  • In today's vlog we are checking into the Hilton Orlando Bonnet Creek for a quick stay overnight! Thank you to the Hilton for inviting us out and for inviting us to have dinner at La Luce, one of the restaurants in the Hilton. We start with a tour of our room. We stayed in one of the executive suites and it was wonderful! We had so much space! Then we head out to Disney Springs, which was just a quick 5 minute drive. We had lunch at Everglazed Donuts, which just opened! We were so excited to try a burger, some donuts and their Reeses cold brew! We gave our review of lunch, we liked it for the most part but we did think it was a bit pricey, it's definitely worth a try on your next visit to Disney Springs. Then we head back to the hotel for dinner at La Luce, which is a traditional Italian restaurant at the Hilton Orlando Bonnet Creek. We loved being able to eat outside on their patio overlooking the pool. We tried a little bit of everything! Jackson really liked his salmon, Jenn had pasta and I had the pork. Everything had great flavors and it was just a really nice meal. We take some desserts back to the room and try those, also really nice. We end the night with a chat about why you should check out the good neighbor and partner hotels on your next Disney trip. We couldn't believe how much more you get for the price at hotels off property. Have you stayed off property on your Orlando trip? Which hotel did you stay at and did you think it was a deal? Let us know in the comments down below! We hope you enjoyed hanging out with us today! Thank you for watching and we'll see you tomorrow with a new vid!

I’m all for making videos about how to stay off-property, but what I’d appreciate even more are some videos about REAALLLY budget places to stay off-property, with a comparison to staying at, say, a Disney Pop Century level hotel for pricing. I think a lot of people are happy to sacrifice staying at a SUPER nice hotel when they’re only going to be sleeping in the room for 8 hours a day, but I’ve struggled to find that sweet spot between “this place is fine for a cheap Orlando place to sleep” and “‘This place is close to the parks but I don’t feel at all safe/clean at this property”. Would love to see some of your suggestions of how to do a WDW trip on a shoestring!!

When I first started doing WDW trips as an adult, I would stay at the Lake Buena Vista Best Western on Hotel Blvd (which is currently closed for renovation/building a new tower) For the kinds of folks who only need a bed and a shower on your visit, I absolutely suggest looking into the more economical offerings in and around the property.

Been watching your vlogs for years and really enjoy you guys. $500 and $750 for a room is not a reasonable price for a room per night for a lot of people, when you can get a room on I Drive or the 192 much cheaper and drive to the parks even having to pay for parking.

    • @marshaa8288

Yes! The Magical Express is the reason we were going to stay on property. The "all inclusiveness". I have no idea how to do ride share with an entire family, and perceive it as a very stressful endeavor. So it means we would rent a car. So we will be driving to each park, anyway, so why drop the extra bucks on a tiny Disney room when you can get a plush Good Neighbor room for less money, or a way better room for the same? I hope Disney knows they basically lost my room and board by cancelling the Magical Express.

    • @kc6796

Jim I never pay Disney parking because I never rent a vehicle. Uber works out way cheaper than rental + gas + parking so I don’t know why anyone would rent, unless they want to go further afield and explore more of Orlando. That being said, I’m learning more and more that people’s opinions of what constitutes “expensive” is extremely variable....! For some, $300 a night for a hotel in Orlando is “cheap”. To me, it’s more like $50 a night 😄

    • @joannab5584
      @joannab5584 3 ปีที่แล้ว

@Jim, the reason they didn’t charge you the $25 to park at the theme parks is bc they already charged you $25 per day for parking your car at Caribbean Beach. They do this so you don’t get charged twice. They will get their $25/day parking fee out of everyone who parks their car on Disney property one way or another lol! Annual pass holders essentially still pay too, its just incorporated into the yearly cost of their annual pass.

100% this is a bridal suite and they get bug $$$$ for this with weddings. All that space is designed to be for the Bride and her bridesmaids to get ready. That seems like the primary purpose. But they could certainly sell it for executives as well and sell it for more money because it is being expensed.

Love to see Hilton Bonnet Creek today. am missing being there this month because my company usually has our annual conference there every January. Other great perks not mentioned in today’s video is that there is an actual Disney Store on-site that sells tickets. Concierge desk also has a great variety of ticket options and staff at both locations are very knowledgeable. It’s been since Jan. 2020 that I’ve been at the hotel, so things may have changed, but 2pm and 5pm park entry tickets used to be available, which were handy and not specific to a day, just an expiration date. If these tix aren’t available now at Hilton Bonnet Creek, hopefully this will come back later!

I haven't felt like we were missing out by not staying at a Disney Resort! Highly recommend. Thanks for sharing this visit! I loved watching.

So if you have your own vehicle staying off property isnt bad for sure! Yall should check out the grove!

I’ve been trying to tell friends for a WHILE that staying on Disney property these days really is not worth it anymore. The prices for 1 room could get you an entire house with individual bed rooms. Also, you’re gonna be coming in contact with less people if you rent a house.
Plus, the dining program is suspended at the moment so you’re paying insane prices for subpar food most of the time. There are some incredible restaurants right outside the parks and in the Orlando area overall. Unless you’re staying on Disney Property for the first time or have kids that are REALLY expecting that, save your time and money.

The Hilton looks lovely. Slight correction: it's an Official resort, not a Good Neighbor resort. "Good Neighbor" resorts do not get the Disney resort park reservations availability. "Official Resorts" do get the Disney resort park reservations availability. The Official Resorts are:
B Resort & Spa Lake Buena Vista
    Best Western Lake Buena Vista
    DoubleTree Suites by Hilton Orlando
    Four Seasons Resort
    Hilton Orlando Lake Buena Vista
    Hilton Orlando Buena Vista Palace
    Hilton Orlando Bonnet Creek
    Holiday Inn Orlando
Shades of Green® on Walt Disney World® Resort
    Waldorf Astoria Orlando
    WDW Dolphin Hotel
    WDW Swan Hotel
    Wyndham Lake Buena Vista
    Wyndham Garden Lake Buena Vista
There are lots of Good Neighbor resorts that have to use the Tickets-only pool of availability for park reservations.
