I've made a tribal goat society with a dragon leading them. They worship the sabertooth, ride stags (cavalry trait), and cast mist and fire, turning the land to ashes. I love the visual aspect of antlers and fire in the mist that creeps forth... Very demonic. Late-game they get demonkin and balors, completing the demonic imagery.
I found the Mistling to be extremely potent. VERY hard for the enemy to get rid of.
I can see skipping the Mistlings, but no Glade Runners who would be riding spiders with this build? I can't see how you pass that up. :)

I went with the evolution instead of alchemy and got internal debate same as you here.
I would personally go for the Tome iof Artificing at Tier II, replacing either one. It might not be thematicly fitting, but 30% crit chance and siege magic helps you tremendously. On top of that you recive golem mina which helps with gold economy.
The only thing that could make this even better is a Dragon lord hero that regenerates unit health’s with the nature aura and can snipe away units with the comet breath
Ran tome of revelry first before fey and it helps so much to get my matriarchs quicker

Very interesting concept! I'm wondering if any other spirit animal can be a good fit for this build (obv. thematically spiders are best), as you are not talking much about the life leech... How about the wolf, with its reinforced spirit damage

Any plans to tryout new barbarians passive with a crit focused build? Probably their archers could be good now, but I'am not sure about exact tome path...
instead of mana channelers I usually take experienced seafarers because there are a lot of lake valleys in the underground and being able to embark so quickly is nice especially with all the food farms, pearl mines, etc in the ocean provinces.
What about picking the (forgot the exact name) tier IV order tome. Their is a spell that will rank up your units. I used it for my dragon/order build. And had a tier V frost, fire & gold dragon within a few turns
Well it's kinda hard to reach the necessary 6 Order Affinity to get there. But if you can somehow, it'd be nice for sure.
I don't know if it's any good, but I'd kinda like to see a build using the eagle mounts trait
Yeah, I'm gonna see what I can cook up. 4 points is gosh darned expensive though :D
Eagles really should be 3 points only, unless they also grant +5 HP.
@@LinusLinothorax Well, Flying does come with a ton of benefits which are easily worth a lot. 4 points though? I'll try it out and let you know if I agree with those costs. ^^
@@Ic0nGaming Flying is very strong, but keep in mind that the other mounts grant extra HP and a special ability all while being cheaper.
I'm curious did you ever find another Spider Totem Tree in your game? I played Primal Spiders a few days ago on an extra large map, and while I was incredibly diligent about exploring every nook and cranny of the underground, but alas I never found another totem tree. I also never found another city site which was larger than 4 sector either which is rather upsetting for a "massive underground" game. I hope one day they'll update the underground game play.
Regarding the "How to Train Your Dragon" aspect for this build I just do the same thing you had suggested in your Elemental build guide. Just get one Hero to "Experienced Leader" then have him sit at home base breeding and growing spiders until they are ready to join the front line armies. Works like a charm.
i dont like the massive underground - as I'm seeing the same thing you are seeing - its not more room to expand, but appears to be more tunnels. A plain underground seems to get more room to place other cities.
@@dinohtar3483 Is that so? I've never tried playing with a regular underground when doing a subterranean playthrough. I might have to give that a try.
Are you playing mods or the pre-release version? Because Pack Hunter only gives +10%, not +20%.

Looking at the thumbnail, does this build actually make your units look like that?
Sadly there is no spider racial transformation. Yet. I mostly picked this one to avoid ginormous spiders cause people with arachnophobia would hate em more than weird spooder ppl. Or so I hope lol.
@@Ic0nGaming If the devs are reading this, please please please give us a spider transformation which puts four spider legs growing out of the shoulders of bipedal units (so the "wings" slot). It's such an amazing visual!
