- My 2010 Landrover Lr4 developed a rough idle and check engine light. A quick DTC scan indicated "vacuum leak at manifold" along with multiple misfire codes... less than helpful. Here's the fix.

I had the same thing happen on my LR 3 V8, 4.4L, it was devastating and there was nothing about it online, i mopped out a bunch of oil from the intake after a huge plum of smoke, ithe pcv created more pollution than it ever saved, Land Rover engineers have a sick sense of humor
I found your channel through your Delica content, and now I have a 2011 LR4 and found you again! thanks for the tip, mine definitely needs PCV valves.
Sucker for punishment just like me ic haha. Glad I could be of help again! Next LR vid will be doing the head gasket on the D4, as it just let go.
@Project Addiction yes indeed we are! any ideas why the head gasket let go? at least you can take people along for the journey. Next up for me is updating the timing chain guides using the zip tie method.
@@kl3vr From what I have found it seems there is an issue withthe LR4 5.0 that causes the head bolts to pull out of the block taking the thread with them... I suspect this is what has happened but I wont; know until I tear into it. Will do all the timing gear at the same time.
hello, js I have such a problem in Discovery IV 3.0 How to fix it?
Great job and video
Thanks!
Good quality video
Cheers! Always nice to hear the effort is appreciated. Glad you enjoyed!
Great video! 👍🏾💯🔥
What year is your LR4, and what mileage did you replace these?
Cheers glad you enjoyed! The truck is a 2010, and I believe it's was around 200 000km
@@projectaddiction Great, I also have 2010.
Hi, I have 1
a 2016 Land Rover LR4 Landmark edition with a P0442 error code. It say “ Evaporative Emission
System
LEak Detected, small leak) “ Any suggestion would be greatly appreciated to a fix. Will this be a PCV valve replacement, gas cap replacement, etc ?
It could be any number of things. You may need to have the EVAP system smoke tested to find the leak in the system.
Could be as easy as replacing the EVAP hose. This was the case on my Jeep. Easy repair. Have not researched it on a Rover.
Can you share the link of the product??? PCV??
lucky you don't have the supercharged engine. just did mine and they are not nearly as easy lol
Well... if it makes you feel any better the truck is currently sitting with a popped head gasket awaiting me to tear into it ;)
What year is this? Seems like a different layout than my 2016 lr4. Never mind, you have a 2010 🙏🏻
Unfortunately the 2016 uses a different engine I'm afraid :(
no links to get the part ?
Hi Keith, you can find the parts I used here. a.co/d/emLn8aH
Please note I am not an affiliate, this is just the part I happened to use.
Is this a thing on a 2015 LR4?
2015 i believe is a different engine, but most automotive engines do have a pcv valve.
That's all well and good, but why don't you show the correct placement of the strings? There are two sizes. Land rover range rover sport 5.0 v8 rv2012 supercharged
