props to borla. this is a really well put together video and the driver/narrator actually sounds like he knows what hes talking about. and good job on getting the manual.
I love the way you guys do these videos. Even if you don't like what the guy is saying you see and hear what you came for. What each exhaust sounds like from behind the car and inside. And that is exactly what I wanted.
"Dude looks so wasted/stoned" how many people are gonna comment saying that.. This exhaust sounds awesome in my opinion. Just got an S-type for myself and i LOVE it.
I thought I was hearing British sports car soundtrack with those Touring mufflers. I couldn't believe I was looking at a Mustang, and hearing a Jag E-type. Beautiful!
large amount of audio distortion at 0:28-0:37. horrible, either you increased the internal volume of the recording to make your product appear "louder", or your microphone cant handle that many db. as a professional corporation, audio quality should be taken into consideration when displaying a product that affects sound.
I recently installed a set of Touring axleback's on my 2012 V6 convertible. At first, I had a low-end drone at 2000 rpm. It was pretty annoying inside. I contacted Borla and they were awesome. They sent me a pair of venturi's that install midships that did tone down the drone. They sound wonderful now, and when you kick it, it's awesome. Inside noise is to a minimum and when cruising at 70, just a nice low-end rumble. It made the car really fun to drive.
So far Borlas are the only pipes I've heard that don't make the v6 sound like a ricer. Flowmaster and magnaflow really dropped the ball on this one. I wouldn't mind picking up some touring pipes since I like to keep my pony in sleeper mode.
@@shrek9772 Depends, it's a lower pitched sound. I'm running a 5.3L motor with a lot of mods and to be really loud you have to get to around 2200RPM imo.
I bought these a year ago and loved them at first. Then a few weeks later a honda passed me and I became extremely embarrassed because my car sounded exactly like his. In my honest opinion these are hyped up way too much and are definitely not worth the money. I ended up being so displeased with the sound of my exhaust that I traded my v6 in for a GT. Put some roush exhaust on my GT and now life is good.
So just for the sound of it you decided to buy a GT instead of keeping your V6?!? You're a weird 1, aren't you? :-P I don't get why people make such a fuss over the exaust-sound. Does the car drive and perform the way you like it? Good. Does the exaust sound less loud than you'd like? Big freaking deal. (Caring about that so much makes me wonder why you buy a car in the 1st place: Because you like it, or because you want others to look at you for it?!?)
***** You can make any car sound like any other car if you'd put enough money in it. Maybe if sound is the most important thing to you you would be better off buying a stereo-set with some c.d.'s filled with engine/exaust sounds then. :-P And then... when you grow old enough to realise it's actually road performance, power and stuff like that is the thing that counts you should buy a car. ;-)
***** ''I ended up being so displeased with the sound of my exhaust that I traded my v6 in for a GT.'' Nothing in there about you selling your V6 because you didn't like the performance, power and stuff like that. I'm pretty sure you already knew that the GT would be better at that before buying the V6, so that still doesn't explain why you first bought the V6 then?!? All in all it just sounds to me that apparently some people need to compensate for something with exhaust-noises. In an ironic way that surely does sound pretty damn funny to me. :-P
Wow, they all sound really great. The S-type sounds a little bit like a VR6 from low revs, which is one of my favorite exhaust notes. I'm not the biggest fan of the styling of these cars but I'm really considering one. They sound great and they've done very well in numerous comparison tests. I think it was the fastest in Car and Drivers under $30k contest.
Hello Borla.. Great sound is important, but weight or lessening of weight is more important. I would rather have a 3200 pound v6 than a 3800 pound V8. Question : -... how much does each muffler of the 3 mufflers weigh for a 2014 mustang v6
1111pyramids1111 Looking at the system weight and the stock weight, you should be saving 29lbs over stock. The stock is 71lbs where the Borla is only 42lbs.
1111pyramids1111 Are you serious? There is not a 600lb difference between a V6 and a V8. The coyote only weighs 444lb dry by itself. I would say a 50-75lb difference at best
@@fruitmonsta1809 It not just the engine weight. The V8 has more crankshaft, two more heads cams rods pistons. Also larger stronger transmission, drive shaft, rear end, larger springs, larger shocks, larger front & back brakes. Larger cooling system, larger radiator, more gallons of coolant, larger hoses, larger coolant pump. ECT, ECT. Just ask WHY, a camaro weights 4,400 pounds. In 1982 a Buick Park Avenue or Olds 98 or Olds 88 weight was 4,200 to 4,400 pounds. Today's pony cars are 1,000 to 1,500 pounds overweight. 1965 mustang with six cylinder engine 2,600 pounds. V-8 at 2,950 pounds.
These do sound good, but Dynomax is coming out with a system too. It is going to feature their Ultra-Flow mufflers. Oh yea, Borla it is about time you got around to making these videos, and you did do a good job of it.
Would these sound similar with a good 3rd party x-pipe (like flowmaster scavenger-x). I'm assuming all these kits were cat-backs rather than axle-backs? The metallic cackle of the ATAK is addicting.
when he says you can sneak up on people that think the car is stock, the people thinking the car is stock are right. these exhaust systems are axle-back systems meaning the start at the rear axle and go back from there. they are only noise. keep in mind all these systems are over $650 on AmericanMuscle. for power go with a cat-back system. you will be much happier with the sound. i have a 2011 5.0 (the one in the picture) with the magnaflow competition catback system and its awesome. I like the sound of the Touring Exhaust the best here. With a V8, I would choose the S-Type... AKA Stinger System. My brother has FRPP Stingers on his modded '08 Mustang GT & it sounds freaking incredible! After he added a Steeda 90mm CAI, his car actually got a little bit louder! I guess that's from the extra air being sucked in from the new intake. It definitely makes a throaty sound while taking off from the intake area & there's more of a roar coming from the tailpipes. Awesome!
