Rim Lights - Natural & Artificial -- LISA

In this video, Lisa and I shoot for the last Summer water session. We've wanted to do a water session for a couple years and final made it happen.
The sun peeking through the trees offered us a pretty nice rim light in some spots, while I had to add a back light to create a nice rim light in other areas.
Thanks to Lisa for working with me. She's too kind and humble and working with her is a favorite for me.
I shot these photos with the Canon EOS R5 and paired it with both the Canon RF 50mm and 85mm f1.2. They were lit with the GODOX AD600 and AD200.

aw maaan you did it again with this one.. just amazingggg shots...YOU definetly have a spot on youtbe doing videos just like this. reminds me of irene rudnicks videso, verey dreamy amd crisp.....its funny because i usually like the 85 more tha 5o but for this shoot i think the 50 was perfect

Same. The 85 is my go to. But the 50 fit the scene better.

I think the low angle shots in the water are my favorites. Somehow showing the water movement with those shots really give it a nice touch.

Great work! I have been binge watching all your videos since I found you a few days ago! I like how easy and relaxing yet informative it is to watch how you work.
I love how intentional you are with your shots, it reminds me to slow down a little and work with the model on the pose before bringing up my camera and just over shooting. I'm looking forward to hopefully seeing some editing videos soon!

Stunning. Jason are you shooting High Speed Sync to get 1/320?
With that much ambient light, would one still get banding if you use flash? My entry level flashes cannot do HSS, but would love to try a shoot like this.

I've always found that flash photos look really fake and unnatural. The light from the flash doesn't match the tonality of the ambient colors.
