"Shine on you crazy diamond" has to be the most appropriate song to use for this project, considering it was already written for a man slowly losing himself.

“Caught in the Crossfire” gives me chills because the song it samples (shine on you crazy diamond by pink floyd) is my favourite song and imo the best song of all time tbh it kinda makes me wonder that if i get dementia if that’s what that song will sound like

Not gonna lie, this is my favorite singular album possibly ever. I don't know how you managed to make E2,E3,E4, and E5 all bangers, but whatever it is, I hope you keep it up in future projects!

This is still my favorite Pre-awareness album of NATMOS:R, as of the Y8 release. Every track is top tier, the album cover is 1:1 with the mood of the music, and there's overall has a level of confidence and consistency to this year that I would've never expected out of a community project.

    • @JordanKeuring
      @JordanKeuring  ปีที่แล้ว +12

Yeah this confidence is the aim for all pre-awareness stages in the upcoming complete edition. This stage actually changes the least out of all of the pre-awareness stages.

F2 is genuinely one of the most depressing things I’ve ever listened to, you can feel the pain and loss in every note as the patient begs to not forget his closest loved ones…but alas it was all for nothing…

I like how E4 foreshadowed and confirmed in year 4 that 'Phil Collins - Another day in paradise' is the sample that appears the most in this album like Heartaches did in EATEOT. As well as that this sample was first used in A2 instead of A1.

    • @themonomineestation5815
      @themonomineestation5815 ปีที่แล้ว +7

In terms of the same EXACT song used, it was Seger Ellis's Heartaches that appeared the most throughout the lucidity stages of EATEOT. Another Day in Paradise was used a lot for the lucidity years of this too, appearing in 5 different tracks throughout the first 4 years in A2, E4, H7, J4, & J9.

Year 3. The release date is December 2nd, 2021. Five years remaining.
E1- The Storm metaphor continues from Year 2, signifying the dementia growing closer. It begins with a weather forecast, and it is heard in the background of the song that plays afterward. The patient should be focused on the broadcast, but is too worried about the upcoming storms that lie ahead.
E2- Shine On You Crazy Diamond; a song too fitting for an album such as this. The patient is now losing himself as we speak, and time is running out. And I don’t know which Carebear decided to make this track, but it freakin’ rips.
E3- A1’s title was called ‘Overture to a Film’, so it was inevitable that a track would sound like it came from some play of sorts. Most plays end with a good ending, but I think that this one will.
E4- And we back, another day living in paradise. In all honesty, I love how the static in the background sounds like rain. And I have a feeling that the patient has known this song for a long time up until this point. But soon, paradise will fall and crumble.
E5- Moments of bliss and serenity are beginning to decrease, and the dread’s filling in the air. The track alone tries to sound happy and uplifting, but it is depressing to hear.
E6- The title - Like C6 - is too fitting for this track. The patient knows that he will fail to overcome this struggle, but is still trying to win against it regardless. But he will fail. There is no winning in a struggle such as this.
F1- A claustrophobic sense is introduced, and for the first minute of the track, the patient is getting crushed by the walls slowly closing in. The walls stop coming in, but the claustrophobia still remains. I have nothing else to say about this track; it’s as good as it is.
F2- And now our patient has turned to religion in an attempt to stop the disease. But it is far too late, as there is no hope for rescue, drowning in the Great Sea of Blackness. But there was one line that I took away from this track: “You will penetrate this darkness.” It almost seems like there is a way out, a way to overcome this struggle. But this is all a dream. A dream in death. Someone that is going to die in his sleep at the end of it all. And the harsh truth: not even God himself can save him from such a horrific disease.
    It’s all for nothing.
F3- The patient is far beyond saving. Far beyond hope. The only thing for him to do now is wait for time to take him away. Denial corroded his mind once before, but it is pointless to keep doing so.
F4- “Pretty hard to describe, I’ll tell you. It, it is hard to get used to it, you know? It’s not easy to adjust.” The patient is no longer wanting to fight back, and is slowly drifting further apart from everything else, even in his sleep. I do wonder if there’ll be a part that samples a Michael Jackson song, but I guess that I’ll have to find out.
F5- The first part of the track is amazing, but the latter half of this song reminds me of D5’s title. This is a battle that cannot be won, and the patient finally acknowledges that.
F6- The patient has accepted his condition and is now bracing the storms head on, knowing that there will be no victory in the end. This song really symbolizes the word Defeat in the best way possible.
Overall, I was right; this was depressing. There were so many good tracks from this, but my main three I’ll take away from it will be E2, F2, and F6. I am so ready for Year Four, and I can’t wait to see how that turns out. I’ll see you then.

