As an Alabama spotted bass guide, I've used Roostertails in streams for over 40 years now. The old "Glow Bug" (GBL) or black/gold blade is the #1 Survival Lure in my bugout bag. I only use 4 colors anymore; the GBL, grey minnow, black/silver blade, and the brown 'Salmon Fly'. One time, I was using the GBL on the Cahaba River here. A bluegill popped the surface and I fired a cast at it. The bream hit as soon as it landed. I fought it to the canoe where I saw WHY it had popped the surface. On one of my lure's hooks, inside the fish's mouth, was the still wiggling black army ant it had eaten. Talk about "Match the hatch"! Good stuff. 👍🏼👍🏼
For a bug out, I would throw a few olives in there. I have done a lot of spinner and fly fishing. Which always keep the big three (black, olive, and brown). If the water is stained then chartreuse and orange can be killer as well.
I was soothed by this wonderful video in such a beautiful location. The little brown trout are so cute! Fishing is so enjoyable, isn't it? Wishing you all fantastic fishing experiences! Thank you.
OK, yeah. Your thumbnail read my mind?? LoL The all black body Rooster Tail, black hair, and gold blade is the EXACT LURE I was using this morning!! Broke my Rainbow Trout Drought with it. Two Rainbows and a Brookie in about an hour and a half👍
Dude I can’t believe you posted that exact lure. I bought a glitter black about a month ago and caught my 2 biggest ever brook trout on the very first two casts. Already my fav spinner. Awesome Vid 👌🏼
Rooster tails are the best all round spin bait there is. I've caught everything from blue gill, crappie, bass, Trout and even catfish here in the foothills and mountains central California on them back in the 60's and 70's
When snags are a problem, I've had pretty good success using a curly tail grub. Fish it like you would fish a spinner. The important thing is that you rig the grub with the tail pointing up and centered with the hook shank of the Jughead. It will track straight if you rig it like that. You can retrieve it slower and not worry as much about snagging. Works great in situations where the fish aren't very aggressive.
im so happy to watch your fishing videos i live them im a fishing freak i live your videos 🎉🎉 some time you should go fish in malad the resivor theres huge fish🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉!
Watching on 2 devices because I can only leave comments on this one. At least the commercials play on both. I'm a human being and not a "bot" (TH-cam and others). I watch because I enjoy Fish Hawk's channel so play nice, TH-cam! You show twice as many ads (so long as each is less than 5 minutes). No cause to consequence anyone due to this. This device is only 1080P. The other one is 4K. This and because I can only comment on this lower resolution device is exactly why, 2 devices.
Okay , first off, great vid as always....second, the Browns you caught that were wild n'all....do they "stock" Browns in the area you were fishin? I've heard of stocking Bows and the such but I haven't heard of stocking Browns. 🤷♂️ Just curious here n'all, nuthin more. Love the vidz man and plz keep em comin as always....peace ✌😎
Hey dude, love this video series and your videos in general. I have a quick question for you, and others here too: Why do my rooster tails frequently get tangled on themselves? They're connected to a snap-swivel at the end of my braid. When I cast and then real end, I find the treble has got hooked on to the swivel or some other part of itself. That means my entire retrieve, I've just been reeling in a non-working lure!! Ugh... Any help would be appreciated!! -- fishing in the NW, small streams and reservoirs for trout/hatchery fish! Thanks

How do you get them to stay spinning?

Love the content!. Good old rooster tail caught me tons of fish..
Awesome job buddy! That spinner works perfectly! No doubt when fishing you’re likely to catch fish you weren’t expecting to catch!
The Worden's rooster tail is my favorite lure that I've been using for years. The all white half ounce is my favorite size.
Spot yang sangat indah dan banyak ikan , smoga harimu selalu bahagia kawan,
Loved that bonus smallie at the end
The turtle was a great scene, the video is great . I never caught a trout. Where I live it's sog's and small mouth. Great video.
Still nice catch! My favorite rooster tail is the green gold blade, deadly on steelhead and so many species
Great video ...nice spot...
Amazing place👍🎣
I have stream fished with Rooster tails, different types, only problem is snags...Nice fishin Hawk, for Natives!

Sometime, could you do an instructional on your under cast and your back side (left to right) cast?

Great footage as always. Are tics very bad there.
Black rooster tail with white stripes is deadly here in U.K.
👍
Do you use an ultra light rod sir?
Rock Bass have red eyes, Black Crappie
Rock bass not a crappie
What was that last fish you caught?
I gave you a super thanks/$50
Panther Martins are the best but I can't afford them.
Fish big one I want to see it
where you fishing at
how can you catch a wild brown trout? aren't those things native to Europe
They are brook trout
You are a better fisherman than me if you catch trout on Rooster Tails. Worst spinner ever. Panther Martin and even Mepps are much better.
Rooster tails work,I have been lucky with the two you mentioned too...
@@richardmcnamara8530 I find it hard to get them to spin consistently….but agree, they do occasionally work.
