    Aside from the Collymore signings, the run from 1992-2000 is seriously impressive. All players went on to have legendary runs st the club that sogned them. Compare that with the most expensive signings in modern times

      Dortmund was desperate to compete with Bayern and chose to spend in their style, but without any of the restraint and brain behind it.

    Personally, I do find it interesting that three of the first four most expensive signings were Nottingham Forest players. It's surprising that they got relegated at all in 1992/93 when they had so much talent at their disposal (but not at all surprising that they bounced back to finish 3rd in 1994/95).

    I was wondering if you could do a video on on who would be the 20 teams to feature in the Premier League if relegation was abolished. Excluding the top 6 (7?) Of course and teams based on just by being in the Premier League now. I was just looking through the EFL recently and was really shocked at the size of some of the teams down there.

    • @calvinbaII
      @calvinbaII ปีที่แล้ว +2

      The reason why parachute payments became a thing in 2000-01 was because Sheffield Wednesday's relegation the season before. They had a couple international players on big wages but had a terrible/decrepit defense and went down, thus hemorrhaging money with no TV money to pay their salaries. Wednesday have been out of the EPL since 2000, closest they came to promotion was a 2015/16 playoff final loss, but have a 40k stadium in the 4th biggest city in England. The club had to liquidate most of it's assets including it's own training ground, and had to abolish their youth academy for many years (right at the time Jamie Vardy was released at age 16). Just awful, awful timing with it all.

  • @k0zargamng851

    Post 5: Alfie you should really consider doing a video on the Bosnian men's national team, from being ranked 13 in the world in 2014 and qualifying for the World Cup in Brazil, to not qualifying for a single tournament since, yet managing to win their uefa nation leagues group, but genuinely hitting our lowest point with a 2-0 defeat to Luxembourg. Aging players, players who represent other national teams that are eligible to play for Bosnia but aren't seeming interested, just the genuine geopolitical mess that Bosnia is with how the Dayton agreement was meant to simply end the Bosnian war yet became the country's de facto constitution. I think it would make for a very interesting video, and could even span additional videos like how Velez Mostar are forced to play away from their original stadium in Mostar as it is on the Croatian side of the river, with their old stadium being taken over by Zrinjski Mostar. A club that was actually banned in Yugoslavia because of their nationalistic origin

Think of how E Jean Carrol sued trump because of the Adult Survivors Act, which allowed her to do so because the statute of limitations was lifted in 2022 on filing three years after the offence. Bill Cosby too. Basically there was a five-year Statue of Limitations with the UEFA FFP rules, so therefore some charges where not included when City knowingly mistated their accounts and also probably worse their subsequent non-cooperation. The Premier League has no such time limitation. Their titles are tainted.

The only thing they were found guilty of was refusing to cooperate with UEFA. Which they said they would from the start as the investigation was corrupt. Given that they were cleared of every single financial charge which was in-time and could be considered, seems they might have been right. I've actually read the report. You haven't have you?

    It's been established that lot of players get mega transfers on the back of good tournaments, but with Andre Onana quite likely heading to United, I think it'd perhaps be interesting to do a video on players that got huge transfers after single game performances.
