  • I needed a good spare tire mount on my utility trailer and so I decided to fabricate one. I used scrap metal for this simple project and two brand new 1/2 bolts with nylock nuts. I built it using the Evolution S355 dry cut saw, the YesWelder MP200, the YesWelder Flux 135, among many other tools.

I saw this video and am in the process of making a spare tire bracket along the same idea as yours. The biggest difference is I used 1/4"x 3" channel since I had some, and I used two lug nuts that I had laying around. I like those rather than using regular nuts on a wheel. I think the taper of the holes and nuts holds better that way I don't need lock washers. I plan on welding the bolt heads so I won't need two wrenches to get the spare off. Great video, thanks, you got me all inspired.

I love the simple but effective design….. I did a video not too long ago on my spare tire mount.✅
