@@irawanadinugraha1527 honestly? with the heavy emphasis on the quote aNiMe StYle unquote you're more likely to see a lighting fix (if any) than a toggle for the shader ngl
@@KianaKaslana the reason why this looks bad is that theres no adaptive exposure making it looking way way too bright.
future tone's lighting is just so gorgeous on the models imo, i think it's the best in terms of graphics
Future Tone: best shading, and lighting
F 2nd: best color and detailed audience.
I’m noticing that Mega39s’ background stages are slightly more brighter or lighter than FT
Oh yeah, you’re right...
I remember loving this song on F2nd for how vibrant it was, even on a tiny vita screen. You could really see the colours amidst the harsh lighting on the stage, and the colour filter overlays really set the mood. You can see the filters being stronger on F2nd, especially at 2:42. Despite the filters, the colour did not get washed out. Also, despite being on a console with a lower processor, they managed to not make the skirt look like an omelette thanks to highlights and shading on the texture itself.

I get that they're trying to go for an anime look, but you'd think that colours would play an important part in said look. This just looks like lazy rendering with minimal attention paid to each pv in order to ensure that the lighting and all is optimal for usage of ToonShader.
@LXander same! for f2nd , meltdown's cool filters were to die for. and i loved the white filter on x's patchwork staccato; it was really pretty and aesthetic...
Same, I really enjoyed F2nd. The way they changed the PV with special moments integrated into the gameplay. The graphics looking good even for the Vita (despite having a smaller screen), it was popping colors

f on the vita was such a blurry mess but they took that and improved it on the f2nd (albeit marginally) and x was really clear for such a smallass screen
mega39s felt like an entire chacha backwards; some were clear, some weren't. but because i'm a clown i bought it anyway.
i loved how they completely revamped pvs in f2nd. romeo to cinderella's tower? world is mine's cross stage? even in miku miku ni shite ageru they took the fanservicey bits i hated so much and redid the stage. the animations were so smooth. i love f2nd so much...

yeah, I expected better from megamix. I wasn't expecting project diva X, more of a dreamy theater with unique graphics, but what we got was a port of FT with the blurry mess of X, but trying way too hard to be innovative like f 2nd.
I even tried the demo and it looks like someone took FT and just decided that the lighting was not bright enough. It looks terrible, and it doesnt help that the models and outfits are muddy. Not to mention, no existing nintendo controller is good for the game. The d-pad can not determine direction, the buttons are sticky.
@@crystalsugar4136 *some* pvs are okay (by some i mean torinoko city, electric angel, and suki kirai in the comic scenes) because the resolution was clear made to fit the switch. but then there are some which are like "am i looking at coloured rice or the switch" (d e c o r a t o r).
not to promote my twt or anything but purely because you can't embed images in comments, twitter.com/VoidHerrscher/status/1233598792760360961 is what i'm talking about. because the pv zooms out quite a lot it's quite obvious that the graphics are kinda... Bad. Chat Noir is ridiculously /greasy/ looking and my not-ocd is set off because miku's stockings are a different colour than her arm warmers for some reason. toonshader looks ok on some pvs, but on the rest... nah fam.
i feel like the vita generation or even the psp generation of modules looked more /anime style/ than this undetailed mess. siren in 39s looks like a rotten egg, F2nd had the decency to give it shading on the texture itself, ft has a good shader to begin with.
i feel like not only did they use ft models because it's a port, but there weren't as many f models as compared to ft, and they wanted to cut down on the amount of work taken to remodel ft into f.

Since in itself, the graphic style of the scenarios is exactly the same as shared by both Future tone and mega39's
Mega 39 has realistic backgrounds with cartoony characters...

Why couldn't they give megamix the same treatment as f or f2nd? F and f2nd both had a change in art direction so (I'm assuming) they remade everything from the ground up(and even added more stage effects) which is why the videos look so much more cohesive.
Megamix, on the other hand, is just future tone with the toonshader plastered on. They made no changes to the stage and even the models themselves which makes the 2D anime-look of megamix seem out of place in the nearly hyperrealistic environments made for future tone.
I think the best example of this dissonance would be odds&ends. Miku is in the shadows most of the vid, and for some reason the toonshader only allows for one colour for any areas not in the light, so she's practically a flat, "unshaded", walking mess. To fix this they could have altered her model so it IS hit by some light and it doesn't seem too flat. Or they could have allowed for another colour to indicate reflected light or the midtones. Either way they would have had to make adjustments to either the environment, the model, or the pv.
It especially sucks when you can see the potential of the toonshader in the new pvs like 'catch the wave' and 'roki'. Granted, it does look good in ft style as well but it just serves an example of how starting from the ground up can allow for the results to appear more put together.
And sorry I didn't expect my rant to be this long.
I'm a person who has only played 39 and F2nd but I can agree that future tone definitely has better graphics.
The toonshader just ruins everything in mega 39s
I honestly think it looks fine.. everyone is just so caught up on comparing it to FT when the shading style isn’t even meant to be the same. I personally think that 39s has a charming quality to it.

not really. you can clearly see the features on her face after the nature stage part. and the reflection of light on the objects and how defined the texture of everything is is just beautiful in my opinion.
but hey, what can we do. f/x series is more anime style, while future tone goes for realism. both are beautiful in each way. as for mega mix that shader needs to go lmao

Wow this committee actually lasted for a few years.
Future tone is beautiful! But just a reminder that because of the switches processing power, they had to switch art styles because the new one is much simpler to process! So please be considerate about mega mix. Although it is true future tone looks a bit better!!

Normally the toon shader looks bad on most of the songs. This song isn't one of them in my opinion. The toon shader actually looks decent in this song. This is the first (and probably the only) time I prefer Megamix. The only thing I don't like is the dress. It blends in with her skin sometimes and it makes it look odd. Other than that, Megamix wins. I think if I had f2nd I'd probably be more attached to it, but I only have FT and getting Megamix once it comes out in English.
Megamix is literally just future tone but more expensive with less content and uglier pvs, if you havent bought it yet please save your money and buy x or something if you want more content
F 2nd: my first diva game so I could be biased, but tbh it looks vibrant and gorgeous. miku stands out to the background and its just nice in all
future tone: the graphics are stunning, amazing here. although colors could be sliiiiightly brightened
megamix/mega 39s: ...i don't like toon shader. realistic background looks kinda off compared to toon module, and the colors on the module itself look... really washed out. never really liked mega 39's pvs
Maybe they should just add the shadings and the hair pyshics to 39's not the whole thing were shaded like srsly the outfit looks like an fried egg the eyes looks like someone from an anime
megamix would have been ok but they ruined the dress
