The problem isn't Bedard or his teammates. The problem is the media and the hype. Eliminate most of the the media hype about being a "generational" player, and things are fine. Yes, Bedard needs consistent, quality linemates, but he didn't have great linemates last year, and he did great. Like a lot of others who have commented, I believe Bedard is going to be fine. Part of his problem is that he is just a really nice kid who feels responsible. He is probably frustrated, embarrassed and lacking in confidence right now. I would melt in his situation. Worth noting how strong the Bedard has been with Teravainen/Bertuzzi vs when he's with Hall/Kurashev/Mikheyev.
The Teravainen-Foligno-Bedard line had a 57.1 xGF% as a line and it's the most common line Bedard has been on (84 minutes together). Among lines with 80+ minutes together, that's the 28th best forward line out of 83 this season.
The 2nd most common line is Kurashev-Bedard-Donato which has spent 43 minutes together and has a 46.3 xGF% - good for 167th out of 223 (min. 40 mins as a line).
Bedard is actually playing quite well but he isn't at "carry a line" level yet. It's hard to do that in the NHL, especially when your traits are skill and not athleticism. It's harder for him to perform individual efforts the way that McDavid and Mackinnon did as rookies but he still might be more skilled as a player, especially considering he has the best shot from a rookie since Matthews.

Great players make the players around them better and themselves. Bedard still has decent pieces and veteran presence. Look at last year. lmfao this insane comment. "short time at the top" The Blackhawks dynasty made 9 straight playoff appearances; in the first they went to the WCF; in the last they were the #1 seed in the West. They went to 5 WCF in 7 years, won 3 Cups in 6 years. If the Hawks dynasty had a "short time at the top", which team in the cap era has not had a short time at the top? They dominated the entire era. They aren't the Kings or Lightning. Hell, their first and last Cups were more spread out than the Islanders dynasty.
And "a dark history" is the funniest libt@rd nonsense I've ever seen. The Blackhawks dynasty is the brightest part of modern NHL history. It's the biggest best thing the NHL has ever had. Ratings, merch, views, likes, subscribes, attendance, they dominated all. They were so big that the three biggest stories since the dynasty are 2 scandals involving it and Bedard, sent there by the league in the vain hope of repeating it (and forcing out the dynasty legends to do so).

So I'm a native Chicagoan and have been a Hawks fan all my life. I thoroughly believe that a lot of the media and fans are overreacting to his production. Connor does not have the talent surrounding him to produce at some insane level like Sid did in his second year or even Kane did. However, Connor has made insane strides defensively and has shown improvement in his game despite the goal drought he went through. The constant line-changes are something all of us can and are hoping to do without because you have to build chemistry. But if we are able to get that second piece like Kane and Toews, McDavid and Draisaitl, Ovechkin and Backstrom, etc. all of this "He's overrated" will go away. We are not built to win right now and tho are prospects are really good, I don't think there is one that we can slot in with Connor and have that crazy connection and chemistry. Will they be good, yes, but maybe not insane. In the end this season is just a stepping stone, we are getting another top 5 pick and we will either draft someone who can play with him like that or sign someone who can. But Connor will still be our points leader and still finish the season with 20 goals. Hell he's already improving, look at his playmaking. He's been insane with setting up the ever-changing rotation of line-mates and generating offense for other players. So to be honest let them call him crap and draw wild comparisons because in 2 or 3 years, hell it could even be next year or at the trade deadline. We are going to find that piece that clicks And with our prospects and keeping players like Tuevo/Bertuzzi and our young defensemen (Who are going to be crazy if they keep developing well like they have) our team is going to be a force for another 5-10 years. And all of those people who want to point at his stats and laugh are gonna hate how good the kid is. Connor may have not improved to his liking, but watch him closely on the ice and you'll see the difference he is making. Plus a lot of our losses have been extremely tight up until the 3rd period where they score an empty-netter because we can't score in the third as a team at all right now. But hey despite being last at the moment, we should theoretically be a hell of a lot worse point wise. No need to overreact, our time will come and a lot sooner than most expect it to

They simply don’t have anyone with any skill for him to play with. They brought in Bertuzzi and Teravainan specifically to play with him and Bertuzzi has been awful. Teravainan has been ok but both those guys are middle six wingers that were better on other teams because they were loaded with offensive talent. Taylor Hall would be the obvious choice for a linemate but he’s coming off major knee surgery and is only now getting comfortable. Hawks have some good talent they’ve drafted but they probably need an elite offensive winger to seriously compete. If they stink it up for the rest of the year then they can probably draft that winger but Davidson has to bring in some elite offense to complement Bedard and help him develop. If I were the Hawks I would way overpay Marner in free agency. Marner might do it to play with Bedard, especially if the Leafs collapse again.

I also think the should have resigned Kane to teach Connor. Both small guys, number 1 overalls, both had lots of expectations to preform, he would have been the perfect teacher and been a great passer to let Connor get off his shot. Also having Seth jones on a 8.5 or 9.5 (don’t remember the exact amount) mil contract was a dumb idea for the hawks, I never saw him being worth that kind of money but when you gamble sometimes you gotta loose I guess.
