell is a better product than any prevost conversions.. by far..
    i have been comparing the different companies and conversions for months and in depth about each companies choices of products, construction,detail,engine,transmission and the electronics.. i can tell you that newell is very under rated because if you compare in detail all that i mentioned above you will easily see that they have a much superior product in every way..
    i believe that the reason that people are not aware as well as not giving the credit to newell that it rightfully deserves is because it is not promoted as much as the other products.
    1-they need to explain in detail and make videos on why the chassis is better than anything on the market today,,, yes ,, including prevost..
    they need a some one to travel to camp sites and other shows like nascar etc and show the product and its benefits
    2-demanstate and explain its technology that is second to none on the market..the choices newell makes from the water heater which is the best one on the market the aqua hot 675,to cameras and 360 views, dashboards,technologies for driving safety and comfort , lighting and all other technologies are simply the best choices in all motor coaches.. trust me i checked.
    3-the latest and best engine by cummings that has been tested by cummins for over a million miles which is more than plenty for the users of the product. ) i even spoke to cummings technician and several big diesel mechanics)the engine is the x15 ( 2017 ) cummings latest and improved engine while other coaches are using either the the older version 2013 or in prevost case the volvo with less horsepower and torque..
    the slide outs on newell again is second to nobody else, i invite you to see the interior joint when the slide outs are in or out on marathon and others and see the cracks very visible and ugly but newell you have to search for them very hard ,, great job.
    the thing i can see on all motor coaches which i think they all don't understand is the driver cockpit area.. one of the thrills of owning a coach and reasons is for the thrill of the driver but yet that area is forgotten completely in my opinion, there is so much technology that is out there to make a great driver cockpit area with existing technology.. i won't go in detail at a this moment

    Foretravel motorhomes have the rear steer wheels also, not just Newell!

    • @TheGadgetGuru
      @TheGadgetGuru  8 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      Yes and No. The Newell tag axles are mechanically powered and actually steer up to 21-degrees in a ratio to the front wheels. This is called a "steerable tag axle." The mechanism other manufactures (ie, Foretravel, Entegra and select models from others operate in a passive manner and are free flowing in a "follow the leader" fashion up to 7-degrees. To see the difference, while the coach is stopped, have someone turn the front tires while you're looking at the rear wheels. If the rear tires pivot, it's an active steering tag axle. If they don't, it's a passive steering tag axle. This is a major difference.. This is explained in this video: th-cam.com/video/z27QxzkZpfE/w-d-xo.html

      What I witnessed was the Guru keeping HIS show moving. There have been many instances where I've wanted to tell a sales person to STFU so I can think or take in what I want to take in. Sales people are trained or self taught to spell everything out for the average buyer. Buyers either know nothing, have some knowledge, or know almost everything about the product. Therefore, unless the sales person is aware of just how much or how little you know about their product, they're going to explain every little detail to death in order to sell you on the product. That said, this was not an advertisement. This was an overview to show what Newell can do. Hence the need to keep the show moving along in order to engage the viewer. More importantly the subscribers are here to see a familiar format without dealing with a sales pitch.
      There are many, many videos featuring long winded sales pitches lasting as long as two hours, for a single coach, available to you. MHSRV has some great videos detailing new coaches.
      That said you have the right to your opinion. I'm certainly not sh*ting on that. Just thought I should share why he kept the tour moving. Happy New Year!
      Cheers from Seattle.

    The one question you didn't ask is- For a motorhome that big, do you need a CDL?

    • @TheGadgetGuru
      @TheGadgetGuru  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Robert Floyd From what I'm to understand, that depends on the laws of your State.

    • @Blueknight1960
      @Blueknight1960 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      The Gadget Guru Actually if the vehicle weighs 26,000 or over you need a cdl.

    • @TheGadgetGuru
      @TheGadgetGuru  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Robert Floyd It's my understanding it varies by State. For example, if your a registered driver in NV, you'll need a special license. If you're registered in Florida, you can drive it anywhere in the USA with a standard driver's license. Yeah, I think it's strange too.

    • @creaseguard
      @creaseguard 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Robert Floyd You do not need a CDL to drive this coach. However, depending on which state you reside, you may need a Class B drivers license to legally operate one. It's referred as an Exempt Class B or non-CDL Class B. You have to take a basic knowledge test, which is very easy to study for and pass. You will also need to take a drivers test. In California, I believe you have to have a medical for anything over 40 foot. Now, if you are being hired to drive it for someone else, then you will need a CDL.