As someone who personally likes Battles, F1 is one of the most uncomfortable yet favorite tracks I've ever heard. I can imagine someone getting crushed in by the walls closing in. And the way the song just progressively fades makes me imagine a memory fading in real-time.

City of blinding lights -U2 ❤️❤️
The more you see, the less you know
The less you find out as you go
    I knew much more then
    Than I do now
    Neon-heart, day-glow eyes
    A city lit by fireflies
    They're advertising in the skies
    For people like us
And I miss you when you're not around
I'm getting ready to leave the ground
Oh, you look so beautiful tonight
In the city of blinding lights
    Don't look before you laugh
    Look ugly in a photograph
    Flash bulbs, purple irises
    The camera can't see
    I've seen you walk unafraid
I've seen you in the clothes you made
Can you see the beauty inside of me?
What happened to the beauty I had inside of me?
And I miss you when you're not around
I'm getting ready to leave the ground
Oh, you look so beautiful tonight
In the city of blinding lights
    Time, time, time, time, time
Won't leave me as I am
But time won't take the boy out of this man
Oh, you look so beautiful tonight
Oh, you look so beautiful tonight
Oh, you look so beautiful tonight
In the city of blinding lights
The more you know, the less you feel
    Some pray for, others steal
Blessings are not just for the ones who kneel
    Luckily

There was a lot of genuine dread in here, even though the songs still sound mostly normal. Year One was a 'bright empty', but this one is a profoundly dark emptiness. Again, the album art really encapsulates the feel of this particular 'year': A weary, faded light, like the last lamp left on before you go to bed. The moment where pain eclipses hope.
I noticed this and Y2 are equivalent to Everywhere's 'Stage 2', and I'm glad they were both chosen for that. All too often Stage 2 is a sort of dumping ground in the genre, just a bridge between the normal music of S1 and the experimental nature of everything else. This team has managed to capture what I think a Stage 2 *should* be like. As faded as the first, but with a conscious, emotional atmosphere.
I eagerly awaited this one, it did not disappoint, and I cannot wait to see what you all create for the next one.

F4 its probably not as flashy as F2 but it definitely deserves a spot in my heart, something about the static and the voices make it sound like something they would put for a little kid to make him sleep for how soothing it is, the bumper is also one of my favorites despite being so short, it's like at this point he isn't even trying to fight back before denial corroded completely in the previous F side tracks and he's letting himself go slowly, Y3 will probably always be my personal favorite year

I am really impressed by how this community is constantly evolving out of just experimental fan works of Jack Kirby and into their own. I tip my hat to you, the Carebear, and all the Caretakers in this new genre.

"The storm grows closer" is a scary and good name. First it starts off with what appears to be a weather forcast, seems to be a warning, probaly some storm and it states that the storms, which in this case is the severe symptoms of demenita is growing closer, and like a storm or fog it prevents you from seeing very far, like how in dementoa you cant see very far deep in your memory.

