    My problem is after the itching sensation I lost hair. I don’t scratch my scalp could be worst.

    If someone loses their hair on their forehead, could this be linked to a nutritional problem?

      I am assuming you mean their hairline… But hairline only is usually DHT related. There may be a nutritional component, but it would be predominantly DHT.

    Hello doctor i have female pattern hair loss and also diffuse hair loss at the front of my head that looks like a receding hair line. But i have another question, I have scalp tenderness at some areas of my scalp especially at the vertex . It normally doesn't pain all the time but when it does it lasts for days. When i touch the spot it would flare up like I just burn and it usually hurts more when showering. I am gentle with my hair always before this started to occur and even more now. The only chemicals I would use in my hair is semi permanent colours and bleach once a year. I would use Olive Oil or massage the spot but now nothing is working and my part seems to be getting wider. Could you please help me to understand what is causing this ?

    Thank you for this presentation. I am told that I have ccca alopecia but I have none of the symptoms described by some of the commenters. There is no itching or burning or pain, just hair loss in the crown area. Recently I started using a corticosteroid treatment or oil on the scalp. If this is scarring Alopecia, will this help and what causes the inflammation? Is it my immune system?

    Hi can you please respond I’ve been watching your videos and I was told I had ccca but my scalp wasn’t sensitive or anything till I used the steroids and Shampoo I was prescribed so I stopped. My hair is thinning all over not just at the crown and my edges are receding in. Does that diagnosis sound correct? I also suffer from anemia and had 2 iron infusion in the past, I noticed the shedding stopped then

    • @WilliamGaunitzTrichologist
      @WilliamGaunitzTrichologist  หลายเดือนก่อน

      It sounds like your situation is complex and could involve multiple factors. Central Centrifugal Cicatricial Alopecia (CCCA) typically starts at the crown and can spread outward, leading to scarring and permanent hair loss if not treated. However, your symptoms of thinning all over, receding edges, and no initial scalp sensitivity suggest that other factors, like anemia, could be contributing to your hair loss.
      Anemia, particularly iron deficiency, is a common cause of hair thinning and shedding. The fact that your shedding stopped after iron infusions suggests that your iron levels play a significant role in your hair health. The reaction you had to the steroids and prescribed shampoo could indicate a sensitivity to those treatments or that the diagnosis might need re-evaluation.
      Given the complexity of your symptoms, it would be best to consult with a trichologist or dermatologist who can consider both CCCA and other potential causes, like iron deficiency, to develop a tailored treatment plan.

    • @internationaltrichologycon366
      @internationaltrichologycon366 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      ideally you need to raise your ferritin over 100, after which the the hair need 3 months to cycle through its shedding phase and another 3 months to see a difference (6 months to see a difference in total)

    • @WilliamGaunitzTrichologist
      @WilliamGaunitzTrichologist  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      That is a great improvement! Your hair growth today is usually 8 weeks behind what’s happening in your body. It is likely that your hair is not caught up with your blood test yet. Give it another 4 to 6 weeks and you should be on track

      From William’s Assistant Trichologist MJ: It's not typical for women your age to start experiencing androgenetic alopecia unless you were diagnosed with PCOS and/or on birth control pill. You definitely have nutritional deficiencies so please take the following:
      FoliGrowth Vitamin: take 2 in morning with food and 1 in the evening with food www.advancedtrichology.com/products/foligrowth-ultra-hair-growth-vitamin-with-high-potency-biotin-folic-acid-and-26-herbs-and-vitamins
      Vitamin D3: Vit D3: take 10 drops (10,000iu) per day for 6 months then retest. - www.advancedtrichology.com/products/liquid-vitamin-d3-5000-iu-180-days-suppl
      If you can get a blood test for ferritin, that is recommended. You may also reach out to us at support@advancedtrichology.com so we can help determing if you have androgenetic alopecia too.

    This might be a little bit of a stretch but I'm going to try anyway. I'm a 20 years old girl and I have been suffering from Alopecia since this September. I went to five different doctors and every single one of them told me it was because of stress. For some reason, I don't believe any of them, because 4 of them weren't specialized in hair loss and the dermatologist worked at a private clinic and she seemed to go through my case very quickly. (within 5 minutes she had told me it was stress and left the room) I did experience emotion turmoil in July since my ex of 3 years left me and I was diagnosed with ITP in October/November. However, the hair loss hasn't really slowed even though the stress is gone. The hair loss isn't evenly distributed across my head but only a strip from ear to ear in the back. It itches a lot and hurts when I move my hair even when it's clean. I've tried EVERYTHING to try and stop the hair loss, I've changed shampoo multiple times, I started taking iron supplements to bring up my ferittin (since its a tad low 21 (normality is 20 - 306) due to prednisone I took for ITP), I used a liquid Taro-mometasone and I started Rogain. None of this seems to help. So, basically, can who's lived a similar situation or knows anything tell me if this is really Telugen Effluvium ?? And is time really the only solution for recovery ?
