    What a meal presentation. Everything is a beautiful production! My husband would love this. Lots of science going on!! A bit noisy, but it's hard to find romantic dinners anymore! Very nice!

    • @TheHolyMoly
      @TheHolyMoly  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It was noisy for sure. I have noticed that the more some people drink the louder they become. There were a couple of table like that during our dinner. I do think this is much more noticeable when filming then when actually just having a conversation at the table. It was loud but not as loud as it seems in the video ( I hope I explained the correctly ) I can honestly say the food and the presentation more then made up for the noise! Thank you for your comment!

      Mark Alan Hemphill we have not had dinner at Victoria and Alberts, But we have had dinner at Remy on the Disney Fantasy. We have watched a number of videos from Victoria and Alberts and we have talked about the experience with our friends Tim and Jenn and they are almost identical experiences in terms of food quality and service. With that being said the Bull and Bear provides the same level of food and service. Some if not all of the things we tried were incredibly complex and used ingredients that we had never experienced . The main difference is we found the Bull and Bear much more relaxed and casual vs Remy (or V&A) that is very formal. We have enjoyed both experiences. I think for price Bull and Bear is a better deal. The meal and drinks for Charmaine and I came to $300. Dinner at Victoria and Alberta with a Wine paring will cost $500 for two. That is before you choose any other addon’s.

    Oh Em Gee, Chris! Your foodie cred tripled when you mentioned the fried chicken from Willie Mae's Scotch House in NOLA, what I consider to be the USA foodie capital! I have stories about this place (besides the slow service LOL) including how we would invite and treat the taxi drivers to eat lunch with us just so we would be able to get a ride back to the Quarter LOL! This was before Uber/Lyft apps existed. All I can say about your meal is WOW! A 15-minute edit could only give this vlog justice if it was in 3 parts of 15 minutes each LOL! I am well acquainted with the original Bull & Bear at the now closed W=A in NY. It was an old school steakhouse. We'd eat there only if we didn't want to leave the hotel. It was never a destination steakhouse. Our steakhouse choice in NY was always Morton's on 45th. They don't need to put a slab of butter under your steak to make it taste good like all the other steakhouses do! The favorite restaurant overall on WDW property has always been California Grill. This Bull & Bear (B&B) is a complete renewal of the NY original. I'd call it a gastro steakhouse if such a thing exists. The server was amazing. Definitely a 30%-40%+ tipping experience. He wasn't just serving your plates, and assembling them, but he added narration and backstory LOL. Though I'm not sure of the pedigree of the Kensington ketchup mentioned. I've never even heard of it in the UK. I am certain that Oysters Rockefeller originated at Antoine's in the French Quarter in the 19th Century. Maybe B&B has their own version that originated at the original NY location. I'm not sure how the veal stock belongs in a Bernaise Sauce but I doubt that gorgeous perfectly-red steak needed it. This dining experience is definitely a must do! Thank you for sharing! It was well worth the 45-minute investment of time to watch this vlog. Instead of telling the B&B server "I'll have what he's having," we should be able to ask for the Holy Moly dinner! BTW, do you recall the server's name? That was so wonderful to watch! Thanks again! I am now very hungry for dinner LOL!

    • @TheHolyMoly
      @TheHolyMoly  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That was a fantastic tip for Willie Maes in NOLA. We spent about 45 min waiting for a cab to pick us up after our last visit back in 2016. Uber was not an option. I would love to try Morton’s , our go to steak house in Calgary is Ruth’s Chris. We know the owners, or I should say the group of artists my wife represents are friends with the owner. We get a bit of royal treatment when we go there. You are absolutely correct about the sauces. I think I may have tried one or two , but the steak was perfect on its own. The only sauce we used was the Hennessy cognac for the beef tallow fries. It was spectacular. The veal stock in the Bernard was a very interesting twist of the classic sauce. It was very good, although Bernese is not one of my favourite sauces (I am not not that fond of tarragon ) that is a god point about Antoine’s and the creation of the oysters Rockefeller . I need to research that now. Thanks for this awesome comment. I also agree with you assessment of California Grill. It is the best on property restaurant at WDW by a long shot.

      @denizalgazi 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@TheHolyMoly The Willie Mae's tip is crucial! My NOLA foodie holidays have always been very well planned to the point that every single meal for every day is planned before arriving. It's the only town that I do this LOL! I don't visit NOLA for Bourbon Street activities. It really is all about the food. I have my favourites and dinner is usually at a classic fine dining restaurant like Antoine's, Galatoire's, Commander's Palace, Arnaud's etc. (more so for the history). I don't care for the John Besh restaurants. I prefer the classic Creole and Cajun cuisines. Beignets and chicory au lait for breakfast at Cafe du Monde at the French Market location only. Disney's beignets do not compare whether at the Parks or onboard ship. The muffaletta from Central Grocery to keep in the hotel room fridge LOL. Lunch at Mother's. I could eat there every day! I am not a fan of Po Boys. So I cannot recommend any shops. I'd rather eat the prawns by themselves LOL. I've been eating at Morton's for many decades. It is still good but since it was bought out by a large restaurant group, I have noticed a decline. Subscribe to their emails for their specials. My friends in NY just had their $26USD NYC Restaurant Week steak lunch special! The Morton's in Orlando is near Sand Lake Road near the Trader Joe's, Whole Foods and Publix supermarkets. But I would go to Seasons 52 nearby first, and Morton's if I was in the mood for a steakhouse dinner. There is an inexpensive steakhouse near WDW, Manny's. It's okay. It's more about convenience there. Can't expect much for a $20 USD steak dinner LOL. Thanks again for posting the B&B vlog. That was a very special meal!

      We have enjoyed Mothers, Cafe Du Monde and I had a couple of Muffalettas from the Central Grocery. The next time you go back I would highly recommend the Royal Oyster House on our favorite street in the French Quarter - Royal Street. Thanks again !

      @@MyDayOff I have held off of Victoria and Albert's because of the price. We did a video on the Disney Fantasy from Remy and it is pretty much the same level of experience but with a way better view. The Cost for Remy is WAY less then Victoria and Albert's. It was only $75 pp plus what ever you add on.

    • @TheHolyMoly
      @TheHolyMoly  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      There were a couple groups of really loud groups who may have had a bit too much to drink. Making videos in Restaurants is probably the hardest type of video to film. I have invested a new Wireless microphone system since that night, to help in future videos. If I had had my old camera it would have been way worse. At least I had a shotgun mike for this video. Sorry about that.
