Just a tip for next time, get a jam jar and pour a bottle of surgical spirit (you can get it from Boots) along with a few drops of knitting machine or sewing machine oil in the jar. Put all your needles in hook down. Give the jar a good shake, let it soak, give it shake, repeat this for 20 minutes or so. Take the needles out and lay them to dry on a piece of kitchen roll. As the spirit drys, which is pretty quick, the oil droplets will be left behind, leave that on there and then put the needles back in, this will lubricate the needles rubbing inside the machine and help it knit smoother and reduce any squeaking. Hope this helps, your demo was marvellous. 🙂
Sorry for the late reply! Thank you for sharing this information as I am sure others will find this info helpfull. At the time I didn't have any surgical spirit unfortunately. Thank you, I have had a few years experience as a craft teacher so hoping this will help as I start to make more videos with my knitting machines.
Sorry for the late reply., I hope you managed to find a suitable sponge bar. I did add some details in the description but at the time I uploaded the video but I was unable to add a link that worked at that time. I have updated the info now with a link that works.
@@GlowsCrafts thanks for your reply. I found a roll and replaced the sponge and it’s running beautifully. Thanks for posting the video I wouldn’t have been able to change the sponge without it 😊
