      Yes. This is one of hundreds of nice songs that were pretty much played to death on Top 40 Stations ... They had 40 songs they played - and that was it. They'd play them all - and then play them all again ... over and over and over and over ... God Forbid that you should work with someone who listened to a Top 40 Station at work ...
      One of the sad parts of that - is that by the time the Top 40 Stations got done with a song - because they played it until people didn't want to hear it any more - pretty much everyone was really sick of hearing it, which is a sad fate for a nice song.
      It was really nice to hear it again here though - after not having heard it in like 40 years.

    I have this album and I think it is one of my quadraphonic ones. Did I just date myself big time or what? I find it amazingly cool that you could get into this song from My past. This wan not as intense as Poke Salat for you but it was beautifully done as always. You just keep stumbling across all these classics any time you want because you bring them back to life so well. Sina paints here an enhanced, exuberant drumtrack to the old hit by Orleans. She is alert, active and full of precision, and wakes up the old song from its slumbering sanctuary, and does it with dignity. You can still enjoy the innocent and wistfully whispering sighs of the 70s. This was the golden era of wonderful singing groups like Crosby, Nash etc. Eagles and Toto. And no one had heard anything about digital environments, yet.

    Sina, your feeling has been confirmed: the song sounds much more present with your brilliant use of drums, you really breathed new life into it. In the original, the song doesn't sound really ambitious, at least when it comes to the drums. The band probably noticed that too, which is why they used a much more active rhythm section for their second big success “Still The One”, which can be heard in the link th-cam.com/video/XrPnBkjdaFM/w-d-xo.html

    @sina-drums
    I noticed you switched your stick handling several videos ago. You using the traditional/jazz stick handling method instead of the contemporary straight forward method you've been using since forever.
    Do you find the traditional/jazz stick handling method gives you better stick control over the straight forward method of handling?
    Doesn't the traditional method hurt your wrist more than the straight method?
    I'm more of a straight forward person. I found the traditional way you're handling the sticks hurts my wrists.
    What can you suggest I do to limit wrist fatigue?

    Wow, just amazing! I used to roller dance to this song back in the 70's. It would have been fantastic to skate to your rendition. So many more areas in the song to add complex tricks. Dance with Me has always been a favorite song of mine so you had a hard audience to convince here but you did. Your instincts for rhythm is spot on as always.

    A very sweet song. A friends little sister and her mates got this song going at a disco. And pounced on us teen boys. Wow. First kiss for her. First real punched fight for me.

    • @thebigwool
      @thebigwool 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Agreed on all points. I’ve suspected for some time that TH-cam’s compression method removes a lot of the top end from these videos. Mike Wilbury might consider increasing the treble to compensate.
