Thank you for the video. I have one of the Bond Ribbers but there was no instructions. You have helped me tremendously. Great video. I am missing many key plates though which may pose a problem :-(
Aww, you’re welcome. 😀 I am glad you found it useful. With keyplates missing it just limits the different thicknesses of yarns you’ll be able to knit with. 😕
In my mind, ribbers made me nervous and I felt intimidated but you've taken the trepidation away and now I'm off to buy me a ribber. Woohoo. Thank you.
Nice video, do you know, if all of the different bond models are same gauge? or is it more like a *chunky* flat bed knitting machine a'la 9 mm? i think i heard in some video that bond classic was a 8 mm.
I'm not familiar with BOND, but is this an actual ribber attachment or is this two main beds you put together? May I ask where you were able to purchase the parts that connected the two main beds together? Where would I find this machine SET? Thank you! 😁
Yes, this is actually a ribber attachment. The ribber is pretty much the same as the Elite but the Ribber came with different end caps that had white stoppers, so when the ribber was raised, it was always the same distance between both beds, the ribber had the needle number strip the other way around for reading, as the ribber sits in the opposite direction to the main bed. The ribber came with all the necessary tools, two ribber carriages, two sets of red keyplates that were for ribbing tension. And the brackets and other tools. You couldn’t just use a regular elite as a ribber, you’d need all the tools and attachments that came with the ribber.
It looks brand new, and it's the original model, the later one didn't have a screw on the ribber side the handle was just shut inside. Did it come with the edge weights?
I don’t want to sound like a know it all but the original one was as you mentioned, the fairing fixed to the main bed carriage with a single screw and the ribber carriage just held the fairing in place when you closed the ribber carriage. This is the improved version and having tried both versions, the later improved version, as seen in this video is much better. The only reason I know this is because I bought two Bond Elites and ribbers as there were pieces missing from the first one. The first one I bought had the older ribber fairing, so I basically took the ribber fairing from the second ribber I got as the bed and carriages on the older one was in better condition, I am so pleased I kept the newer fairing, it is sturdier and works a lot better. Regarding the edge weights, it did come with them, yes, the claws and the 7 hangers.
@@Thesweaterfactory Aye sorry, I've got mixed up, advancing years and six months in exile taking its toll. I've dug both my elites out and discovered the error of my ways! In the excavations I've also discovered a never out of its box incredible!
Wow, I have never seen a bond ribber. Now I want one! I'm in Australia and I can't seem to find. Thanks for the videos.

I love your video thank you so much
Where did you buy this machine with the ribber?
is it possible to do the same with two lk 150 knitting machines? Could I buy a ribber attachment or make some sort of one to make it possible?
Great demonstration 🤓 is this machine still sold today ?
Do you know where to get the brackets and other spare parts?
do you know where to buy one?

so don't you need to use waste yarn as well, or just the elastic to cast on with main wool
