What memories you brought back! Thanks.
I think the NBA All Star teams from 1969 ,1970 ,1983 ,1988 , 1990 and 2001 were some of the best, ever. The 1992 Dream Team and 2008 Olympic team were amazing too.
The legendary Don Kojis!
I once scrimmaged against the 1972 Supersonics!...Kojis set a pick, I literally bounced off his huge body, and I do not even think he felt it!...I mean, 5'8" me, running into a 6'6" brick wall of a man!
im an NBA historical fanatic; 67 yrs old. I never HEARD of him until watching this game! I love learning!!!
The game is very fast paced but has a college feel to it, ball movement and teamwork was stressed over individual players/matchups.
Billy Cunningham, could absolutely ball out..wow. He could play in todays game
incredible footage. its weird to see how much the game has changes.
Chris Schenkel. Old enough to have heard him live.
He was great broadcasting bowling.
Un emozionante tuffo nel passato . Grazie !
Thank you for this classics 🙏
What is so clear is that the real All Stars had the athletic ability and basic acumen to step into today's training rooms and compete. Wilt, Elvin Hayes, Baylor, Earl - they translate. Imagine Wilt coming out in next years draft at 19, or Russell, or Elvin
there aren't too many D1 teams they'd play for.
LMAO Wilt wouldn't play D1? You need to rethink your decisions in life
he'd be one of the only that would get a scholarship and play..@@ChrisSuswal-de9tj
@@jgallagher1359 You're focusing on skill. Obviously the game has evolved a lot in terms of skill. But in terms of size and athleticism, yes, the top players of that era could EASILY hold their own w/ the top players today. There's not much difference other than modern weight training between these guys and the players today. And, frankly, the cats in this game have pretty strong builds; not a Chet Holmgren in sight.
"Other than skill and weight training there's not much of a difference.
Oh, also population explosion and the game being played world wide by people dedicated full time to it. And changes in breeding patterns as well
So other than that…uhhh…yeah not much difference for these "cats"!

Thanks for sharing. That was pure basketball. Those names made the game. It is too bad money has taken over the game.
quit bitchin about money...players are entitled to earn a fair portion of what they generate. The players generate the revenue; the owners who use to hog all the money, don't generate shit...nobody buys a ticket or watches TV to see an owner. Quit bitchin unless you don't think you and your family deserve a fair wage wherever you work.
Money 💰 and no fundamental! Most NBA players can't dribble to the left😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Some players make more today than the entire payroll of the N B A . Imagine that Lol
@@michaelterry4394 - so what? Most corporate CEO's, Wall Street Executives, and Private Equity Partners make 10 or 20 TIMES more than what the average player makes.
Athletes played pro sports for damn near 100 years before winning lawsuits all the way up to the Supreme Court to earn the right to get their fair share of the profits they generate, and the right to have legal representation negotiate their contract. They earn everything their agents negotiate for them.
@@kevinlindsey6862And the average Nba player would still destroy the best in the old era 😂
Incredible footage! Thanks so much for sharing!
Earl the Pearl was absolutely mesmerizing. Shake N'Bake!Havlicek, so solid and clutch as well as the "Big O" Robertson. All these players back then were fun to watch. Discipline and teamwork are what makes great basketball.
Havlicek was sort of a proto-type of the future Larry Bird...always bringing it, great all-round skills, etc.
This game is pretty fast paced, and there’s defense. I always hear people say that the old games are slow. These guys look like the could be put in any decade and keep up.
Yes, And now imagine what they could do with steroids
These guys would get shit on by modern college teams
@@xsah2🍆🚴🏽♂️
@@xsah2 Nope, they would make college kids cry.
So much better than the 3 point contest basketball has turned into now.
The passing is 👌🏾🔥
Basketball was so much fun to watch back then.Just not the same today. SAD !
Thanks for posting this video even though I was born three years later it bring back memories.
Loving seeing these commercials
Man look how the game was played back then… less finesse and more fundamentals
I love these old school games, thank you!
Wow! I remember watching most of these guys when I was in high school. Watched Lou Hudson play for the MN Gophers!
I had forgotton how Elgin shot his FT's , always look'n left , till locked in. TY 4 this! I wish Chamberlain had never settled into the league and just dominated it for his entire career insteada put'n in 6-7 years n just stop shooting .
wilt knew that his offensive game was in decline and he attempted to be more of a bill russell; rebounding and passing and blocks. Doesnt matter; russell was a better NBA player
Before carry and traveling were allowed.
💯
what a treat! Thank you very much!
they all look pretty quick and athletic. i don’t think today’s players can run with these og’s.
I can officially say the 3 point line and rule changes killed the NBA ☹️
As if these dudes could shoot threes anyway 😂
NBA better than ever
@@12yearsa57you’ve gotta be joking
@@OMC720 I said this before all the 70 points games, acknowledge there is a little problem now
Luved the old commercials too!
Sloan slid his foot a foot and got called for traveling. Today's game has feet moving like Fred Astaire...
Like Ray Allen running 4 steps to the three point line to make a 3 pointer to beat the Mavs in the NBA championship.
No stupid hip hop while they bring the ball up. Wonderful!
Willis Reed, Jerry Lucas, and Earl Monroe 💙 🧡 🏀
