I was the one that commented Lighter Fluid on the last vid. I had recently used on a Funkadelic Record that had old moving tape all over it and it came out amazing! Had to share
With fraying cardboard edges/corners I use a 50/50 mix of PVA glue and water in a dropper bottle and soak a tiny drop on the edge and then pinch it flat with a clothes peg. It should stop it fraying and give you a nice crisp edge.
Some good tips in this video, I hate when stores put huge price stickers right on the slip cover. Barnes & Noble does that. And I think those tools you use might be called spudgers too.
Goo Gone works great. For light sticky residue I take a piece of duct tape and lightly stick it to the residue, and it works great for removing it. For light scratches on my DVDs, I clean it with lense cleaner or isopropyl alcohol and then apply a coat of car wax and once dry buff it. It fills in the scratches great and has saved a lot of my dvds and cds over the past twenty years. Nerds Rule!
Excellent video. Stuff like this helps tremendously. Quick question that's not entirely unrelated: I have quite a few movies but never really cared about the slips until the last few months (lost quite a few that I wished I had kept). Is there a website that sells movies that will tell you if the 4k's or Blu-rays come with the slips (other than scrolling through ebay)? I've bought quite a few movies off Amazon, but they seem to always come in just the regular keepcase without the slip. I guess basically what I'm asking is what are the best sites online to order movies where you know you'll get the slipcases with them?
you're really good at that especially the girl next door slipcover.....the halloween 4k's from scream factory, you know that slipcases you put the movie in sideways, one of them the art is coming off at the bottom. i just used alittle gorilla glue and problem solved but if it was up to me id rather the newer regular slipcovers for the scream factory halloween 4k's because it always happens with those. great video!
I always hated the old school security price stickers that circuit city used. I’d have to let them sit and soak and work for days, uncoiling them a little at a time.
Does anyone ever have the problem of the plastic wrapper sticking to the spine of the cases when you're taking it off? I continuously have this problem. Does anyone have a solution to getting it off without damaging the case?
I hate when stores slap one of their big cheap stickers on the freaking cardboard Slipcover! I had to throw away my slip of 007: Skyfall, cause i damaged it trying to remove sticker.
Barnes & Noble stickers are the worst - there's like a foil anti-theft square under them and they won't come off in one piece or easily without damaging the slipcover underneath. They also tend to stick them right over the director signature sticker on the Criterions.
No, I want to, I have a bunch of 3D movies that came with my Blu-ray’s but don’t have a player or TV, I can find players easily at goodwills, but TVs not so much
Fck yeah I'm a slip freak too.. the only liquid I use is rubbing alcohol and the dabbing technique works well with the sharpie.. not a lot left to do tho bc I'm careful with my sht now..
Goo Gone doesn't work on stickers, it only works on the glue underneath. Easiest method is saliva - Apply saliva to sticker, wait a few minutes then peel the top layer off. Once the glue is exposed goo gone will take it away with ease.
This is the type of content that really matters for physical media collectors

I'm glad that I'm not the only one out there using Sharpie markers to improve my slipcovers....
Lol you’re not alone man
Love to see someone as nerdy as me 🤣 this is peak content. Much love from Sweden
lol it’s not always about the shinny new things, we gotta take of what we have already 🛠️🤓
You are definitely the most unique collector that fixes issues with used media. I am, way too lazy for these fixes.
Dude, what a fantastic video. This is the kind of unique content I live to see on youtube.
Thanks man!!

I like this type of contents. Thank you for the tips!
Great tips! Keep up the positive work
New tip: use a dry eraser along side with the lf and gg or by itself sometimes it works great for removing permanent markers.
Great restoration tips , I’m in process of going through old DVDs 👍👍👍👍
I'm still so jealous of that Girl Next Door slip. I hope I can find it in the wild some day. Great tips!
Funny enough ever since I found this, I’ve seen it in the wild a few times

Last Craft Standing!
But in all seriousness, thank you for sharing. Some of those stickers are a nightmare to remove.
They really are sometimes, hate stickers lol

Yea man I HATE that! I havnt figured out the best solution for that yet
No way he gave a shout out to Pacoima 😂 can’t eat to show my pops
Goo be gone works wonders when removing stickers from slipcovers
should have done this as Bob Ross
lol I just need to take my hat off & FRO! lol I should have done it dressed as Tim Allen from Home Improvement 😂
👍👍👍
That Girl Next Door lenticular is niiiiicceeeeeee

Damn! 😡 yea stores suck! Best Buy was bad at it too
Brother you’re telling me. Why not on the back by the bar code but no they want to slam it over the bad a$$ cover.
@@Scoondog Or maybe they could use a higher quality sticker that removes without leaving anything behind!
WD40 and a Q-tip also works pretty good on some stickers/glues.
Yea I haven’t tried WD40 yet
slip covers are cardboard nott paper
I have a copy of Boyhood with the stickiest sticker residue of all time. Hoping this could work! Great video
Rub one out? Sure, why not.
Don’t forget the goo gone 😂

Really? I think I’ve only bought from them in stores maybe twice, I never go to B&N
Nail polish remover works well....
Good work, I love your channel! Thank you. Byebye
Thanks man!!
Have you done any reviews or thoughts on 3-D Blu-ray’s?

@@thelastmoviestandingthanks for the quick response. We’ll be here for it.
@@thelastmoviestanding I found my 3D tvs on Craigslist and weren't all that expensive. In the Dallas area someone always seems to be selling one.