    F2 text:
...prepared in innocence to meet our king of glory
    And so we have this
You have it in your secret windows
And you're understanding to understand it and to bring it forth
    It takes minute detail
    It takes a holy life
    It takes emotions
    It takes dedication
    It takes dedication
    It takes a death
And only god can allow it
And you couldn't do it if you're not the seed of god
And so the path through the great corridors
These are corridors unto his perfection
That is which the prophet and the urim and thummim has penetrated
That through this great sea of blackness
That I penetrated through these corridors
And I went through that last segment
Where I went through these dark serpentines
    I passed through that corridor
    Where they sat
    Where they are
And when you penetrate to the most high god
You will believe you are mad
You will believe you've gone insane
But I tell you if you follow the secret window
And you die to the ego nature
    You will penetrate this darkness
Oh yes there's many a man or woman
That's been put in the insane asylum
When this has happened to them
And they're sitting there today, people think they're insane
But they saw something that's real
And they see it when they're on drugs
The only thing is they see it not through the light of god
And the way I show you
I show you to see it through the light of god
    And the understanding of god
Because when you see the face of god you will die
And there will be nothing left of you
    Except the god-man, the god-woman
The heavenly man, the heavenly woman
    The heavenly child
There will be terror under this day of night
There will be a song of jubilee waiting for your king
There will be nothing you will be looking for in this world
    Except for your god
    This is all a dream
    A dream in death
And so I went through that window
And the tower of hell and the great serpentines of the highest order
And i went through that when i showed you chart #3

I am sure you guys are already hard at work on it, but one thing I was thinking about was when you finally do get to stage 3 would be to play the same songs as stage 1 with different instruments. For instance if "Another Day in Paradise" started showing up with trumpets and saxes in between other numbers.
It might be a good way to show that this is a different type of confusion than the post awareness confusion of stage 4. It's the kind where you keep mixing your daughter with wife or other loved one. You can still remember these memories but the details of other memories are bleeding through.
In anycase this album is amazing.

    Album cover thoughts:
An unidentifiable object (likely a bar of soap, as it's the inspiration of this cover) impaled by a pencil, a cigar and a incense stick. A ray of light illuminates it, and the rest is covered in darkness. The object to me represents the brain, wich has been damaged more at this point. The ray of light represents the lucidity, wich is also the reason its smaller. Moments of bliss are starting to grow shorter, and this year is the last of perfectly coherent memories.

E1 feels weird, like a dream, like the tunes from A1 come back (I know it wasn't done by GodSpeed), but it's very very similar, those background vocals from the 5th October 1970 Broadcast make it sound weird, like Those laughs and strange screams that on the recording sounded like people celebrating. All terrifying... to end with a quiet sound... but still with the emotional feel of stage 2.

  • @trashofficialyt

i'm not sure if anyone noticed this, but f1 has a really cool detail where as the track goes on, it gets more broken. it's like a beta eateot f2, not being as obviously broken as the probably true eateot f2, that being i1 of year 4, but it's still noticable.

im pretty sure there are 7 broadcasts
in year 1, there are 2, one seems to be normal but the second one much later in the album is much more corrupted, with the news anchor repeating itself constantly, it feels like something out of stage 3.
in year 2, there are 2 again, one is normal but… talks about a storm coming with stage 2-echos. seems like the storm is an analogy for dementia.
the other in the next song seems to be a motivational message talking about how good your life has been and not to give up. this seems to be denial.
in year 3, its another storm warning, but the sound gets lowered down a pitch and gets more raw, like the dementia mocks you, its here and you’re starting to notice. the second one, in the first song again is just slightly sad music.
you don’t have anything to say anymore.
the next one is in the next half of year 3, its another motivational message, but this one seems honest. they want you to step up and return to the light.

    • @NorwayTracking
      @NorwayTracking 2 ปีที่แล้ว +6

In B5 (year 1), they mention sunny skies and high pressure systems, meaning their mental outlook is good for the time being, but a few storms may form and arrive sometime soon, meaning they know that dementia is possible in the future, but aren’t quite concerned about it at the moment
In C1 (year 2), they say it’s still sunny that day, but there are storms out in the distance, meaning their recollection is still fine for now, but they are now aware that problems are on the way.
In E1 (year 3), they say it’s a cloudy morning, so they can’t ignore the storms that are coming anymore and there are signs that it’s approaching closer.
Furthermore, in L1 (year 5), there’s a tornado warning in effect, meaning they’re briefly aware that the storm of memory loss and delirium has arrived.
