I only think it matters about what kind of test you’re cheating on. A final exam and an assessment are no big deal, but cheating on the SAT requires great precaution and getting caught essentially prevents you from taking the exam ever again
To be honest finals very much matter more than the SATs in my country. 10th final board exam will decide your entire future and if you get caught either you wouldn't be able to take that exam and other competitive exams for about 6 - 8 yrs or you'd be arrested. The arresting part depends in which state of the country you are and how they handle such things.

My dream career doesnt even require academic smarts beyond a very small ammount of literature and mathematics.
Coming from a person who was in a strict Catholic school, the people who did cheat (or attempted to) would always get caught by the teachers. My school had a very strict no cheating policy which was enforced on everyone since the consequences would be expulsion. We always had to put our hair up (if you had long hair), wouldn’t be allowed to go to the bathroom, and wouldn’t able to stand up and look around even at the clock, teachers would also roam the classroom and wouldn’t be staying at a corner. During minor tests, quizzes, and essays, teachers would always check even if we had peer review, the teachers would also always check if you got sources from Wikipedia in which they’d give you a lower score. So to me, it was never worth it to cheat on anything because 99% of the time you’d get caught. Even then, compared to the rest of the schools in my area, we were pretty lax.
@Vincent Ludwig That is already a clear violation and your teachers are just complete dumbas*es. You can't deny someone the right to release their waste privately. If you're in college then they don't care, just go.

I cheated on my Spanish regents about 2 years ago. I was good friends with one of the real Hispanic kids who know like everything about the language. They were sitting right next too me and they just let it happen. Then at the end I told them that I looked at there paper and they said "Yep, I know". I hope my grade can't be changed for it.
I think I learned the most by reverse engineering solutions to homework. I wouldn't consider it cheating considering the tremendous amount of work I put into understanding the subject matter. As a result, most of the other students in electrical engineering who 'studied for the test' never really understood the concepts and forgot the material soon after. School was pretty much a hinderance to my education. I learn a LOT from Wikipedia and donate to them every time they ask. A really dedicated study group helps a lot too. I've been an engineer for 6 years now, and I would say the most important skill the actual workplace needs is: how fast can you do the research to find the answer? Seems like the skills one would use to cheat are the same skills that are required for the job.
I had an IEP so whenever we had a test, they sent me to a separate room so I wouldn't get distracted. In that room we were literally allowed to use our phones during the test.
Yeah me me and my buddies had a system so one kid pretty much got all the answers from the teacher because the IEP then he would give it to me and I would pass it down to the homes i passed with a 98 in math
I remember when studies came out on online schools saying it was "just as effective" as in person schools, if not better. Thats when I realized how e a s y it is to cheat lmao
I literally just cheated on my Apush quiz today it was soo easy all i had to do was search the question or answer and a quizlet came up for it best thing is the website we use dosent even alert the teacher when we click off the page
Once during an exam. We were given an extra sheet with the color coding of resistors and i wrote some answers on the back of it while the teachers werent in the room. Thoose went straight off my answer cheat onto the paper. Id sometimes during the test franrically sketch thoose answers onro the paper while the teacher was looking but the contents of the paper were blocked by my pencil case. At the end of the test i gave all the papers to the teacher, folded the one with the resistor color coding in half and said to my teacher: "Id like to keep this as a souvenir." Slickest stunt i pulled

My parents told me their high school classmates would legit stick a tiny tiny TINY earpiece in their ear to hear the answers from other students. It was really dangerous and there was a large possibility it would be stuck in your ear. The things they had to do…
I also had an Econ teacher where in the middle of a test, someone's phone went off reading a question verbatim. The teacher just looked from across the room, laughed, and went right back to doing what he was doing 😂
This one girl I know would write the answers in her inner thigh. Which is kinda genius imo, cause the teacher can't be like "Show me your inner thigh".
Cheating is even MORE vulnerable in online school, it was so easy to cheat, that one time all the kids resorted to looking back at the answers on a test because our teacher just knew already that she couldn't stop us and admitted it
What i would do is pretend to drop my pencil, kick it so it rolls to the other side of the room where the smart kid is sitting, got to pick it up and when doing so glance at the question you wanted. I was labeled clumsy so nobody cared if i did this 5 consecutive times
8:15 this same exact thing happened to me in a psychology class. Got a 0 on the test and a C in the class from it. One of those things my brain likes to remind me of at 3am. So glad I’m not the only one. Still haven’t lived that one down
I remember making a kahoot account and I would look up the kahoot the teacher was using, find it, and all of the answers would be there. I was the kahoot God and got candy for being in 1st every week. Edit: I also remember in middle school, logging into other kids' accounts and go into the assignment they did the previous period. I could see the correct answers and I only need their birthday to log in. Never got caught.
i remember someone i knew collecting a bunch of birthdays because our login for our district portal is just our birthdays and initials this is why my friend changed her password
Everyone in my classroom chill, we don’t snitch on each other and I have that one cool smart kid that lets you copy off them and then the answers get distributed slowly in the class😂
I have a school friend. He is cosidered the smart kid but omfg any subject that isnt related to like maths, science or like some other crap, he has to cheat in.
I'm quite certain denying someone to go to the bathroom is a violation of the Geneva Convention
@Vincent Ludwig That is already a clear violation and your teachers are just complete dumbas*es. You can't deny someone the right to release their waste privately. If you're in college then they don't care, just go.
It’s actually a true thing when I was at our school

I cheated on my Spanish regents about 2 years ago. I was good friends with one of the real Hispanic kids who know like everything about the language. They were sitting right next too me and they just let it happen. Then at the end I told them that I looked at there paper and they said "Yep, I know". I hope my grade can't be changed for it.
Same
it wont be changed if it was that long ago

Yea because in both scenarios the student doesn't actually learn jack shit, even if they actually studied they would forget it next week
Am i the only one who thinks Online Class is too easy because you can cheat
same there just asking for it at this point
It’s easy just makes it hard bc the zoom severs and websites they make us use are slow and glitchy af
I literally just cheated on my Apush quiz today it was soo easy all i had to do was search the question or answer and a quizlet came up for it
best thing is the website we use dosent even alert the teacher when we click off the page
Lol even when they put lock mode on u can just look at ur phone.
Bold of you to assume I get around to opening the assignment to cheat.
This dude has the most relatable experiences ever
Once during an exam. We were given an extra sheet with the color coding of resistors and i wrote some answers on the back of it while the teachers werent in the room. Thoose went straight off my answer cheat onto the paper. Id sometimes during the test franrically sketch thoose answers onro the paper while the teacher was looking but the contents of the paper were blocked by my pencil case. At the end of the test i gave all the papers to the teacher, folded the one with the resistor color coding in half and said to my teacher: "Id like to keep this as a souvenir."
Slickest stunt i pulled

Cheating is even MORE vulnerable in online school, it was so easy to cheat, that one time all the kids resorted to looking back at the answers on a test because our teacher just knew already that she couldn't stop us and admitted it
“Then it be the kid who writes in like size 4 font”, You ain’t have to attack me like that, my handwriting is NEAT 😂😂😂😂

I have a school friend. He is cosidered the smart kid but omfg any subject that isnt related to like maths, science or like some other crap, he has to cheat in.
