The way he deals with everyone he meets with is refreshing. not pretentious, willing to learn their story and communicate with them even if they can't speak... something that we don't see every day
With so much bs out there in today's world, it's always nice to see someone like Frankie. Just puts you in a good vibe. Pizza and people, that's what it's all about.
Hi, I'm Deaf and I know no one asked but I like to spread a little knowledge along my way through life, just in case: Being D(d)eaf isn't a matter of "can't" speak, we communicate just fine, it's a matter of using our language and trying to expand the minds of others. There are many, many deafies who choose never to speak. They'll really lips, write notes, and that is more work than you can imagine. They simply prefer to "speak" in their own language. Learning to read lips, even to read and write in English, is extremely difficult. ASL (American Sign Language) may use signs to infer/represent English words but it is not English. All most deafies ask is to be met halfway. We'll try if you'll try but don't expect any deafie can or cannot speak. The host of this show did an *amazing* job of focusing on his interview subject instead of yhe interpreter. That's something many people miss. Kudos to him and I enjoyed the segment.
The lady who owns Mozzeria looked so genuinely happy when Frank complimented her on her work hiring the deaf. That was a wonderful moment. So human. Very touching. I will definitely go there when I return home to the Bay Area.
When I took an American Sign Language in HS in the Bay Area you learn that to convey what you're signing you need to use your face ALOT. It felt awkward at first but its crucial. The School she was referring to is in Fremont Ca. I actually got to go there and dive into the culture for a class trip. They have a really nice school!
I absolutely adore how earnest the host was when the dude was like “haha it’s a little embarrassing I’ve been here for 38 years” and the host was genuinely, no bullshit stunned like “why is that embarrassing! That’s amazing!” That’s a dude who genuinely respects the craft and takes pride in his work, seeing the artistry that goes through generations as a must have quality for restaurants.
The all Deaf pizzeria was not only fantastic just as it is, but the fact they even HIRED Deaf craftsmen in the construction of the place just goes a step above and beyond. That's what I call impressive. Brought a tear to my eye.
Well he still has to feature St. louis style, Milwaukee style, Quad cities style, D.C. Jumbo style, Steubenville style, Providence grilled style, Buffalo style, Buenos Aires style, and Sicilian style to name a few pizza styles that need to still be covered.
It would be awesome but probably won't happen. Munchies videos are made to hit a goal of a million views on average. Season 1 did amazingly well averaging two million per video, but this season is much lower like 700k views. Really doubt they'll bring it back anytime soon, but I'd like to be wrong about that.
These pizzerias just need to realise that there's too much crust! Half the pie has no sauce or toppings.. cmon guys sauce and dress 90% of that thing not 50%
Frank Pinello is a terrific, open minded host. I feel like he's equally comfortable with ultra traditional pizza as he is with unusual regional takes. Dude is never out of his element and doesn't shrug off anything out of hand. I'm a northeast thin crust guy, but that Indian style pizza looks fantastic. I've also seen a few midwestern deep dish pies that I'd love to dig into. The one rule I have for pizza is keep it savory. Pineapple, honey, etc just destroys a good tomato sauce. I think the simple sugars break it down.
Just watching random munchies shows hoping to rid myself of this anxiety and I must say, Frank brought a smile to my face when nothing else could. What a genuine soul.
Wow, the story of the two deaf couples is an absolute inspiration. Instead of letting their disabilities limit them they made the best out of it and beyond. You can tell the happiness brimming from smiles. Thank you for this episode!
This is the best representative of the whole of Viceland. He is so respectful without being repressed and an excellent communicator. I stan. i love it when I look on the side bar and notice a new episode of The Pizza Show.
As a Bay Area native, I love the way that Frank showcased the pizza scene here. I love Zantes and live near it! Gotta check out the other places highlighted in this episode.
The story of that deaf pizzaiola is AMAZING. I took two years of ASL in high school (forgot most all signs since) every deaf person I met was a really cool person with an interesting life story! What an awesome culture!
Right! I love seeing stories of people stepping up to help provide opportunities to those within in their community that often gets overlooked in others. Bravo!
Frank pinello is such a humble dude, it’s always refreshing seeing him with people. You can tell he’s one of those guys that’s just liked by everyone he meets.
San Francisco is made for the future of pizza. Mediterranean climate, intense food scene, wealthy, open-minded, high immigrant base. The community is old enough to be established but young and vibrant enough to try new methods and styles. They can take pizza in a lot of new directions. Great season ending episode. One of my favorite series on TH-cam.
*That husband and wife from the Mozzeria pizza joint they are both pure gems, i love them. They look so happy and passionate about what they do, especially for the deaf community and what they do for them. I wish the world was filled with more great people like them.*
Munchies are changing into non series channel Frank still appears but not in series The prove is : The last episode of pizza show (not the extra slice) isn't even listed in the season 2 episodes
Frank is the best! He is so damn genuine, and loves what he does, it just makes me smile! Also, if you’re reading Frank, thanks for the entertainment and keep going man, rooting for your success!
Haha! Man I hate to say it but all those people at the winery seemed sooo pretentious. I normally wouldn't judge but I lived in Portland for twelve years and they remind me of some of those people. The kind of people that just hope to god everyone is looking at them!
Indian Pizza is good but the dude calling himself Godfather multiple times was annoying. The pizza looks pretty decent though, but there's a lot of Pizzas in India that use Indian toppings but the normal tomato sauce as the base, and those are truly amazing. Masala sauce and chutney for the base doesn't sound that great.
I *only* watch a new episode when I'm eating pizza. I'm now at this episodes after a few months, it makes it so much better ! I wish they made a season 3 already !
Frank Pinello is the purest human being on earth, Munchies give this man a season 3 and many more. I really love this show every episode ive watched with a smile on my face, keep doing this awesome series.
Some ideas for Season 3 locations: Sicily, Tuscany, Milan, Toronto, London, Tokyo, Sydney, Buenos Aires for international locations. Domestic locations: Boston, St. Louis, Cleveland, Baltimore for old-style locations. Seattle, New Orleans, Miami and Hawaii for emerging markets.
Man this episode hooked me on the show. The section for the deaf pizza company was super endearing and it was great to see them all loosen up at the end
dude shouldn't have told Frank about the peach pizza. he's like "okay, you lost me at peach man." and the indian dude is kinda pompous but i like his enthusiasm so it's all good. the all-deaf staffed pizzeria is just incredible. that's real humanity right there. i would love to meet them. so much love for all these people. and i'm ALL about the spontaneous tattoo sesh. i have a few of those myself and all it represents is the best memories, it does not matter what it looks like and i guarantee you that Frank will never regret it.
Man I love watching The Pizza Show. I've been recently making pizza and I love to just pop an ep of this show and relax. Frank is an honest dude who loves people and pizza.
Not really. I lived in Tokyo for 3 months, it's not really a pizza culture. It's also pretty hard to find, even in touristy areas like Shinjuku and Roppongi. Japanese don't really care for pizza all that much...
amazing man ! it restores a lot of hope to me personally... so i guess i am not going to give up after all. trust me when i say "ive been through a lot and have a long way to go." thats something you cannot measure on any scale that exists. thank you and all the amazing ppl you showcase !
thank you frank for sharing pizza growing up with a Sicilian mother i grew up with pizza now to see it has touched so many lives it makes me realize why my mom made me help her make pizza as a kid and make donuts with the left overs .
There’s a pizza place in SF and it’s called Pizza Orgasmica. My favorite is the “Doggy Style” which is a meat lovers lmao. Anyways good video. Frank is the man!!!

