the more i listen to the album this one keeps climbing up the ranks, the vocal performance is just so amazing, it feels like spencer gets better and better with each album
Dude the rush i get every time this part comes on is unbelievable. For me i was getting painted images of castlevania vampires slowly approaching their preys and dashing in.
@@nikelodeon6852 when we're talking about periphery I agree but that whole part was just supposed to be a meshuggah ripoff and it sounds exactly like something from destroy erease improve so it's perfect
@@lassiliimakka Fredrik himself is not the soloist he once was. The guy had jazz fusion chops from allan holdsworth handbook. A better comparison would be his solo on blood eagle. That's also a chaotic solo and song overall but way better structure. This is just noodling. It's a shame cause the song is fantastic otherwise.
I just have to say.. i listened to this Song like 100 times in the last 2 Weeks... gets me everytime and on vinyl it starts on side D. 😂 It tells such a nice Story and every part works perfect for its purpose. Man.. these guys got me questioning my own songwriting.
What? That is definitely not rainbow gravity....lol....I'm curious what that song is also. Sounds really good. And I can't tell if it's Spencer or not. Kinda sounds similar but also a lot different so idk what it is either. If I figure it out I'll let you know
About memorizing them. I’ve been a drummer for years until COVID I picked up a guitar and started learning periphery. They have comfortable rhythm they tend to go back to. Many songs share parts. The Atropos rhythms and masamune rhythms are the same almost. I will say though I couldn’t have picked these rhythm guitar parts up with out the drumming background. I’m not kidding most of the strumming patterns make me feel like I’m playing hand percussion more so than guitar lol lots of 0-*-0-*-0-*-*-0 in each album. The starts denote scratchy mutes instead of harmonics in my lame tab

Saw it live a few weeks ago. Amazing.
Probably my favorite Periphery breakdown of all time
There was a part they used the same tune as a part in Atropos. Even ended it with "in the middle"
Fat Dracula is wide in the middle
@@lostinlucidity 🤪
Yeah, that is my favorite part! :-)
I absolutely love how they’ve been repeating and adding motifs since the first album
9 months on, 7:32 is fucking MINDBLOWING. the sea of sound here is just unbelievable to the ears

Favorite song on the album, love the chorus.
The only solo misha has on the album is in wildfire, this is jake
A minute afterwards someone pointed it out on the live stream lmao
It was also his worst solo😂

@@nikelodeon6852 i mean yeah very true but a lot of meshuggah songs have those tappy solos with repeated licks, it's their sound
8:43 Never gets old
You should definitely check out the drum playthrough, if you haven't already. It's amazing!
6:30 - 7:15 this vocal section reminds me so much of Mike Patton.
So good
@@Roguenjosh have you listened to Rainbow Gravity?
This song just keeps growing on me after each listen. The lyric video is amaze balls
By far my favorite track on the album. FYI that solo is Jake 🤘🔥 Edit: mentioned later, should've been patient 😅

my fav on the album followed closely by wax wings
My favorite song on this album

Rainbow gravity

Mark actually does a lot of the solos in the band

Periphery literally only plays in 4/4 🤯 edited to also say I'm like 80% sure those very low guttural vocals are Jake not Spencer
Not a fan of the last two albums.
Why not?
Im only a felan of this song. And not of the single that came out right before this album.
No one asked
