  • In this video I share a quick overview and some basic photo tips to help you get the most out of your Mavic Air 2 (or any drone really) when it comes to photography. The main thing is to maintain the most quality and control so make sure to shoot manually and I give a few tips on how to do that and shoot in the JPEG + Raw photo shooting so you can retain the most amount of quality as well as flexibility when you go to edit the photo.
    Check out the newly released DJI Mavic Air 2! This drone is incredible and is capable of capturing amazing quality video and photos.
    This is the best drone I have used at an incredible price. I am really impressed and excited to get more cinematic style footage with this drone from DJI.

    On Single Shot mode and 48mp Mode i got a DNG File of about 24mb and on the 48mp mode it was about 92mb. When I tried exporting them as a jpeg without editing both sample photos, the Single becomes a .5mb photo while the 48mp becomes about 2mb. On the other hand, the jpeg right out of camera is about 4mb for Single and 15mb. Is it normal for the DNG file to turn into such a small jpeg file when exporting?

    I shot a few 180 panos in my local town, the images were terribly out of focus on the bottom 3rd of the image when i cropped in to view at about 80%, any ideas how to fix? im understanding the MA2 also has a fixed focus, the images were useless, never seen such a poor image from my drones

  • @epi9042

    Thanks Devin!
    Few questions : ND is just there to get a slower shutter to get this motion blur if u want to, right?
    Do you always set ur shutter to receive M.M 0.0?
    If you don't have any motion in your picture, u can shoot without ND, correct?
    Do u always shoot in 48 MP or do u shoot 12 MP when u do AEB or Panorama?

    • @devinjtatro
      @devinjtatro  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hey! NDs can be used for multiple purposes but when it comes to photography I typically use them to shoot slower shutter speeds and allow for motion blur in bright light. To be honest I rarely look at the M.M 0.0 but yeah I would say as close to 0.0 should be close to properly exposed. I usually use the histogram to gauge my exposure. You don’t have to use the ND, to properly exposure you may need to crank your exposure way up. I rarely shoot 48 unless I want a huge photo .. it takes longer processing time on the drone and the photos are huge. 12mp is plenty for a majority of work I do professionally and recreationally. Panoramic modes on the drone will not allow 48 mode.. but thee photo is stitched 12 mp I believe. Same with AEB .. the drone won’t shoot 48 in any mode unless you chose 48. It’s kinda a novelty.

    Cool video! What you suggest for shooting a still white boat in a sunny day over cristal water? I see the boat overexposed... can’t understand what could be best... if I go auto it’s burning the whites.... otherwise it’s giving the water very dark...maybe a filter? Thanks!

    • @devinjtatro
      @devinjtatro  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Great question! I would expose for the white boat. So everything else may be a little dark but you will be able to see the boat hopefully. Since the boat is still you may want to try exposure bracketing and will will take multiple exposures and you can edit it together in post... or use the smart photo mode on the mavic air 2 👍

    • @devinjtatro
