I went to the Flyers practice facility and watched him with the other rookie players recently. He was clearly the best player on the ice. I asked an employee from that facility if Michkov comes to the rink very often, and that person said he's been at the rink nearly every day since arriving in the U.S.. He said Michkov is a true rink-rat. Since I'm a Flyers fan, that makes me happy. We'll see how he does during his 1st season in the NHL, I wish him all of the luck in the world.
Saw him score the game winning goal against the bruins in pre season. He looks like he’s gonna be a beast in the league soon he’s only 18 and is already really good. As a fellow flyers fan we really need this I’m tired of being disappointed

G is and was a "TRUE" superstar. Not sure who you were watching. When he had the smallest bit of help, his point total was the highest in the league over a 5-year period. Above Crosby, Ovechkin, everyone. If I had a dollar for every time I heard some knucklehead say "Giroux is overrated" -- shame

It's been awhile but I'm starting to get a good feeling again about the Flyers again. I know there will be a learning curve but the process should be awesome to watch. I just hope the Flyers can get a decent goalie for this upcoming season.
your prediction was 20-42 for 62 pts in 82 games, which isn't far off from what I was predicting too (I had him scoring over 20 but less than 30 goals, and hovering around 65 points) but 2 months in I'm watching this video and he has 11-13 for 24 points thru 25 games (more than half-way to your 20 goal prediction in less than 1/3rd of the season!). As a Flyers fan I couldn't be happier he is almost singlehandedly carrying the team beside Konecny and a huge reason we're even close to a wildcard spot as of now.

excellent deep dive on this kid, the talent this kid has worth dealing with a headache down the line. Flyers really need a must watch player, been too long.
Everyone passed on him for a very specific reason and it’s kind of genius, they talk about his attitude, but in reality, it was more or less that he wouldn’t talk to certain teams, he wanted to play for one team and one team only, the team, his father idolized, the flyers, specially, since he knew he wasn’t going first, y not finesse your way to the team who you want to be on. Since coming to the states michkov showed he’s an outgoing teammate, puts in more hours than anyone there, and is the best player on the ice for the flyers. Stop doubting this kid because your team passed on him. It was his plan the whole time.
i said on draft day when mike grier passed on him (grier is clueless though), that drafting smith over michkov will go down as the biggest draft day mistake in sharks history

Some over at Flyers Nation have discussed the potential for MM and Torts to lock horns because Torts wants defensively involved, aggressive forwards but others have said that they both want to win so badly that they may mesh well. I think all Flyers fans agree that some exciting hockey will get played in Philly this season.
Great video! I noticed a few areas where there might be room for improvement. For example, Proper Video Optimization. I believe addressing these points could make the video even more engaging and effective.

This die hard flyers fan is INSANELY happy! He and luchanko are the missing keys. We're back. As far as his attitude...from EVERYTHING I've heard so far the team loves him. It's still early and I can totally see him having an above everyone attitude (it's in face) but he seems promising. But then again I thought Carter hart was a good guy. Boy was I wrong and disappointed.

You can project all you want and I think the 62 point rookie season is a pretty good estimate I’d be tickled if came out around 80 but I’m trying to temper expectations. What I really want to see is how he improves the power play for the flyers. Even before he got here you can say they are bad all you want the flyers have more than enough talent to produce a power play better than 12%. I at least want to see a middle of the pack power play this year and I almost hate that they got 2 power play goals in yesterday’s preseason game because it gave me a sense of hope.
Very good video. You're on point with his game. Some context to his analytics in his D+1 season compared to his DY with Sochi: He was suffering through pneumonia for most of the season. It visibly lingered, and made him reluctant to make explosive movements. He missed a month of action for it. But before that month long stretch, he was scratched here and there mysteriously for "illness." The only parts of the season I can confidently say he was healthy was the beginning and the end. I think that impacted his Corsi % dramatically, and it took a tole on his manually tracked microstats from Elite Prospects. Particularly on his work in transition. But it tells you how gifted of a hockey thinker he is that he managed to mask this deficiency with incredible offensive positioning, unbelievably deft touch on his passes and around the net, as well as masterful deception around the net. I think you covered the "attitude issues" very fairly. We obviously can't know. From where I sit, though, he looks like a really affable and fun-loving kid in camp. But Egor Zamula, Flyers defenseman and Michkov roommate, has zero questions about where these rumors got started: He's competitive as hell, and he allows that to boil over sometimes.

There are many teams ATM that are dominating the NHL, but these teams are getting much older now. by the time Philly {and Montreal } are back in contention the standing are going to look a lot different. the nly thing Philly really needs is one more top end pick to compliment Michkov. Anyone who watched the u18 world championship, knows how special he is. He was always closer to Bedard than Fantilli or Carlsson were to Michkov.

I think mitchkov's biggest obstacle will be the team he is on. Flyers arent going to surprise anyone like they did last year, and other than mitchkov there really hasnt been much improvement. But he sure is going to be exciting to watch.