    • @lkcjr58
      @lkcjr58 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      If eight persons traveling coach , you just need an standard operators license unless you're state says otherwise , carrying more than eight persons class A license is required .

      Ryan P What makes you think I walked away? As a matter of fact, my search continues for a full sized, full featured coach!

    • @TheGadgetGuru
      @TheGadgetGuru  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Ryan P Hmmm? For the most part, I've received some very nice comments from the manufacturers I've visited as well as positive comments regarding my motorhome series from others who are shopping for their first or a replacement coach. While my videos may not be for everyone, they are not paid advertisements and I attempt to ask questions that other first time buyers may have. This specific video provides a basic overview of Newell and allows others to see the designs, features and functions that make this an ultra high end motor coach.

    • @TheGadgetGuru
      @TheGadgetGuru  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Ryan P It seems the type of video you're seeking are the ones where the a manufacturer's representative or dealer sales person simply performs a "walk thru" of the coach. Dealers such as National Indoor and manufacturers such as Newmar and Winnebago do a very nice job with that type of video format, but to date, the higher end coach builders don't seem to produce many of these showcase style videos. This was a major motivation in taking the time to produce this series as it allows myself and others to see inside and gain insight of the materials and workmanship that goes into a high end motor coach. And of course the manufacturer's know the product better than I do...that's why I'm asking the questions and allowing them to provide the answers!

    Show closets ,show kitchen drawers and storage.Please!!! Show a bunk bed version.

    • @TheGadgetGuru
      @TheGadgetGuru  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      As you know, I don't work for Newell and while this video does show the basics of the living space and provides an overview of the company, it was produced on site in less than an hour. It's impossible to cover every nook and cranny in this type of video...but I did my best! I'll add the post production and editing took more than a week! Possibly someone from the company can respond to your request and produce a video of a bunk version that shows the drawers, closets and various storage areas. I will say that from the coaches I toured during my visit, Newell engineers, like most motorhome manufacturers, do a very good job about maximizing the interior space. Creating closet and storage space in a bunk model is not an easy task and I'm sure that Newell has come up with creative methods for this.
      While this is a personal preference, one of the few components that wasn't to my preference was the dash. Yes, the resolution of the screen is excellent and the best I've seen in a motorhome, I'm simply one who prefers gauges over the more high tech screen style dash layouts. While there's many benefits and multiple options with an electronic dash, I simply prefer individual gauges as they seem to be easier to read at a glance and less prone to glare. Yeah, personal preference!

    #1. What was said on this video is NOT true. Newell is NOT the only coach manufacturer with steerable tag axles. My 2016 Newmar Dutch Star also has the same equipment. In fact All 2016 and current Newmar coaches Dutch Star, Mountain Air, London Air, King Air also have this as standard. Does it make driving a coach much nicer? ABSOLUTELY, Is Newell in a class by itself? ABSOLUTELY NOT ! Let's be accurate about what we present. This is a beautiful coach for sure, but to say this is not an advertisement is pretty absurd.

    • @TheGadgetGuru
      @TheGadgetGuru  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      There's a difference between the two designs. Newell has a steering tag axle that moves the tags up to (I think) 21-degrees when the front wheels are turned. The rear wheels are tied to the front and it even works when the coach is standing still. Newmar, Entegra, Winnebago and other Spartan and Freightliner chassis have a steerable chassis that turns up to (I think) 7-degrees. The difference is the coach needs to be under movement and it's more of a "follow me" type of feature. I've driven both designs and the differences are notable.

    • @macrichardson7904
      @macrichardson7904 7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      My steerable tag axle moves at all times when the coach is under 10 miles per hour and also turns when the coach is sitting idle. I believe we are still talking about the same thing. My tag axle is a 7-10 degrees ( I am at work and cannot check to be totally accurate, and my front axle is a 60degree turn. I can supply you with the video of my coach in both processes if you would like. This is one of the TOP 3 reasons we PURCHASED the coach. This is not a finger pointing, just a point of accuracy that they are not the ONLY luxury coach manufacturer who provides this. enjoy the week!
