It's defined as..."Yacht rock refers to the soft rock that dominated FM radio airwaves in the late 1970s and early 1980s. Yacht rock is characterized by glossy production, breezy vocals, and bouncy rhythms-all elements thought to evoke relaxing bay cruises in Southern California, where the genre originated."

Here's a fun fact for you. John Hall, who wrote this song and founded Orleans, temporarily left the band and was elected to the legislature of Ulster County, New York in 1989 and the Saugerties, New York Board of Education in 1991, and was the U.S. representative for New York's 19th congressional district, serving from 2007 to 2011. Quite a career change. He eventually returned to Orleans.

These guys were the back-up band to the Jefferson Airplane, who had just changed their name to Starship, in a concert. I was on a committee that did large hall rock concerts at the U of Iowa in the 70’s. They were class-act, friendly guys and very, very good.

Harri I met my wife at work not a dance. She worked in different department but we had noticed each other and I gave her a note with phone number inviting her to call me. We got together but kept it under wraps hidden from coworkers not wanting talk, rumors or interference. Several months later our company had a big party celebrating a milestone including two separate bands and dance floors. That night was when I walked over to be with my future wife and took her to the dance floor letting everyone know where things stood between us. As expected gossiping followed predicting we would not last. We have been together now 28 years. She danced with me and became my partner.

This song came out just when I went into high school in 1975. Our cafeteria had a radio that played our favorite Top Forty station and this one was almost always playing at some point during my lunch hour. It was played at our freshman mixers (dances) too. This song instantly makes me think of my old alma mater!

From their second album, "Orleans ll", from 1974, this was their first top 40 hit on the Billboard Hot 100's
making it to Number 6 and Number 5 in Canada.
Such a beautiful song with a sweet summer sound and soft vocal harmonies. The acoustic instruments are so lovely and the harmonica and the hook so infectious. John Hall, guitarist and vocalist and his wife Johanna wrote this spectacular piece. Great reaction Harri. Thanks Harri and Imadrummin.👏👏 Cheers from Canada 🇨🇦

John Hall, who wrote this song (with his wife, Johanna) & sang lead on it also played on Bonnie Raitt's terrific 1975 LP "Homeplate". This talented couple also came up with "Still the One" but I'd like to suggest my personal favorite by Orleans which is "Reach" and it is uber funky. I hope you get a chance to hear it even if you don't choose to feature it on TH-cam. Enjoy...

Today the sales guy motivated me to buy a big plant even though I told him I have no space
He said : No matter how you imagine of your place having no more space to put another big plant, you can still do it by shifting the plants around.
However. when the doctor who recorded my father:s mode of death, came to ask me that she wanted to substitute the recording with another mode of death, I can never imagine of it being any foul play because :