Everyone on Food Network or w/e has a corny (lol) feeling after a while whether it's a slogan, a saying, a word, or whatever. I LOVE Munchies! Who doesn't??
Honestly, it has a lot to do with how some Italians simply are, and shouldn't always be considered rude or condescending. Not saying it should be like that, but it's because of different reasons. Source: been to Italy several times.
Yes, he was totally off putting and arrogant. They make a good pizza, but Tony's Pizza Napoletana is better and Tony is a gracious and charismatic guy. Wish Frank had interviewed him instead of that putz.
Okay, I really loved this episode and I have been really appreciative of Frank's warm character, politeness and genuine enthusiasm in every episode I have watched so far. But I have an issue with the interpreter behind him being cut out of every shot here! He is an intrinsic part of this experience for everyone involved and deserves recognition, not only for his addition to the team but because his work is valuable and unique. Next time, give him some air time and some gratitude!
That's the difference between hiring an actual chef instead of some random graduate from a journalism school.
TELL THIS SHOW TO COME TO BOSTON, THEY HATIN.
I think he's amazing and so darn polite.

Yo that deaf guy was one of the most expressive people that has been on this show, and he did it without his voice.
compelling
For me this is the best pizzeria Frank has ever been in.
I loved instantly both owners somehow. Dunno.
He only said like 3 sentences....
WHAT?
I absolutely adore how earnest the host was when the dude was like “haha it’s a little embarrassing I’ve been here for 38 years” and the host was genuinely, no bullshit stunned like “why is that embarrassing! Frank is so damn polite and interested AND interesting all at the same time.... Just a great human.
Word, seems like such a humble dude. It's rare to see true listeners and those willing to learn hosting shows.
GIve the man a Season 3, 4 and 5
Im with that!!
Well he still has to feature St. louis style, Milwaukee style, Quad cities style, D.C. Jumbo style, Steubenville style, Providence grilled style, Buffalo style, Buenos Aires style, and Sicilian style to name a few pizza styles that need to still be covered.
me too, love this series ! !
All DAY. I love and adore this series with Frank equally as much as I loathe and abhor everything with Matty Matheson.
It would be awesome but probably won't happen. Munchies videos are made to hit a goal of a million views on average. Season 1 did amazingly well averaging two million per video, but this season is much lower like 700k views. Really doubt they'll bring it back anytime soon, but I'd like to be wrong about that.
That all-deaf staffed pizzeria was inspiring!
I saw their food truck a while ago and was like damn that’s cool
These pizzerias just need to realise that there's too much crust! Half the pie has no sauce or toppings.. cmon guys sauce and dress 90% of that thing not 50%
made me tear up a lil
thats how the neapolitan style pizzas are made
Depending on the style, the crust is the main part of the dish which is why you sometimes don't see as much toppings or sauce.
WE NEED A SEASON 3!! Absolutely love this series!
Ikr this show is the shit. I love it
VICE is too busy calling white people racist to make high quality content that made it popular like this.
@@dontdex8221 i know, they should be doing both things
I miss Frank and this show so much

