I concur with the time, it was during the Kohler Internaltional Challenge with Brian Redman, Vintage Weekend, July 16-19, 2009. What a beautiful car, and what music from the exhaust!
The price for this model has risen so dramatically since 1980 that many former owners simply couldn't cover the insurance costs so they had to sell them or risk getting the car damaged or stolen. Of couse, this has never been a problem for people like Ralph Lauren and Nick Mason. Good news for GTO fans: Chris Evans, who recently paid a cool $19m for 4675 doesn't intend to paint it white! It is currently undergoing an 18 month restoration.
5+ STARS! Watching the clips you've posted truly gives me goosebumps! Simply awesome! And the inflection and style of your narration just seems to take you there when these moments happened! All I can say is...MORE! With all due respect however, as beautiful as these works of art are, they pale compared to your daughter! Gorgeous girl! You truly are a lucky man! Thanks for sharing your videos! Very Cool, Indeed!
Morgan .... Your Pappy was cool ... many moons ago ....... He still has good taste ..... Thanks a bunch for sharing him with us...... Your Pappy still is cool... and tell him I said Thanks a Million for his little Gem of a short film.... BRAVO
I always enjoy your video's and commentary. I have this friend Gabor who once owned a 250 Scaglietti Series 1 I think, he regrets getting rid of that car so much as I am sure you do. His stories like Mitchell's are fascinating to say the least. Thank you for all your postings. Some of the History surrounding these car is just amazing. The hand full of guys that owned these street registered cars drove the wheels off them on the roadways back then.
Looking forward to seeing this documentary, one of my favourite cars along with the Lotus 49 and the Porsche 917. When will it be avaliable and where can I see it?
at least the 250 GTO registry at FerrariLife says there were no factory yellow GTOs. I guess the beauty of GTO is not just about exterior beauty but handling precision and overall atmosphere...
Driving every day the got? Big respect man. A true enthusiast and definitely you lived a dream of mine. How it felt to own the keys of that machine? Just to be free to get in every time you wanted? Cheers, James
Very nice video! Must have been a very nostalgic one to make. I particularly like the quality which gives it a rare 60's film feeling. Never seen a GTO in the metal, much less so many of them sharing a track. I guess the closest I'll ever get to owning one is in 1:18 scale; I just took delivery of a replica made by Kyosho that I would highly recommend. Cheers!
I was at the le mans classic and saw 15 GTOs together two weeks ago. What an event :). GTO3967 I have posted 3 videos of all the cars on my channel, I wonder if your old car was at the event.
Hey it's a '64 at 2:48! Most beautiful race car? I don't know, there are so many fine choices from the 50's and 60's; Other Ferraris, the Aston Martin DB4 and let's not forget the magnicifent Jaguar D. But this one was the most successful GT racer of its era. And being able to listen to the unfiltered engine sound everyday is already worth a ton.
I visited my Aunt one day.She worked at a bank on Sunset Blvd.Across the street was a Ferrari dealership. And there sat a 250 GTO.....I didn't know this car.....all I knew is that I was in love...
that's *alot* more than 100 million lol. One sold this year for 15.7M pounds...around $24 million US. I don't think you can put a value on this car though really...considering how many were made and most owners will likely not sell them, it is basically a priceless car.
Modern gentlemen smoke cigars, drink moet&chandon, listen to pink floyd's music and drive ferrari 250 gto on countryside tracks. At the moment i can only afford floyd's music, poor me...
very true.. if i would be wealthy enough to own one on this 250 GTO's i would just drive... and drive and then drive more... is haild by namy myself included as the best GT car ever made .. and damn 39 units ... at a sweet 20 milion ... gotta respect that...
@GTO3987 ha, $30m? no problem! lol jk, a beautiful car, if I never get to own a real one, I will find a game with the 250 GTO in it and make a simulator that closely resembles the 250 GTO, that means custom built interior, seats, steering wheel, shifter, pedals, surround sound, and TV screens as windows to get the ultimate feel lol. I wonder if this car is in Gran Turismo 5...
18 million? psh, i'll own one eventually... well, at least a model of one. God what I would do to own one of these cars. lol I'd be terrified to drive it cuz i'd be so scared of damaging it.
@wdfowty No offense to you,but I will always refer to that track as Sears Point, and Mazda as Laguna Seca.Yeah, I know what you're gonna say,but I would like to keep Facism out of my life...not easy these days.
Will there be a Le Mans Classic this year (GTO 50th anniversary) too?
This is a great video, is fantastic to hear the sound of GTO!

I would kill for that 22 numbered 250GTO ( i am born on may 22.)
Perfect video.
whenever I see this car, I run out of superlatives. best car ever made.thanks for the video.
I love the odd colours on these beauties. Fantastic footage with a nice 'period' look. Thanks! I've added this video to my favorites!
The sounds as the cars pulled away was like a full symphony! What extraordinary music... Thank you do much for posting
Great video i love that car.
It says it's a preview of a documentary, where can i watch the rest of it?

