    The production on this track is insane. Every time a new Periphery album comes out it sets a benchmark for metal production quality, at least in my opinion.

      100% agree, them and buster from vildhjarta/HLB. They always raise the bar for production

    The vocal note progression of the chorus was so strange my first listen, but now is my favorite part. Oddly addictive

      Fully agree. They’re a great band for drummers testing the waters for new time signatures just through listening to a song for maybe 1 to 2 weeks you can then tap your foot to a signature you have never tried before also as a guitarist I’ve found some awesome chord progressions, Reptile will, I think forever be the pinnacle of production and the genre of metal. The way they compiled an album into the first song of which it was representing was astonishing. They always manage to change your emotions which was especially demonstrated in this with the ending, the fact they can switch GENRES successfully more than once in a song to not only set the tone but also creat a vibe for an entire album is crazy. I could go on all day about how great this band is.

    You had Sleep Token going randomly funky with The Summoning and now Periphery randomly adding Jazz to Wildfire.
    I really think bands are being influenced by Bilmuri and really going out there mixing genres in a way you wouldn't think would work.

    • @AtomicBear18

      Periphery adding jazz is not really random. There were quite a few jazz sections in Juggernaut

    I've been saying it for years, I love Periphery musically but, Spencer's vocals hold them back. Not that he isn't a good singer but, nothing he sings is interesting or catchy at all. Their first album was great but, that's because most of the lyrics and melodies were written by the other singers that were in the band before him. Nothing has compared since.

    • @skylar8197
      @skylar8197 2 ปีที่แล้ว +14

      On the contrast, I think he is one of the best vocalists alive. I don't think his lyrics typically have as much substance or emotion as say sleep token, but I think he's a perfect fit for Periphery

    • @Darkness109080
      @Darkness109080 2 ปีที่แล้ว +11

      Completely disagree, Spencer is a perfect fit

    • @coleslaw5013
      @coleslaw5013 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I disagree. I'm a slut for catchy and interesting choruses/vocal parts and Periphery always scratches that itch for me. Wildfire in particular is one of the most interesting and oddly catchy choruses I've heard in a bit.