Frank is definitely one of the best presenters I've ever seen! Very humble, very intelligent. Amazing!
The all-deaf pizzeria was amazing. Frank is so nice to everyone! I love how Frank ended up totally buzzed at the winery haha Wine will getcha!
I cried when the def owner was telling her story. Beautiful.

back when i worked in SF, we'd get indian pizza a lot (lots of indian workers in the office). that shit is actually pretty good
I used to live down the street from Zante's. 5 years later and I still crave that shit
D B New York pizza ain’t better than Chicago my guy , y’all cheap on the cheeze .... deep dish is tourist shit , thin crust is where it’s at
I couldn't stop smiling when those deaf people we're telling and explaining things.
Truly inspiring.
Just watching random munchies shows hoping to rid myself of this anxiety and I must say, Frank brought a smile to my face when nothing else could. What a genuine soul.
I relate to this so much
One of the best series on TH-cam for sure
Seconded. Its somewhat popular and still hugely underrated.
Frank needs to be on Hot Ones with Sean
PLEASE
And not dab hot sauce on wings but pizza
Frank is such a good host. I watch this show becasue of him and his personality.

Wow, the story of the two deaf couples is an absolute inspiration. Instead of letting their disabilities limit them they made the best out of it and beyond. You can tell the happiness brimming from smiles. Thank you for this episode!
It is Commifornia. Disability checks last about a week. So even the deaf got to work.
Frank helps remind me to try to be a positive, curious, and earnest person. I am thankful for Frank!
That "Brooklyn accent" was like a slap in Frank's face but he's too nice to say anything haha
IntroSpecktive he tried lol
Im from Canada and I do a better Brooklyn accent hahha
For real. Franks the man.
IntroSpecktive ya Frankie was being nice, it’s like if Frank started speaking like Hop Sing.

Totally agree.

As a Bay Area native, I love the way that Frank showcased the pizza scene here. I love Zantes and live near it! Gotta check out the other places highlighted in this episode.
I rewatch the Pizza Show every day. It's the best series on Munchies, imo. Bring back The Pizza Show!!
The story of that deaf pizzaiola is AMAZING. I took two years of ASL in high school (forgot most all signs since) every deaf person I met was a really cool person with an interesting life story! What an awesome culture!
Wow.. Veras pizzeria is such an inspiring and touching story. Best munchies episode to date!

it was so inspiring !
On a tangent, though I love how they edited it so it made it look like he knew exactly what she was signing.
I got to figure out how they did that.
I REALLY appreciate Frank's humility and willingness to learn from everyone he meets
I like that Frank is so patient with the Pizzeria owners who are schooling him on how to make a Pizza. He never says
" Yeah, Yeah, I know, I know"
Give this man a season 3. Love this show and Frank is an amazing host
Adam O'Gara Agreed!!!
He better get a season 3
Frank is a cool dude, cheers my guy. Cheers to the deaf couple, too!
Frank pinello is such a humble dude, it’s always refreshing seeing him with people. You can tell he’s one of those guys that’s just liked by everyone he meets.
"Have fun eatin that pizza, man"
quote of the century
West coast in a nutshell.
Frank was like "This aint pizza, but this is some AMAZING Indian food on Naan"
Im wondering if Frank ever thinks like hmm this pizza does not taste good...
If he thinks it, I don't think he's ever said it on camera lol
I see these comments everytime
He probably also never eats Dollar slices
Just watch the Philly or Obsession episodes. You can clearly tell when he doesn't like it. He just responds with "that's interesting."
Well, you can tell if he likes it. He’ll say “I already know I’m gonna like this. It’s thin and crispy just the way I like it.”
Frank is a Genuine person, guy really seems to love what he does!! This is what makes this show great!!
I always get pizza cravings whenever I watch this.
That's because you're doin it wrong. You gotta watch the Pizza Show *with* pizza.
Ryan Oliver try watching this during a fast while doing a low carb diet. If you don’t know what fun is, try it.

This was a great episode. Loved the deaf pizzeria and that last pizza party in Napa was great.