Ahhhh the sound of the 3L Colombo V12 at full song. Speechless.
3:01 was my fav!! Nothing can beat the sound of a ferrari V12!
At last!! How exciting, to hear the 250 GTO as well as see it!!
@GTO3987 thanks very much for sharing your memories which I believe are worth as much as the car itself if not more.........encore merci.
Amazing little video!! This the most amazing car ever built, and thanks for the glimpse into the world of GTO owners!
Looking forward to seeing this documentary, one of my favourite cars along with the Lotus 49 and the Porsche 917. When will it be avaliable and where can I see it?

this car is my dream!!! its full of history, full of passion, great design, it's wonderful!
Driving every day the got? Big respect man. A true enthusiast and definitely you lived a dream of mine. How it felt to own the keys of that machine? Just to be free to get in every time you wanted?

i can only dream of owning such a machine someday.

that sound is music to ever petrol head
Well at least you had the experience of owning a GTO, few people can say they had that. Great video by the way, thanks.
When is this documentary coming out, and where can I buy/see it? This looks really good. Thank You
this is my favourite car. it was fasy then, its still fast now. and it has the most astonishing exhaust note, never mind its perfect looks.
Awesome video...! Thanks for sharing!
the value of that racetrack is in the hundred millions :O absolutley amazing car bet you absolutley loved it

Nice video of a spectacular car!
I think I'm in love with this car
Nice video, great cars...classics in their own time and ours.
an oldie but DEFFENENTLY a hottie & a goodie
@GTO3987 Well good luck with everything! I'll try to keep the excitement contained until the release.
Great to see these cars used properly, instead of staying in a rich person's private showroom.
wait a minute! there's a yellow GTO at 4:13...
as I remember there were no yellow GTOs...
Was this filmed at Infinion Raceway in Napa?
Nick Masons gto was no replica and he still owns it on its third resto. He used to take his kids to school in it, cool dad
what model is the one with a differnt back on it
Any news on the state of the doc?
superb.
The car #22, at 3:25 is Nick Mason's one! Lucky man, in every single way...
Great video. Lucky man to have owned one.
Wonderful!
Oh that makes sense now, thanks
at 4:20 on the left there is nick mason drumer of the pink floyd he owns number 22
only 39 were made by ferrari all of them cost now millions each
are theses all the ones ever made?
Apparently I missed the one at 2:04.
For me the most beautiful Ferrari ever is the 275 NART Spider and I am sure Steve McQueen would agree. :)
Why would you ever get rid of such an awesome car?
Also, why is it called #3987 if they only made 36?
I visited my Aunt one day.She worked at a bank on Sunset Blvd.Across the street was a Ferrari dealership. And there sat a 250 GTO.....I didn't know this car.....all I knew is that I was in love...
I think you may just be right.
Beautiful car.
The most recent 62 model was sold "in the neighborhood" of $26m.
Funny money.
@Phatcarz u got ps3?
I recently watched number 10 (2:52) race at road america
how comes there's two different looking cars? is one newer and the other older?
That looks like the front stretch at Infineon.
If its not to rude to ask why do you no longer own the car? From the way it sounds you loved it.
sweet ride. you're very lucky to have owned one!
and you have a beautiful daughter :D
was your car the one unpainted ? , when you sold it?
Still own it? saw a bunch at pebble beach
that's *alot* more than 100 million lol.
One sold this year for 15.7M pounds...around $24 million US. I don't think you can put a value on this car though really...considering how many were made and most owners will likely not sell them, it is basically a priceless car.
Can't wait to see the full documentary! For the Pink Floyd fans out there, try to spot Nick Mason.
It would have been an honour to own one.
Quel son ce V12 Colombo!!!
PS: Morganne est vraiment très jolie ;)
best car ever made...no questions asked
Couldn't have said it better myself
They really don't have a price, there are only 36 and the people who own them obviously are not poor. Be honest if you had one would you sell it?
this is not a car.. its a METALLIC SCULPTURE!!!!
when is the documentry
best car ever!
Modern gentlemen smoke cigars, drink moet&chandon, listen to pink floyd's music and drive ferrari 250 gto on countryside tracks. At the moment i can only afford floyd's music, poor me...

great car, great Nick (and Pink Floyd), and great daughter! :P
I cant even afford this car in Test Drive Unlimited 2
nothing ever made can rival the sound of that V 12. Sorry Mustang fans.
ah right cheers
Ill take One.......
There's No Way those are all real. That's almost HALF of the world's GTO's in ONE spot. That's over $300 Million Dollars worth of cars.
@pozdude3543 Nick Mason, the guy on the left!
@GTO3987 ha, $30m? no problem! lol jk, a beautiful car, if I never get to own a real one, I will find a game with the 250 GTO in it and make a simulator that closely resembles the 250 GTO, that means custom built interior, seats, steering wheel, shifter, pedals, surround sound, and TV screens as windows to get the ultimate feel lol. number 22 was on top gear
0:37 I'm smiling... 0:57 I'm not smiling...
I Reckon!
Hello Daughter Morgan!
definately at least 9 figures
I LOVE 250GTO!:D
@GTO3987 i prefer 64 model
£18 million WoW!
The only Ferrari I ever liked
@jamiekenta even if you damaged it you'd still get most of your money back. You'd lose millions but still...
18 million? psh, i'll own one eventually... well, at least a model of one. God what I would do to own one of these cars. lol I'd be terrified to drive it cuz i'd be so scared of damaging it.
Well i did not meant that. Its too stressy to drive with the feeling that somebody will put a gun in my head and at every red light semaphore. lol
I don't understand how can you drive something worth 35 million $.
you cant just do that, it doesn't work like that, as much as we wish it could. sorry.
Beauty and sex on wheels... a favorite of mine since I was a wee lad.
And, what must that field be worth?
@wdfowty No offense to you,but I will always refer to that track as Sears Point, and Mazda as Laguna Seca.Yeah, I know what you're gonna say,but I would like to keep Facism out of my life...not easy these days.
oops didnt watch the whole thing

Great videos! "What's Your Favourite Car?" is my latest video.
